I upgraded my harness because I've gotten thicker as I've gotten older and my original Black Diamond harness in a size small (which I believe was similar to the Momentum model) no longer fit me well. I got this harness in a medium and it's a good fit (I'm 5'6" and average 145 lbs). This harness is lighter, comfy to hang in, and the tapered design on the leg loops makes movement a breeze. My thighs take up a good amount of space in the leg loops, which are not adjustable, but it works fine for my purpose climbing in leggings. Would buy again!

I loved my Petzl Sama harness, but when it wore out, I tried upgrading to the BD Solution harness, because reviews seemed to indicate it was even more comfortable.Things I liked:Very comfortable for walking aroundVery comfortable for climbing/hangingCrotch loop attach point seems reinforced with metal-- very strong and durableDidn't like:The inner side of the leg loops pinched and scraped me when I was belaying...much less comfortable than the Sama in this function. The whole harness feels rubbery-- some may like this- I found it harder to pack away.No weight-bearing gear loopNo convenient and easy to use stretchy loop to tuck extra waist belt inches into.

An all-around really lovely sport climbing harness. The waist and leg loops are both exceedingly comfortable to sit in as far as harnesses go. The belt is very secure when fastened but not at all difficult to loosen when removing. The gear loops, belay loop, and tie-in loops are all well-constructed - the stitches are secure and the whole set up is sleek like a sports car but without the associated costs of actually being a sports car.The haul loop is kind of small and it would be nice to have two more gear loops, but if you’re not spending all day errday on big wall trad, I wouldn’t be too interested in the extra bells and whistles found on a heavier workhorse harness.I’m 5’5 (1.67 m), 122 lbs (55.4 kg) and the small is an exemplary fit for my dimensions. The leg loops aren’t adjustable but there’s for sure some generous give to them (elastic) if my legs were to expand outwards. I like that the belt has plenty of extra room to expand so I can wear my puffiest of puffies while belaying and still feel locked in.I like this little harness a lot and would highly recommend if you're looking for something lightweight and comfortable for the crag/gym.

I initially was really impressed with this harness. It is very light and hardly feels like you're wearing a harness. I found myself leaving it on even when taking a break.Be very mindful of the sizing, specifically in the legs because the leg straps are elastic and NOT ADJUSTABLE. With my regular leggings it was a good fit, but with tights I felt that I could've used a little tighter fit to avoid the leg loops sliding up and/or loops folding. It is good quality, but I'm interested to see if the elastic in the legs hold up over time. (I'm 5'6, 130lbs, muscular/hourglass shape - ordered a size S, I have another black diamond harness which is also a size S.)Aesthetically it is stylish and sleek, it also came with a nice little bag to protect and store it in. It folds up and stores very nicely if you like to travel light and keep organized like me!
This harness is much more comfortable than my old black diamond harness. Something about the materials it is made of, the thickness of the bands, dimensions, etc makes it really comfortable to belay and sit on the wall with. I wish the leg loops were adjustable, as I like them a little larger than is allowed by the elastic leg loops. Provides everything I need for climbing routes at the gym.
This harness is sturdy and lightweight. So far, I have only used it gym climbing and I have found it comfortable as I got used to it. It's not as padded as my last harness, but after a session or two climbing in it I found it more comfortable. The leg loops fit well, but some people might not like that they aren't adjustable. You can adjust the length and where it sits on your thigh.
Been using this harness for just a little over a year now. Absolutely love this light weight harness. Great for Gym/Sport climbing as it was designed for. If you are between sizes tho, I'll say go for the smaller one. It'll stretch out.
Bought this for my fiance to get her off the rental harness at the gym. I chose this one because Outdoor Research rated the men's version pretty highly. We were not disappointed! The harness fits well and is extremely comfortable, gear loops are solid, and overall construction seems great. When my current harness wears out I'll probably get the men's version!
Look closely at the gym or the crag and you will undoubtedly see someone using a BD Solution. Why? Because it's going-away the most comfortable harness on the market. I've been in and out of numerous harnesses; the only one comparable is an ArcTeryx at 2X the price. When the time came to get my wife a new harness, the Solution was a no-brainer and she loves it. Her thighs are sort of narrow, so we went with a Small when waist-wise she was on the cusp between a Small and a Medium.
This is my 2nd harness. My first was that yellowish/green momentum that I still see many ppl with. That one was great and I had it for 10 years (though I had a 3 year hiatus from climbing). I wanted to try this bc of the fixed leg loops- a plastic piece on one my old ones buckles broke so it was always hanging loose. It surprised me that there is a break in period, maybe 5-10 sessions, where the waist buckle now makes it to the 2nd loop, and the fixed leg loops are no longer uncomfortable- And they really were! I would not say that I have disproportionate thigh girth.2 gripes: occasionally I feel a painful thigh pinch that I can’t quite figure out, I messed around with the elastic cord in the back and it hasn’t happened as often but it was painful (and infuriating) ... MoreThis is my 2nd harness. This will be noticeable if this isn’t your first harness. Visually it’s easy to tell and I’ve seen other ppl with older versions of this harness where the loops are deeper and turned out, looking the same as my old harness. It’s not a huge difference, but when you reach to it, it’s like a small pocket on pants that requires attention to get the carabiner just right so you can remove it. Sure, we can get used to this- but why?Final points: durability seems bulletproof, I can still use the bag to keep it organized. Get this when on sale. I have used this in gym extensively and outdoors on only 2 trips thus far.
