Back in the day (10 years ago) you had to break these bad boys in before they were comfortable to wear. Super surprised when I bought a pair this year and they were immediately comfy. They did change the design of the shoe on the inside where your toes are at which I noticed right away. I thought I wouldn't like how that felt on my toes, but my feet made a quick adjustment after a couple wears and its not a concern anymore.I am a 9.5 in womens sneakers and a 10 in heels. I purchased a size 10 (a 41 in European measurements), which is an exact fit. Buy them! So stylish and can be worn with anything. I love my birkies!

I came into the store at around 5pm to try them on. I read on birkenstock website is better to measure your feet for the perfect fit at the end of the day because your feet have expanded. So I came into the store to try them one and get the right size. I'm usually between sizes depending the shoe brand, but it's 7 1/2 or 8. The associate brought me a 37 and I told him it felt tight but he insisted it looked right. He brought me the 38 but he stated my heel was not at close to the wedge and looked big. So I went with the 37. Bad idea! My right foot starter to hurt and I couldn't keep walking in them. I had to return them. Bummed because I really wanted to love them and hear only good things about them.

I had been eyeballing there for a while but they were out of stock in my size. I snatched them up as soon ad they became available. I absolutely love my birkinstock sandles, so I had high hopes for these. They fit great, true to size. They seem comfortable, although I haven't worn them out yet. My issue is the quality. For shoes that cost almost $160 I expect them to be pristine. The pair I got are not. The suede has a scuff mark on the one shoe and what seems to be some sloppy glue work on both of them. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep them yet. I expect more from the brand and for that price point.
I ordered in store and the order was shipped from Cincinnati. Shipping was fast yet I was sent two different size shoes. The left a larger size and the right was my size. I wear an 7.5-8 and the 39 was perfect for me with no extra space in the back of the shoe. It was comfortable with soft suede and while I had to return due to the shipping stores error, I will reorder. Just not from Nordstrom as they are now sold out in my size. I do suggest trying the shoe on, as they run small and ever so slightly wide in my opinion.

No doubt the soft suede will stretch with wear making the shoes completely unwearable since the buckle has no more holes left. Point being, the size calculator is way off!Determined not to give up, I went to a local Birk store that had the Boston in oil leather (iron grey) for woman in a 36 narrow that addressed many of the issues I had with the suede. The leather is far more structured. It isnāt floppy, it stays open and is truly slip in and out ready. The fit seems slightly tighter too and I can go down to the 2nd hole when wearing a thin sock. While the leather will eventually stretch too, Iām confident that it will take longer and be much less significant than the suede. Iād also bet money that the oil leather will look far better a year from now than the taupe suede. (Out of the box, the look of the suede wins but Iām interested in longevity.)Both materials have the amazing Birkenstock footbed that are truly heaven on my sore, almost flat, aging feet. The soft footbed is comfortable out of the box but Iāll probably seek the original footbed for my next pair as I think the original will be better over time as well.I would love to see Nordstrom get more leather options for women in the future as Iām already wanting more colors. The size 10 was unavailable in the store. I went online and chose the size per Macy's size recommendation options. I received a 41. I was not 100% happy as they felt a bit loose, and one of my feet is slightly smaller so the shoe felt bigger on that foot. There was clearly about one inch of space left behind. I tried to convince myself that I was going to wear them with socks & needed the extra space. I decided to wait & shop around. I ordered a pair by Quince in a size 9 as reviews recommended to size down. They were perfect (run a little wider), but I wanted Birkenstocks. Headline says it all. Third time wearing them, the button on the side snapped completely off. I reattached them, and they broke again. This happened with normal walking around in my classroom. Wasnāt doing anything crazy. I should be able to walk without shoes breaking within two weeks of having them. Luckily Iām still within the return window so these will be going back, and I will continue my search for comfortable shoes to wear to work smh.
My first Birkenstock order - I ordered my usual shoe size and they fit perfectly. However, the material didnāt look new, they were both worn at the big toe and one of them had a long scratch across the top. Both shoes looked like they had been on display. I saw that someone else had written that their shoes didnāt look good either, but Iād hoped my purchase would be different. These will be going back. I decided to buy from the Birkenstock website and they look brand new.
I love these clogs so much. Wore them in high school and Iām glad theyāre back in style.I will say, they fun small. Iām usually a 8.5 so I ordered a size 39. Iād say the toe box is not true problem, but the actual length of the shoe. My heel touched right at the edge without socks. Ended up sizing up to a 40 for a better fit. I know they will loosen up as the leather wears. However, in my case, i prefer they look a tad big than my heel hanging out.
