I migrated from Final Cut Studio to to Final Cut X?hated it. Settled on Premiere and stayed with it for many, many years. This year I got a new Apple Mac Studio computer and decided to give DaVinci Resolve a try. Never going back to Premiere. This program does everything the way it?s supposed to be done with innovative features that simplify and expand editing function, efficiently and easily. The Color page adds a real DaVinci color corrector like the kind I use to work with in film to tape transfer suites. Works exactly the same. Fusion allows me to make serious visual effects like in major feature films. Working with nodes make the most sense and is easily understood. And audio production and mixing is integrated in Fairlight, but simplified mixing is in the edit ... MoreI migrated from Final Cut Studio to to Final Cut X?hated it. The main reasons I bought, instead of the free versions was so I could use the 120fps setting that the free didn't have. And it works much better without the jerkiness and pauses. The other reason was to get technical help that the forum couldn't answer and that was a huge disappointment. After completing projects, I move used files to specific folders for storage where I know I've used them. In 2 cases relinking didn't work even though the files are clearly there. I called tech help and they said they would escalate and send me something within 5 minutes to send back with system info and such. I never got anything back after hours and called and made sure they had the right email. Still almost a day later and nothing. Also unlike Adobe, they have no remote help, so ... You can't go to a folder as in Premiere Pro and indicate this it the right file, whereby then all the rest relink correctly.

It's an activation card that needs to be mailed to you. The home site if purchased there, you get an email and have it within minutes, however, DR requires (or at least required) a PayPal account, of which I do not want or need. No guest checkout. So, I was stuck to using this method. From DR directly you get an email with the code which only takes minutes vs. this method which takes days.B&H needs to get approval for the same day email option instead of making people wait days for it. This is ultimately a deal between DR and B&H.
I purchased this in order to switch from Premiere. I've used the free version of Resolve to color for years, but always used Premiereto edit. Finally I finally got fed up with Premiere's glitches and lack of meaningful improvements as well as Adobe's terrible subscription pricing.I wish I made the switch much sooner.Resolve is a much more powerful editor than Premiere Pro, and comes without the issues of Creative Cloud. Switching has not as difficult as I expected and the speed editor is like magic. Being able to edit, color and do audio and graphics work all in the same place is very convenient. Going back into Premiere to work on the couple projects I still have going there feels like such a slog.If you're looking for a sign to switch this is it.
B&H did a great job with their part of taking the order and payment, and shipping. There was a problem with FEDEX, due to a big snow storm. it happens. Anyway, once I got the activation card code from FEDEX, there was no LINK in the materials I received. It appears that the only links to download the studio version is if you buy it from BlackMagic. I had to email Blackmagic support, and they sent me a link, and that solved the problem. But it would have been SOOOOO much easier if the Blackmagic website had a link for when Da Vinci resolve is purchased from other suppliers, such as B&H, so one could just directly download the software, and then enter the activation code. Really great software, very inexpensive for what you get- great value. Tremendous capability. One of the very best values in video editing software, and as usual B&H comes through like champs with their part of supporting the customer with products that they need. Keep up the good work B&H !!!! regards, Dan
Im a content creator and used Premiere Pro for years. However, having the option to pay once for a lifetime licence for an editing program that is doing its best to get better at a fast pace started to weight. I suddenly did the leap and am pretty happy i did. It takes some getting used to time, but nothing that some tutorials can't help. Good thing is that whatever i needed, i just had to search for the thing i used to do in premiere pro + Davinci Resolve and there was a tutorial on how to do it on Resolve. For what i do, wich is gameplay videos with cuts, its perfect. And it's awesome to edit short videos for the platform as well, i love the feature where it generates auto subtitles in several languages (brazilian portuguese included, wich is my main language) ... And it's awesome to edit short videos for the platform as well, i love the feature where it generates auto subtitles in several languages (brazilian portuguese included, wich is my main language) and you can save LOTS of time just tweaking what the algorithm didn't get right. Its surprising how much it gets right. Also, from my experience, the editing is smoother on Resolve than it was on Premiere, with my PC fighting less to playback stuff in Resolve. And, being able to, like in premiere, render using NVIDIA RTX encoder really fasten things up.To end, i love that Davinci Resolve is being constantly updated hearing what people need and in a fast pace giving updates. It's been almost two months since im only using Resolve and i already downloaded like 4 different new updates with new features.
I have used the free version of Davinci Resolve for several years. My editing skills have improved, and I'm feeling the need for many of the features which can only be accessed in the Studio version.it's kind of a strange way to deliver software these days, but I now have the activation card. It's nice quality, has a cheerful picture and is, I guess, a kind of receipt. As I say, I have been using this software for about five years. It's heavy-duty and almost bizarrely full-featured, yet it runs without a problem on my 2017 Macbook Pro laptop.I do recommend a larger monitor. There is a lot of stuff on the screen.
I started a podcast using Audacity but I needed/wanted more. I started looking at Fairlight in the free version. Then, the updates that were made in the Studio version of 18.5 made it an absolute bargain. Once I feel comfortable with the audio, I will take on the video. I intend to go step by step to develop some master classes and a YouTube channel. Now I have the tools to create something to be proud of. There is a learning curve and I am an octogenarian but it was a challenge in 1957 to build my first computer with vacuum tubes.. Taking on new challenges keeps me going.
