I'm sure these are great for summer rolls but the instructions say can be cooked so I tried to do just that and they went crisp on the edges but the middles stayes soft and chewy. Blue Dragon need to rename these and not put cooking instructions on. These would probably cook if used without filling and made into deep fried crackers or something? But yeh not good. And bland too!

Used other spring roll wrappers from Asian stores never had problem with wraps ripping apart before even rolling them soaked one by one in water room temperature enoughto be pliable the whole batch had slits in center was a waste. Could be a bad lot but will never buy this brand again will only get from Asian stores was a little cheaper but not worth it! Forgot to take photos unfortunately!

Ok firstly to those that only gave 1 These are rice sheets that are clear not a pastry. I personally love them. They are fiddly but Im sure I will get more proficient over time. I love the creativity they inspire for left overs and also theres so much more that can be made with them - sweet or savoury. Yesterday, I had a load of chopped cabbage left over from our Sunday dinner. I had some other veg and a piece of chicken. I finely chopped everything adding an onion and garlic as well as seasoning, dash of bbq sauce, chilli and five spice. I then filled the rolls with the Sunday hash up making parcels which I served up with a bbq dip and salad. I would love to hear others creative endeavours with the rice wrappers

These are the soft, slightly gelatinous summer roll wrappers but are very versatile. I put in noodles and stir fry. I was worried that I wouldnt be able to handle them but they turned out great. Here are my tips for using them. You need: - A plate larger than the summer roll for the water - Chopping board - Filling To use: 1. Add luke warm/coldish water to the plate ready to soak the wrapper. Colder water slows down process of softening, which makes them easier to handle (but it still only takes seconds) 2. Put one wrapper in the cold water, submerge, turn over, submerge again. Swish around a little making sure water gets to edges (for few more seconds). Remove wrapper from water while STILL stiffish. Dont worry, the water will keep working and soften it. 3. Lift ... MoreThese are the soft, slightly gelatinous summer roll wrappers but are very versatile. I put in noodles and stir fry. Food in the sides one at a time then roll 6 Done!
I found these listed on a top recommended spring roll wrapper brands but I beg to differ. They consistently split open after being rolled, even when I try a shorter soaking time (5 seconds instead of 10). I don’t think it was how they were stored as there aren’t visible cracks before soaking. I think they are just flimsy and you pretty much need to double wrap your roll for it to stay intact. Also these are not for frying, couldn’t help but notice all those comments. These are for Vietnamese spring rolls.
Love these rice wrappers. I have a large baking dish full of warm water to soften them in, cut up my ingredients before hand and quickly roll up loads of rolls. Great summer meal, snack or for picnics. Tip - dont over stuff your filling to prevent tears. I use shredded vegetables, rice noodles, tofu/mushrooms, mint and coriander in mine. You can also stuff them with fruit like mango and strawberry which Ive not tried yet. To be fair you can fill them with anything :)
Not sure what went wrong but why did Blue Dragon change the recipe of these rice paper rolls? This rice paper roll tastes bad and has an aftertaste. I made rice paper rolls yesterday and discovered that these were not very sticky and they all came out almost gooey. The previous blue dragon rice paper rolls were much better. Not sure why they changed it. I cannot recommend these at all.
I use these for fresh or deep fried spring rolls. Because I am gf, I cannot use the normal spring roll wrappers for deep frying, these work well for that but of course aren't as good as the gluten wrappers you get from the far East markets for deep frying (if you are looking for Chinese style rolls). Still, they are the best for Vietnamese rolls, fresh or fried.
I don't think it was me but these wrappers were a absolute disaster .After preparing the filling and letting it go cold I made the rolls following the instructions.I attempted to deep fry them but they just disintegrated in the fryer and the filling was all in the oil. The wrappers went into a soggy jelly like mess. I then tried shallow frying but the same happened again and it was all a sticky mess. Then I tried baking them in the oven but this did not work either .What a waste of my time and the cost of the ingredients. I have no idea now how to cook these wrappers and I was very careful not to overfill them. I have made spring rolls over many years but whatever the wrappers are made from it does not work.I cannot recommend these.
I made spring rolls with dried pork mince and a medley of vegetables. I got the hang of it by the time I made the second roll. I used lukewarm, not hot water, to soften the rice paper. I'll buy this again and will recommend it. 15 seconds in water is too long for the wrap to be in water. It's a pity the instructions on the packaging are misleading.
