The only thing missing is the power supply, but I happened to have a spare USB charger handy. I plugged it in and it fired right up. The blue LED on the front panel blinks until it connects to the phone, and then remains on the whole time, confirming both power and connectivity. The next thing that surprised me is that it remembers my phone. So each time I power it up, it automatically reconnects to my phone in a couple of seconds. I don't think it could be easier to setup and use. I plug in the power and get to work and I don't have to think about it. Probably one of the best purchases I have made in years.

A superb sounding little device, true hi-fi quality. Perhaps a slightly narrower soundstage than CD but none the less a brilliant listen and the more I use it the more I like it. I find myself listening to it all day without getting tired. I have in fact recommended this to several friends and I will be purchasing a couple more for my kids. I use Apple Music so I have several thousand albums on my iCloud and what a fantastic way to play them. The inbuilt DAC is superior to using your iPhone through headphones also. What an absolute bargain this is but please beware that the price on eBay in the UK doesnt include 20% vat and is only added on when you come to pay for it.

I wanted the Audioengine B1. However it was out of my budget. I found this and was skeptical but bit the bullet. Glad I did!! All cables ever required are included. RCA AUX to female RCA Optical cable USB Power The DAC used is the TI PCM5102A. - Using as independent DAC. When comparing this DAC to the audioengine DAC in the D1 and B1 (AKM4396), I didn't notice any glaring difference, none at all really from MY experience. No volume difference. I couldn't test till distortion since it got loud enough that it would disturb neighborhood. I would say get this and save half the price. I tested using the Bludento and Audioengine D1 independently and connected together (using optical) and noticed no difference. - Connection Pairing was quick and easy. Connection distance was decent. I don't have a massive house but I used from opposite corners (through walls etc.) and stuttered once, then carried on. Another time I just moved across 2 rooms and if the signal had to pass through my body, it stuttered worse. For me it's fine, I'm not in a mansion. - Build Quality It's a very similar design to my Audioengine D1, but the silver has a slightly greener tint (in case you wanted a matching setup). Not a big deal. It's slightly lighter than the D1, and sounds morehollow when tapped. Unfortunately, I am unable to take apart the product. I could only guess and say it's due to the materials, heatsink or components used beating cheaper. The wires are on the cheaper side too, but rather get wires than have none. If one just looks at them, side by side, the difference isn't noticeable. I stand it right next to the D1 and it looks like a pair. Unfortunately the logo stands out. Saying all this, I am very happy with the build quality. - Delivery Arrived a week early from China to UK . Very good compact and dense packaging. I can definitely recommend this product. All tests done using KEF R100 speakers and Yamaha AS500 Amplifier. Used Spotify High Quality and Deezer HiFi.

This is a great addition to your hi fi set up and brings your not so new system right up to date. This provides high, near CD sound quality via APT x bluetooth. Very easy to install and set up. Nice compact design and comes complete with a whole range of connection leads including optical lead. The unit itself is lightweight and nicely proportioned. It can be easily hidden out of sight if required. However, there are a couple of minor downsides. Firstly, although a power lead (normal USB lead) is also provided, for some reason the necessary power adapter is not included in the package. This is not a big issue as any USB adapter will do the job but as these are not that expensive it's a bit of a mystery as to why they don't simply increase the price to cover the cost ... MoreThis is a great addition to your hi fi set up and brings your not so new system right up to date. If you don't you'll have to put up with the bluetooth pairing light flashing continuously. Overall in terms of sound, quality and build I highly recommend this product.
Out of the box it's resurrected my dusty surround sound receiver!! Box had: cables for power - used an empty USB slot in my Wii - optical cable (used an empty CD optical in on the receiver) 2 more cables that go into my "cable snakes" box. Sound quality is excellent. Bluetooth shows up on every device in the room immediately - connects immediately. $50 saved me money and eliminated the need for a new receiver. So, so happy. I have to set my input device at half volume - and use my receivers features for volume in the room. I'm currently running a 1st Gen Ipod (a throwaway in some households) through the BT - streaming TuneIn radio works flawlessly and sounds great. No more tiny phone speakers - or small footprint BT can speakers. I'm on the lookout for another high ... MoreOut of the box it's resurrected my dusty surround sound receiver!! This little device is definitely a hi-fi kind. I connected it to my hi-fi system and use it for everyday, casual listening. For active listening I have another, real DAC, which is far better, but also about 10 times more expensive. Of course I made an A-B comparison between the two, which may seem unfair considering their prices, but BluDento surprised me in a good way. I find it sounds natural, which I really like. In the last few years I've had four different and very well rated dacs and I got rid of them because they sounded artificial to me. This is simply not the case with cheap BluDento, its sound is more analog like. Although it lacks the finest details, the soundstage recreation is good, even better in depth than in width, at least in my system. I connect ... MoreThis little device is definitely a hi-fi kind. I connect three different sources to BluDento, depending on which one I use at a given time. Switching Bluetooth connections between devices is flawless. The only significant drawback of this device is the low sound output level, so you should turn up the volume on the amp or preamp. If only one optical digital input were added for use as a regular dac, it would be even better.
I already own the Audioengine B1 (142-99p) and was so impressed I was keeping an eye on ebay for a 2nd hand one for a second system when I spotted the Bludento at 44 and took a chance ......and am so glad I did !! Its clearly based on the Audioengine in terms of function and design and is available in grey or blue (though you will have to search for the grey one as it isn't offered in a drop down menu and is separately listed by the same company (which I didn't find out until after I'd ordered the blue one ! :-( It arrived from China fairly swiftly (8-10 days ???) I was worried there may be an import duty charge but thankfully there was no tax to pay (been caught by this before when ordering from abroad) !! I was worried there may be an import duty charge but thankfully there was no tax to pay (been caught by this before when ordering from abroad) !! The Bludento comes with RCA and optical cables and usb to micro usb charging cable all included to hook it up to your system. It is a doddle to pair as you just connect it and plug it in and it immediately goes into 'search' mode and finds available devices ready to pair. The sound quality is excellent and far superior to the bluetooth 4 adaptor it replaced on my 2nd system . Sound wise it is not quite as good as the Audioengine....Don't get me wrong its 95% as good at just under a quarter of the price so is a no brainer and if my Audioengine fails in the future, I would without question happily replace it with another Bludento !!!. The only slight annoyances are it doesn't come with an on off button and the blue led pairing button is a bit big and bright. Also at the end of each use you MUST disconnect it ... NOT unpair, just 'right click ' BLT-2 in your devices bluetooth menu and ' disconnect ' (it is the same for the Audioengine) otherwise next time you go to use it, it will 'say' connected to audio but no sound will come out and you will think its faulty and be scratching your head ! ( yeah ....been there done that ! LOL) An on/off button would be useful, especially for my particular situation as the old hifi separates system I am using it with has the Bludento plugged into a cheap DAC via optical cable so that I can connect via RCA to my amp (no optical port) and the 'mains plug/usb power supply' for the whole system is hard to get to behind heavy furniture to turn it off each time I didn't want to leave the Bludento on 24/7 as its a 2nd system that isn't used as frequently as my main system and I don't want to be pulling the charging cable in and out every time I've finished using it (as 'usb ports' can be the weak link in devices) so to get around this I purchased a usb extender cable (which was only 2-75 on ebay) which is run from the DAC to connect to the Bludento's usb and just connect/disconnect by removing the usb from the extender ie. leaving the micro usb permanently connected to the unit ( ie the usb extender is the 'bridge' which is cheaply replaced if needs be thereby protecting the units micro usb port from undue wear and tear. Am very pleased I purchased this item and have no hesitation in recommending it to give you great quality audio streaming your Spotify or locally stored music via bluetooth. Excellent purchase - buy one before they put the prices up ! :-)
PRO's: Quick pairing...VERY good fidelity, and decent range! Good looks and build quality too! CON's: Just one...You must unplug to pair for a second or new device connection. In other words, there is no Pairing Button which isn't a big deal for me. This device goes into Paring Mode when it powers up, and becomes visible on your phone almost immediately. That said, if the absence of a Pairing" button isn't a big deal to you, get it...you'll be glad you did!
Having read good reviews about the competitors much more expensive Audioengine b1, I decided to look for a Bluetooth (BT) receiver that was not at the bottom of the price scale, but somewhere in between. After looking at many different brands and options (which include NFC, "3D sound", headphone amplifier, etc), I decided to go with the bluDento BLT-2 because: - Construction of the unit is solid and pretty similar to the Audioengine b1. It has the same location for the led, antenna, power input, etc. The aluminum profile extrusion is pretty similar and the use of socket head screws is the same. - The DAC used in the b1 is the AKM AK4396. The BLT-2 uses the Texas PCM5102A which at a quick glance of the specs, seems to be equal or better. - Connectivity of the BLT-2 ... MoreHaving read good reviews about the competitors much more expensive Audioengine b1, I decided to look for a Bluetooth (BT) receiver that was not at the bottom of the price scale, but somewhere in between. The BLT-2 uses the Texas PCM5102A which at a quick glance of the specs, seems to be equal or better. - Connectivity of the BLT-2 is better, given the option of coaxial output that does not exist in the b1. I received the unit 15 days after placing my order, in a very solid box, neatly packed. I did notice that nowhere in the box is bluDento or BLT-2 written. BLT-2 shows up in the instruction booklet, but not on its cover. By the way, the booklet is written in clear English. The unit included RCA, 3.5mm stereo to RCA, Optical and power USB cables. It does not include the 5V, 200mA power adapter required, which is somewhat disappointing. I used the RCA cables and noticed them to be flimsy, and they connect loosely both on the BLT-2 and amplifier. I would prefer to feel them to be snug and somewhat beefier. I took the unit apart to check the quality of the electronics, and found it to be very well designed and very well constructed. I was gladly surprised. Pairing and connecting to Bluetooth sources is a breeze. It works flawlessly. I did not experience sound interruptions even when I was using the source to transfer music files via Bluetooth, while at the same time playing music through the BLT-2 Not having another BT receiver to compare to, I decided to compare the quality of the sound by playing an original CD in my sound system CD player, and the ripped mp3 at 320kbps playing on my laptop. I noticed that the CD reproduction gave better bass, and a more realistic presentation than the mp3 files through the BLT-2, but in any case good bass and clean trebles, as well as good dynamic range were present. I then decided to play the same mp3 files on my Galaxy Note-4 phone; my surprise was that there was almost no difference to the quality of the sound from the CD player!! So keep in mind, that your BT source has a lot to do with the quality of the sound. It is my opinion that most listeners will be very satisfied with the BLT-2. I would suggest to Shezhen Audio Tech, the manufacturer of the BLT-2 to: - Include the power adapter - Include a power switch - Include slightly better RCA cables - Perhaps consider producing a BT receiver that includes a USB port as to stream music from a USB memory stick. In any case, I am pleased with my decision, and did order a second BLT-2 for my friend.
This device connects a modern smartphone easily via bluetooth to a stereo set so you combine the convenience of the smartphone with a high quality music playback at the stereo set. Unlike most rather reasonably priced bluetooth adapters this one employs a separate digital-analogue-converter-chip to enable audiophile grade sound output at the analog RCA jacks. I believe that the well- and natural-sounding Texas Instruments (former Burr Brown) PCM5102A is the key to the nice sound quality of this device: proper bass, fine treble and natural ambience of the music which are unlikely to be found in most bluetooth adapters are included here. I doubt that Arcam's or Audioengine*s offers (the latter probably influenced the optical appearance of this deivice) at more than twice the price have real sonic advantages and believe that the Texas Instruments DAC chip is the best choice in this price spectrum. If you want more, this adapter - unlike its more expensive siblings - offers optical and electrical digital output so one can make use of a separate DAC box or connect to the digital input of an AV-Receiver (& all outputs work at the same time). Apart fromt the good sound and the fine looks of its metal box which has better shielding effects than cheap plastic cases, this adapter is also easy to use and works at an extensive range (but don't expect too much from bluetooth which was made for short distances). It supports modern bluetooth 5.0 and the sound-conserving Apt-X/AAC transmission standard which evades re-encoding already compressend music. I do not know of any more complete bluetooth adapter. Considering its nice sound which can hardly be distinguished from an uncompressed CD (of course depending on the quality of the stereo system) I believe this is as much as is possible within the bandwith-limited bluetooth standard that doesn`t work without compression. You definitely hear the difference towards an adapter for half the price, but I doubt that you regret anything if you compare this product to others at more than twice its price!
