I really like mine, I buy the rewound spools to replace and it’s cuts really well and I like the heavy duty cutter option. I’ve got a very big garden with lots of elm tree saplings and it makes light work of it all.

I bought this last year and it performed very well but now the spool holding the string it deteriorating and slices the string when it tries to cut giving me about 2 minutes of cutting time. Black+Decker can you please advise how I can purchase a new spool?

hated my old cordless electric trimmer, but didn't want to be getting petrol every couple of weeks so bought this. has exceeded my expectations, minimum setup, easy to use and the cord is decent length.

While I really like the 900 Watts of power I'm disappointed in the Auto Line Feeder. The initial 6m of line that came installed on the spool all fed out automatically (quite quickly) but having added a new length of line to the spool I'm finding the auto feeder no longer works and am having to stop and feed out more line manually (one of my bug bears brought over from my old line trimmer!). The extra spool with multiple extra strong trimmer lines is a great added extra, as is the rotating head for cutting edges.

Avoid

Goes through line at a ridiculous pace. Definitely not worth it. Avoid.

GL933-XE

My wife uses this lightweight grass edger with the HD blue string and it cuts well.However, the plastic moulded holder that contains the black plastic diamond into which the blue line is bonded has failed. It started by wearing through the curved shaped area that retains the line and now has totally destroyed the holder. I have only used three packets of 10 and have now destroyed 2 holders. The plastic holder is not of sufficient durability.

Grundy machine

I brought this today. And yes it is a grunty machine. But the cord kept snapping off hitting me in the leg. Through my tights it cut my leg. Not happy. Taking back tomorrow

Not bad for an electric trimmer

If you’re after a corded weed eater, don’t get the 350 watt one, get this. Far better cutting performance, adjustable length shaft, adjustable handle and easy rotation to an edge cutter with guiding wheel. It even comes with a decent length of cable.

Short-lived

Same problem as previous reviewer - the spool cap deteriorated and is on the verge of disintegration. Galling that I may need to throw the whole (otherwise fully functional) thing away if I can't find a replacement.

The best line trimmer but with a catch

The machine in itself is fantastic better than any line trimmer I've ever used period. I gave it a 4 star only because you have to buy some expensive line feed that is only supported by this line trimmer. Kind of the printer trick where they sell you a cheap printer but really expensive printer inks.
