It’s a little awkward to hold and so need good upper body strength. Only cuts through small twigs so will have to trim hedges semi frequently. I have a lot of tall hedges and still needed to be on a ladder even with the extension.
I bought this a little over 2 years ago to trim two high hedges (and others). It was replaced twice under warranty (the cutter had cone loose in the motorised head). On the 2nd replacement, I was told that was it. Of course it happened again, and no longer under warranty, I dismantled the head. Sure enough the two bolts holding the cutter blade had loosened - no spring washers! All good now. My only complaint is that since the motor is in the head, it becomes heavy to use away from vertical. Otherwise good and effective.
I brought this a couple of weeks ago and I am so pleased with my purchase the different tilt options for the cutting blade is perfect and allows me to maintain the hedge height without having to pull a ladder around the yard with me!! So pleased I brought this easy to use and cuts very well!
A lot of people have said in previous reviews that the trimmer is heavy to hold. I would tend disagree. Perhaps that is because they lack general strength?! I found it easy to use and like the angles possibilities. The battery power is great. Obviously make sure it is charged up the night before you want to use it. It’s great value for money too.

All my power tools are battery operated and the majority are aimed at domestic use - (I find it more profitable to get 'decent' domestic tools rather than expensive pro tools). This tool is disappointing compared to other Black & Decker products I have (the strimmer is excellent for example). It's flimsy overall and the cutting speed is laboured. It can't cope with branches of any real thickness. However, I can't compare to other products as it's the first long-reach trimmer I've owned. All I can do is judge it according to the job it's meant to do, and this doesn't cut the mustard for me (or indeed the hedges!). Weight isn't an issue (for me), and it does adjust for angle of cut. Unfortunately this pole hedge trimmer is let down by a couple of things. One, it doesn't have as many angles as the Greenworks one I had used (but not owned) previously. Secondly the battery run time is a joke. You get anywhere from 20 to 35 minutes depending on what you are cutting and it takes up to SIX hours to recharge. Instead of bundling this with the more powerful battery they suggest you stump up another $130 for the faster charging battery. I don't think so! I've gone back to my trusty Bosch corded hedge trimmer.

The weight is well balanced, many reviews state how heavy it is, well compared to others its not, some people have to accept theyre too weak to manage tools like this. Good reach. The start and stop buttons are okay. The run time very good, as YouTube review said you run out of energy before it does. Whats not so good, the charge time is very slow, but given how long it runs that was okay. I was surprised there was no sheath for the blade, which seemed a bit penny pinching. Overall my view is a well priced , well balanced and easily transportable and storable piece of kit.
