The shearling came up on both this pair and the other I purchased, exposing some sort of hard glue I’m assuming, cutting into my toes. Very disappointed in Birkenstock with this one. I wore them maybe 3 times before noticing this flaw. The shearling also immediately seemed to start to wear down. Where is the quality for this price point?

These sandals provide good support and are plushy comfortable. The stone color is a nice neutral, and the shearling detail is both functional and pretty. I don't recommend for use at the beach, though, as sand in the shearling doesn't come out well. Otherwise, great for everyday wear, both with socks or barefoot.

Now l can wear them all year round. The shearling makes it warm and comfy for indoor, winter wear. The sizing was a bit of a challenge. I have purchased numerous Birkenstocks over the years and always wore a 38. I needed the 39 in this version. In fact it measures exactly to my other 38s. I expect that it is a different manufacturer. That’s ok. Still love them!

I received a pair of these for Xmas last year and needed a replacement since the shearling didn’t last. I remember the first few months of wearing them… they were so soft and plush. I just received my new pair (direct from Birkenstock) and the shearling is not what it used to be! It feels fake and plush is the farthest thing from my mind when wearing them. Sad to see the quality is not quite the same.
Perfect and I want more and Different types of Arizona Sandal. I love this one for indoor use - and I want a pair similar and in the light blue but without the Shearling. Problem for me is that I love these so much - I don't want to wear them where there is dirt or grime or dogs that drop tics and fleas - that might want to snuggle in the Shearling or my wonderful socks from Birkenstock. And yet - I do want to protect my feet from - dirt, grime, tics and fleas of the world.
I was worried after reading the reviews that the show was going to be too big but I ordered my size and they fit well. I like wearing them without socks. I use them for house slippers since I had been working from home and realized for the past year I was barely wearing any shoes. (I don’t wear outside shoes in the house), these are great. They have formed to my feel beautifully and I feel way more supported. I wish I had bought these ages ago. I got my partner the felt slippers and he is happy with those as well. I prefer mine because they feel more versatile for inside wear through all seasons.
I have a pair of shearling sandals from LLBean that I love, Ive had them a LONG time. They don’t make them anymore. I have been looking for an update. I tried UGG but theirs didn’t hold up. When discovered these Birkenstock’s I figured they would be perfect. Birks always have great quality, and comfortable for my feet issues. So anyway, they look like I expected and as soon as I put them on I was pleased. I tightened the straps to make them tighter. My feet are the only truly skinny part of me. Haha. As soon as I started walking around in them I noticed how thin the bottom layer of shearing is. The part that rubs on the top of your foot is fluffy, but the bottom layer isn’t all that soft. I am used to Birks being firm and taking a while to break in, but I really thought the snarling layer would be thicker and plusher. Its sort of haphazardly glued on, so the front has a rough crusty edge to it. I just hope it doesn’t peel off, or rub off. I like them enough to keep wearing them, but I’m a little bit disappointed.
My first Birks and they are a hit! Tips: 1) Be sure to use the Birkenstock guide to measure your foot for the correct size. This includes the width also. 2) The contoured footbed has three arches. If something hurts after a couple of days, it's a fit problem. You may need a different style of Birk. 3) They might feel a bit stiff at first, but give them a couple of days for the cork to adapt to your foot. My story: I was looking for a proper shearling lined shoe to wear in the house that would provide support and warmth. After a couple of misses, I saw these Birkenstocks. In my own mind, I don't fit the Birkenstock style profile, but podiatrists widely recommend Birkenstocks. I am disappointed with the product. The fleece lining began to wear away soon after I purchased. It wasn't very thick to begin with, and now has peeled back from the foot bed edges. The overall quality of the sandal feels compromised, they have changed materials and it feels a bit flimsy. But the choice of fleece lining, how thin it was and how quickly deteriorated is what really annoys.
Someone I know had these (so must have bought several years ago,) I have purchased two pair, one black on black and the other grey on cream. On both pair the fur immediately started to come of the edges which on the black ones were very noticeable. The grey were only slightly better. On both I could not wear them for long as very uncomfortable if not just worn around the house. I adore the way they look and am shocked at how poorly made they are.
