They have such a classic look that goes with every outfit. The comfort is by far my favorite quality of this shoe. Really good finish and rustic rugged look. This sandal is marketed on JL as men's but is also described else wear as unisex. I took a punt and although the product is absolutely fantastic, the fit was a little too big, which I should have known. One size down would work. The leather is solid with a clean natural finish. The back strap is a great feature that will stop them flying off as you run for the bus. Can be worn by men or women. Not girlish and definitely a more masculine look for a sandal but great for comfort. Not soft comfort but more of supportive comfort.

Comfortable sandals, though takes a few days to wear in the base. I am a size 8 and ordered 42, this was clearly too large. Reordered in a 7.5 / 41, and fits well. So it seems you need half a size down with Birkenstocks. I was also worrying whether the synthetic fabric would be inferior to leather, actually it seems nice and lighter weight.

The Milano adds a third strap to keep your heel secured. AFTER your feet have adjusted to the very aggressive Birkenstock archsupport, your feet will feel great. A good approach is to wear the Milano's two hours a day the first week, four hours a day the second week and all day the third week. Wearing socks (call the fashion police) will protect your feet while the straps soften up.Use Birkenstock cork sealer every eight weeks and keep your Milano's away from water. They will provide years of service before you need to replace the cork or the outer sole.
Bought these for my husband and he loves them. The sandals are comfortable and the quality is what you’d expect with Birkenstock. He specifically wanted the back strap and loves it!
I finally broke down and purchased these. I purchased the "men's" but these are actually uni-sex so should be listed as such. Unfortunately, my local DSW doesn't carry the Milano as a women's shoe (wish they did), so I had to go to the men's department to find them. They are a bit stiff and will require gradual break-in, but I love them. Comfortable in general, I just have to be patient with them.
These are advertised as leather. They are in reality the Birko Flor fake leather material. Not worth the effort to send back. Also the size chart is off. The size 38 EU is supposed to fit 7-7.5. Ive worn 7 in sandals and 8 in tennis shoes all my life. These were too long, uncomfortable and unwearable for me. I gave them away. No more attempts at Birks. Im over it. Sorry folks
My wife bought three pairs and they were the worst feeling sandal I have ever owned. The inside sole was like walking on pavement, and if your foot accidentally slips out a little, you shall feel the unforgiving lip of the sole. Today, I tossed them all. I wouldn’t even donate them because nobody should feel such pain.
I ordered a 41 before, too big for a normal size. Understandable, some brands are different from standards. I reordered a smaller size then. For any reason, you guys sent a box with two sticker size, 40 in the top of a 42. Obviously, the sandals were a 42, a size even bigger than the original order. Suddenly, the product is not in sales anymore. Very poor and annoying service.
I bought these in the summer for a trip to Italy and ended up with the biggest blisters of my life. I still have a massive scar on the side of my foot from the blister that these shoes gave me. In fairness, I had not worn them in yet but still, I was not prepared for the pain of these shoes. Be cautious with these shoes and make sure you wear them in properly before wearing them.
