Dear Snowys,Firstly I'd like to point out what great customer service you have! Everything from the best price, fast delivery to returning phone calls when promised...A+++ Thankyou. Now to the Turbo 300.1. Set up time - Pretty quick to get the main body of the tent established however that's where the speed stops. Having an additional 8 pegs to fix the added material at the corners is annoying (my previous version didn't have this). You can get away without fixing all corners if it's not windy or raining however the points closest to the door need to be fixed to provide rigidity to front of the awning.2. Waterproofing - This tent 100% must be used with the fly to guarantee it keeps the water out. Water enters the tent from the closed air vents at the top (probably expected) and also through the stitching around the front door (not expected) as I discovered when weathering the tent.4. Quality control - Overall the canvas is great quality and you can't beat a lifetime warranty which I'm suspecting I will be testing sometime in the future due to the double stitching on the lower corner of the D zipper being unstitched out of the bag.5. Size - When packed it will fit diagonally across the back seat of the car otherwise it's on the roof. Overall this tent is huge and perfect for an extended trip of two nights or more where it's not being put up and taken down every night.

I havenāt had the privilege of setting this wonderful prize of tent yet. Once my back is recovered from my back operation, Iāll be setting it up or camping in it as soon as Iām allowed. It looks strong and sturdy.Iāve opened the zipper bag and can see apon inspection that the floor is of good quality so Iām assuming that the rest will be too. Canāt wait to try this. It is a big bulky item. But will be worth it. Thank you

Don't waste your money. I have used this tent 5 times and every single time I've had issues getting the ridgeline pole to click into centre hub. Also have had issues with the stability of vestibule in any kind of wind conditions - poor design. Even after Snowys replaced some poles and hub, still have these issues. I regret buying this tent, thought I was purchasing a quality tent. Not a happy camper :( I will be selling my Blackwolf Turbo Plus 300 tent and buying a Coleman instead which I could buy 4 of for the price of 1 Blackwolf.

I've had many tents over the years and finally upgraded due to the kids getting older and taller. Was worried about doing the tent myself due to being a solo Mum . This tent wasn't a problem. I watched the instruction video and tried it out in the backyard. Super easy. Great features like the skylights and tucked away guide ropes. Plenty of room for myself and two teenagers. Was worried about the packing up of the tent and not having room in the carry bag, no problems there. Love the extended awning when you have no shade at your campsite. Price wise a little expensive but worth the investment when you love camping. The delivery from Snowys was great. Quick delivery and up to date tracking. Super excited to go camping.
Purchased this tent to use for longer trips outside of hiking. When the tent arrived, we put it up in the back yard to test it out. It's huge! We could easily fit two adults plus our four kids in this if required. We purchased for just the two of us though plus have room to spread out if there is adverse weather. For a novice, it was super easy to erect.A week later we headed off on our first trip to Wallaman Falls, arrived in the evening and put the tent up in the drizzling rain. We knew rain was expected but since the tent was huge we weren't concerned. It bucketed rain all night and not one leak!Unfortunately we were evacuated the next morning as torrential rain was expected so we had to pack up and return home in a hurry. We knew rain was expected but since the tent was huge we weren't concerned. It bucketed rain all night and not one leak!Unfortunately we were evacuated the next morning as torrential rain was expected so we had to pack up and return home in a hurry. We put the tent up straight away so we could clean the mud off etc before we packed it away.Well it decided to rain for two weeks in Townsville and after about three days in our yard, the ground was too soft to hold it the pegs down. The weight of the rain and lack of tension caused two poles on the roof structure (hub) to break, plus puncture two small holes in a window shade.Best news was that you can buy replacement parts for this tent! Just about every part is replaceable. I contacted Black Wolf who recommended the repair tape and glue for the holes. Parts arrived in five days.Followed the online instructions to replace the poles in the hub (not quite as easy as they made it look) but its fixed, maybe a 30 minute job, not five. So, put the tent up in the yard for a third time to test it and make sure it was clean and dry so we could pack it away.Overall, quality is excellent and well worth the money. You cannot compare this to other tents as I really do believe it is far superior. The selling point for me was the awning and that you can buy add ons items for this as well.I didn't know this before my purchase but the fact you can get replacement parts if needed is reassuring.Had read other reviews concerned about how it fits back in the bag but this was really easy. I'm pretty sure if required, one person could do this on their own.And after all the rain we had? Not one drop inside.Since we have put it up more times in our yard than actually camping with it, we are keen to get out and try again.
We just put our new tent through it's paces and it passed with flying colours. While it is not a five minute job to set it up properly with all the ropes it is much less fiddly than a dome tent and it wont get wet inside if it's raining. We had a little condensation but nothing more than dampness, never beading and wetting anything. The true test was about 40-50mm of rain in about an hour as well as pretty violent wind (made short work of our separate tarp), the tent was literally floating in an inch and half of water and everything stayed dry and we powered on. Other tents were being binned as about a quarter of the campground packed up to go home.
A longer term review having spent nearly 4 months living under the turbo plus 300 over the past year or so. We are a family of four. This is a big tent - heavy and needs a roof rack. Strongly recommend separating the poles and fly from the tent, keeping the latter in a second bag. It makes it manageable loading and packing/unpacking. The included pegs are good - but supapegs are a wise investment. For long term use around Australia the tent has performed very well, holding off rain and staying upright in strong winds. Fine without the fly in fine weather. Putting it up is mostly straight forward, although the rear section's poles need care. The ventilation is good - but all tents will have condensation. Some of the internal plastic fittings could be better - the hooks are a bit flimsy, but this is minor. Spares can be had. This isnt a tent for everybody. It is very bulky and tough to handle. But for long term family touring use and overall resilience, its a great buy.
The turbo 300 replaced a lighter duty tent that couldn't take high winds. It's an ideal size for a family of four, with plenty of space, ventilation and durability.Putting it up is easy, as is packing.Do note this is a heavy duty touring tent and it is big and heavy. We have the fly and poles in a separate bag, making it easier to handle when travelling. Roof rack storage is necessary without a ute tray.Great quality all round and even the pegs are high quality.
Put the tent up in 20+ knots of wind, in Lakes Entrance during the last weather event. It was easy despite the wind (the fly was a bit difficult, but worked form the up wind side and used some pegs to stop it āflyingā away) Once up, with the optional annex walls up as well, we were dry, secure and warm. There was a storm that night with wind gusts in excess of 30 knots, the tent was a safe place out of it all. After a week of 4 degree nights 27 degree days, high winds, driving rain and some beautiful weather, the pack up was easy, with every thing going back into the bags with minimal trouble. Except for the frog that had decided that the tent was also a safe place to live. It was returned to the local creek. For the last few years we used for our camping needs hiking-style tent which was easy to pack and fit easily in our backpack. The tent was over 10 years old and started showing some wear and tear. As we getting older we need some comfort so we decided to look into some full size tent which wouldn't be difficult to put up and would last some time. In a course of few months we viewed and inspected number of tents but were always drawn back to the Black Wolf Turbo Canvas. So before the lead up to our trip to US and Burning Man last year we purchased the Black Wolf Turbo Canvas 300 with the screen room and canvas side panels to use in the awning. So before the lead up to our trip to US and Burning Man last year we purchased the Black Wolf Turbo Canvas 300 with the screen room and canvas side panels to use in the awning. Due to some unforeseen circumstances we had to sell our tickets for Burning Man and adjust our travel plans so we were not able to hard-code-test the tent in the harsh environment of the desert and the tent stayed home here in Sydney until last month when we finally took it for a spin. During our camping adventure we were āluckyā to experience all sort of weather conditions from windy, cold, hot and heaps of rain. The tent withstood it all without any sign of injury. The tent is incredibly easy to put up. Itās better if two people are on to the task but it can be done in one. The small pockets at the beginning of each of the securing strings are very clever and handy detail. The quality seem to be very high. Some of the stitching seems to be not finished properly and will see with more use how they manage. The big windows coverings have the ability to be rolled up and secured with handy loops, closed entirely and secured with velcro at the bottom of the window or be unzipped on the side and let open only from the bottom. Now I have some issue with the last mentioned. When you unzip the the sides and want to just have just the āventā open you have to secure them with pegs and string to the ground which is quite dumb. Not sure how to go around that but if you want to open the windows entirely you would have to un-peg them again etc. We purchased 2 side panels, 1 front panel and the screen room to use under the awning. I love the zipper, they are easy to put together and make the connection very sturdy and firm. I canāt say the same about the velcro connections. I would use them only for the small part like are the loops for securing the tent to the poles or closing the window flaps. I find the long velcro strips to be very āfiddleā and they donāt make really nice sturdy and smooth connection. Another thing about the velcro stripes are they easily get covered in debris, dirt etc. I recommend to use additional tarp under the tent. The main reason is to keep the bottom of the tent free of any dirt. You will appreciate it when packing up your tent. I have one HUGE minus to the bag the tent is packed in. As the tent is quite heavy the bag should be much sturdier. Our bag have already some punctured and holes on the side the poles were. Wheels on the bag should definitely be and most certainly some protection from both sided to avoid any damage to the tent. We are about to go camping to Victoria and flying our tent there. I am already worried how this will end knowing how the airlines handle luggage. Bubble wrapping the tent seems like good idea now but shouldnāt be needed considering the price tag.
