I decided to try a couple pairs of Birkenstocks again, after not buying any for several years. I like the idea of this shoe: waterproof, cheery white, perfect for summer. Unfortunately for me, the upper straps, even at their loosest, cause irritation and redness on my tailor bunions (outside edge of foot.) I tried them around the house for several hours, and realized that I would not be able to wear them without pain. Birks should not cause pain! So they are going back, but I do recommend them if you need a waterproof shoe and your feet don’t have the same issues as mine.

I don't get the hype. They're just okay. Not as comfortable as I expected them to be after reading all of the other rave reviews. My feet ached terribly after wearing them the first time. I had blisters on both feet, and I'm definitely wearing the right size. The material is much less durable than I expected it to be. It scuffs and scrapes so easily. I much prefer the knock off brand from Kohl's for a fraction of the price. These are not worth the price tag and I definitely won't be purchasing another pair.

I found it to be true to size but I did have to tighten the straps quite a bit. I consider myself to have average width feet and this is supposed to be the narrow width but I still found it quite wide. However, the sizing was not an issue for me because the straps are adjustable and I think if I were to go down a size, it would have been too small length wise for my foot.My major complaint about these shoes is that they just make too much noise. These appeared sturdy. I wear a size 7.5/8 and ordered the 38, 7/7.5. They were a bit bulky and I did not like the look. It was the last one available and when it arrived I received one shoe that was the proper size and the other one was sized 41! So even if I had liked them I would not have been able to keep them. The reason for the 4 stars is because of the wrong shoe size being sent. Someone did not open the box prior to sending them and that is not acceptable. However I returned the shoes to my local store without issue. The shoe itself was probably alright, just not my style.
I wore these and within a few hours I noticed orange dots showing up in them, I hadn't gone in water or done anything crazy and my feet were clean when wearing them. I looked it up and according to some websites the EVA material is known to oxidize and nothing can be done as it is a permanent chemical stain. Very disappointed as I thought these would be the perfect summer shoe! I should have spent a little more and bought the regular birks. Apparently this happens mainly with lighter material EVA, so darker colors should be fine.
At first they seem a bit on the flimsy side and for light duty. They're light in weight as if constructed from some vegetable extract plastic like material. However once I put them on I Ioved the customary arch support. My feet find themselves enveloped in the seemingly appropriate, comfortable, molded convex shape. They feel great to put on and walk around. I'm using them mostly for inside my house. I'm not sure how well they would survive as an outside, heavy duty use sandal. Mostly for the beach. the pool etc IMHO
I bought the white ones and I mainly used mine to walk my dogs. They were comfy but you know walking dogs usually go in the grass when you walk in the morning or at night time and the grass will be wet from the sprinklers going off so they got stained yellow greenish difficult to come off. Also if your clumsy or you just accidentally trip outside with these say good bye to your toes lol, and the tip of the sandal. Now if you have sweaty feet highly recommend you pass you will sound like you're walking in SpongeBob's boots, if you don't know what I'm talking about you'll basically squeak all throughout the day. These are strictly pool slides or beach slides or even indoor shoes but that's it. I personally hate them now and I will never buy them again. I bought these a summer or 2 ago in the army green after my boys had these black. They were so comfy on and didn't break the bank. I am a woman and wear a size 10 so went with the size 41 in the black and they fit perfectly. I did not like the women's version of this sandal. The footbed was too narrow on them and I do not have wide feet. The men's version hides my bunions and there still is wiggle room w/o being too wide. If you do have a wide foot these are great d/ the wider foot bed and the adjustable straps. FYI- I like my straps on the tightest options. Bonus that these will be waterproof to wear by the pool this summer. Also, more colors!!!!
I really like these waterproof slides but, they replaced an EXACT $8 knock off pair I purchased on a beach vacation 2 years ago. (I honestly liked the $8 pair better). I worry about how long these will last before they start to crack at the inner corner of the big toe due to natural foot movement while wearing them (other reviews said this was a problem) I chose these over other brands/types because of the decent arch support. I'm hoping these last longer than the $8 knock off pair I had, but at the end of the day, its a basic plastic shoe with a limited lifetime. Do note, that these slides are only available in 'narrow' shape rather than the regular 'wide' foot bed shape of most birkenstocks.

As soon as I opened them I was disappointed. I could see them lasting maybe 10 mins at the beach. Just throw away shoes literally. I broke down and went back to what I knew would be a purchase to last me awhile. These are like real sandals - not foam, not disposable but quality shoes you can wear to the beach and beyond. I did just that - they went from sand to store and my feet felt great the whole way. Birks are not the prettiest shoes but they feel great. Your feet will be happy in these and nothing can ruin them - sand, water, ice cream spills, etc. Then you get to hose them down when you get back home!
