I’ve only used it for a few days so far but the convenience of not dealing with a gas engine makes cutting a lot faster. I’m taking down a whole bunch of trees and getting the branches takes the most amount of time. This saw makes that a breeze.

Has plenty of power and good balance. Couple of issues though;1. The oil dispensing mechanism does not seem to work and so the chain runs dry. I end up having to oil the chain directly after a few cuts.2. When you remove the sprocket cover you'll see that many of the chain tension adjustment part are plastic. So not sure how long it will last.

I had previously used the 12in version with great results, but I wanted one with a longer blade so I purchased this 16in. The tension would not stay tightened and it burned oil ridiculously quick. VERY DISAPPOINTED in this product. However, I want to say "thank you" to Home Depot for the no-hassle return.

It is a fine light saw for smaller jobs; no major issues

I needed a new chainsaw, and liked this one when I viewed it online. Compared it with a couple of others, and chose this for its weight and self-oiling. I like having the sheath for the blade. Not too happy with the attached cap. I understand why it is attached, but it means it needs a third hand or a piece of tape when emptying the oil out. Otherwise, the cap falls into the oil stream. Used to store my old saw in its box. Can't do that with this one; box isn't long enough. It does what I need it for, and does it well.

It is a good chain saw.....

I find this electric chain saw a nice little value. It works wonderful. It has great power to do the job. It had two drawbacks. The plug end does not work easily. It sticks and is hard to unplug from the cord. Also trying to obtain Black and Decker replacement parts (guide bar) is nearly impossible. Luckily of the shelf replacement do work quite well. My step son had bent the guide bar by accident. I would heartily recommend the Black and Decker 16in. 12amp chain saw. It is the little saw with big powers!

My favorite chainsaw

This is my favorite chainsaw. It is much better than the 14 inch smaller chainsaw I've used for 5 years. And I prefer it over my little gas powered 16 inch saw.The thing that makes this my favorite is that it requires no tools to adjust, replace a blade that has come off, or to put a new one on. No tools. After figuring out the very simple, but effective manner that the chain goes on, it is easy to do. I have fallen a couple of trees with it. One was about 40 feet tall and about one foot in diameter.Works like a charm.If it got stolen, I would buy another... in a heartbeat.

This saw worked great! The chain adjustment is easy, no tools required. It cut through large limbs easily. It feels balanced when holding it.Highly recommend.

Very good chainsaw for the price.

Compared to the piece of junk electric chainsaw I used to have this one is awesome. Assembly is a breeze and will only take at most 10 minutes of your time and you don't need to follow any complicated manual to put it together. My previous chainsaw was garbage because the chain kept on coming off but this one I have yet to have the chain fall off and that's even with hours of use. When it comes to tightening the chain it has a dial on the side that makes it very simple to do, which is a good thing because you will have to tighten it from time to time. When it comes to power the chainsaw has enough torque that it could cut through trees without the chain getting stuck like my other chainsaw.
