I'd suggest taking a full size down from your usual. I'm normally somewhere between a 9.5 UK in business shoes to 10.5 UK for trainers. I bought a 9.5 here based on a (helpful) previous reviewer saying they ran large, and they were still too big! Got a 9; perfect. The size calculator on the Birkenstock UK website is spot on though, so if in doubt, check there.
Using these as my house slippers. The previous ones I had (also Birks) disintegrated after many years of use. I was so happy with them that I decided to get Birks again.The sippers are unmatched in quality (made in Germany, duh!) and are super comfortable. Note that there's about a week long break-in period and they will not feel great at first, so just be cognizant of that. One week later and they fit like a glove. Make sure you use the size chart provided on the Birkenstock website and actually take the time to measure your feet properly - it'll go a long way in making sure you'll be satisfied with them for many years to come.
I ordered these a few months ago, so have had plenty of time wearing them. I'd say it takes a couple of weeks to walk them in (the real, thick leather is beautiful, but does need some time to get supple), but once you've done that it's as though you're walking on air. I'm a woman with normal feet, not particularly wide or narrow, and I normally wear a size 39. I ordered these in size 38 regular (so the photos incorrectly show the narrow model), and they fit me absolutely perfectly. I'm glad I didn't go with a narrow model. The more I wear them, the more beautiful the leather is getting too. Ordering from Outnorth was superfast and hassle-free as well, thank you! I couldn't be happier :-)
Love love love these Birkenstocks.I've previously had a pair I wore nearly every day for 3 years. Decided to get a new pair recently. Not because they're worn down, (quite far from it!) but because of the big sizes.These always run big, HUGE! I'm usually a UK 8.5/ 9 but I've gone for a 7.5 because the old ones I felt were always a little too big. These new ones fit perfectly. **5 STARS**
I have very wide feet (EEEE) and high arches. That's a killer combination when it comes to finding comfortable shoes or sandals that I can stand in all day and not feel it from my feet to my neck by the end of a day. These fit the bill perfectly with their huge toe box and extreme arch support with deep heel cup. I love the durable faux leather straps which don't stretch like my leather ones do with repeated wears, walking, bending and squatting. My only reason for 4 of 5 possible stars is that despite my having wide feet and high arches, I still require tighter straps to hold them on, so I always end up drilling one or two more holes in the straps to snug them up the way I like them to fit. Purchased in 1994 - real leather - the soles are paper thin and separating from the cork the leather is beat and torn but I still wear them indoors as slippers cause I cannot bear to throw them out . BTW these were not purchased at MEC - the salesman REFUSED to sell my wife a pair because she was 7 months pregnant and told her that her feet would be affected and to come back in six months time ! Mine have the straps at the back so that I could ride the bike but over time the backstraps weren't worn and they became slip on types.Replacement pair from MEC will be without backstrap . Recommended by a friend who has since purchased a second pair and has been equally satisfied over the past 2 decades . Wish I would have had them resoled 10 years ago . I bought these as a birthday present for my boyfriend. Got through next day delivery which worked great.Unfortunately they arrived in a battered unmarked box, quality was lacking when I took them out and were unmatched (footbeds were slightly different colours).Turned out they sent me a non leather pair, which are 2/3 of the price I paid. Will be returning and purchasing from Birkenstock
