I always thought Birkenstocks were ugly, but the Madrid changed my mine. They are cute and I love the wide buckle. Since they are expensive, I enjoy the prestige when I wear them. I was very disappointed in the comfort though. The wide band cuts into the top of my foot, and the bump beneath the toe area was hard to get use to. I did like how they were adjustable and stayed on my feet.

These are the best Birkenstocks. I find them to be the most comfortable style, and I'm an elementary school teacher on my feet everyday. I think they can be dressed up or down. I have multiple paiirs/colors of this style. I am a solid size 8 in most shoes, but wear size 38 in Birkenstock. This review has been provided as a part of an incentive program.

The surf Birkenstock slide-on sandal is even better in person. The color is perfect for the summertime. I cannot wait to wear them to the beach and pool. They are fashionable enough to wear pretty much everywhere. My teenage daughter keeps sneaking off with them. Shoes are TTS for Birkenstock.

I’ve had my eyes on these for more than a year now, and I started seeing them everywhere. I asked around and read reviews and heard they weren’t that comfortable, but they seemed comfortable enough in the store. They’re fine for short periods of time, but I wouldn’t want to wear these if I were on my feet all day and verifiably not if there were a lot of walking. Even if I have just a normal day, my feet are always sore and tired if I wear them all day. Such a shame. I’ll still wear them but just on limited occasions. Certainly not the comfortable, supportive Birks I’m used to.
Love this style of Birks and they are sooooo comfortable, but will be returning this pair. Described as black leather but it’s nubuck which to me is different and the color looks more like a dark grey than black. I wanted black smooth leather. But I definitely recommend the style just not this combo if you want black leather.
I have several Birkenstocks and this one has caught my eye for over a year. Finally made the purchase and glad I did. Very comfortable and flattering with jeans or casual dress. As with all Birkenstocks, you need to break the leather in. The buckle does not hurt my foot as other reviewers claim. It fits a little looser compared to the strappy sandals, but still stays on my foot nicely when walking. Bought the neutral brown/tan for multiple outfit uses.
The shoe is ok BUT after waiting for them of course Bloomingdales sent the wrong size -even with the receipt In the box which clearly states the correct size. I don’t know if they are comfortable or not since they are the wrong size. I am a big Bloomingdales shopper but more and more ordering is a big ordeal … I’m over the sandals now. I needed them for vacation but will go to another brick and mortar and purchase them from a store that is not Bloomingdales. I wonder why there a no people to double check. Any it was a waste of my time. Hope the change the way they do business. I try not to leave bad te Jews but I placed this order with another item that they sat on for 6 days and it was a gift - the event has come and gone so I’ll be returning that gift as well.
These were my top choice over the thong style but I ordered both. Ended up keeping the thong. I’m pregnant so these just did not feel secure enough for day to day walking. I think if I wasn’t pregnant I would reconsider because they are cute! But for the purpose of being pregnant and having to size up due to my swollen feet I didn’t see these as a viable option. I will also note I don’t love the buckle. I like the ones that have the shimmery gold buckle. These have a more dull gold that doesn’t look as classy and elegant. Overall not a bad shoe but didn’t work for my use case.
After 25 consecutive days of wearing them at home with thick socks to break them in, these sandles NEVER got walkable and so uncomfortable so I returned them for a refund. I can’t even walk in them from my couch to the kitchen, too stiff and hurt my feet. Personally I have never felt a more uncomfortable pair of sandals, especially as the buckle cuts into my skin. Glad I got a refund.
The cork on the sole of the shoe broke split by the leather strap. Bought it in March so wore only for a couple of months, obviously the shoe was defected since Ive had a few pairs and that didn’t happened before. I would expect that 140$ shoe would last longer. Bloomingdales does not care about that, customer service just say sorry there is a 3 month window return and they don’t acknowledge any defected returns, they just told me that i can write review. my next pair of shoes i will be buying from Nordstrom
