Super light. Great tool for those than just want to potter along without any stess on the arms. We have a very large garden. The hubby gets in with a heavy duty Strimmer but honestly I can't use it a really heavy one. But with this black n Decker I can maintain it once its done. Would be perfect for a smaller garden. Battery takes a life time to charge only negative. A spare battery if u have would be fab

Disappointed with the cordless strimmer. I’ve used it to help clear some of the garden and it really struggled and found only using turbo mode it would cut some of the overgrown grass on the edges, it would not cut down dandelions and within 11 minutes the battery was dead. This takes 6 hours to charge. Very disappointed and I do regret the purchase.

Black and Decker Strimmer

Quite pleased with this cordless strimmer. Lightweight but not flimsy and does the edges of the garden nicely, giving it a nicer finish where the mower can’t reach. My garden is huge so could do with another battery. Overall it does what I need it to.

Good for small jobs where there's no power supply

Good for light work but needs to be run at high speed for some jobs so the battery runs down v quickly. I use it to keep borders and beds clear at the allotment where there's no power supply. It can handle light grass/weeds but struggled with thicker perennial weeds.

Lightweight

I've only used this once as only had it a week . It did the job efficiently and wasn't to heavy to carry around. The only issue has been trying to register online with black&decker. It's asks for various numbers shows a picture of where to find them but they're not on my strimmer!!!! I have up and I will have to phone the helpline

Not for smaller hands

Good weight and power, but poor testing. Great for clearing on the allotment, and clears a long driveway easily, where my corded strimmer was a pain to use. Love it! Unsuitable for anyone with smaller hands than most men. The dead-man (sic) switch requires a large hand because the rear grip is too thick for anyone with small hands. Good tool, but sad to see oversight like this in a trusted brand.

I have worked in horticulture have a big garden and have tried several different strimmers, this is the best if you don't want to shell out for a petrol strimmer. Terrible and breaks very quickly

I’ve had 4 of these, each one broke very quickly. Three were replaced within the two year warranty but Black and Decker transfer the warranty from the original purchase to the replacement, so once that two years is up they don’t want to know. The final one lasted 5 measly hours of use before breaking. Save your money and go for a different brand.

Two power settings

Easy, comfortable and relatively quiet to use. With a fully charged battery, on setting 1 it struggled with larger weeds and grass but on setting 2 it can cope reasonably well with thicker vegitation. The battery lasted around 15mins at full tilt, which was long enough to get bored with the job and have a cup of tea.

good battery life - strimming line issues to consi

The battery life is excellent, even on the high power setting. With an extra batter you can get a substantial amount of strimming done in one session. Unfortunately the Automatic Line Feed is a mystery. Knowing how it works could ensure adequate line at all times but a Google search does not shed light on this. Often the line is only about 10 cm long and this makes the cutting area SMALL ... 1/2 of the total advertised!! I tend to stop every 5 minutes and pull out enough line to increase the cutting area. This is tedious for sure!!! But ... other than that this is a good, robust strimmer. Generally the "fit" is ergonomic. Additional B & D strimming line with spool is expensive - perhaps consider winding your own on the spool.
