Blue Lizard Kids SPF 50+ Mineral Sunscreen does exactly what it’s supposed to. It was super light scented, easy to open and it let out an equally distributed mist. My son is always afraid of getting things in his eyes, but wasn’t phased by this because of how gentle the mist actually was. He used this two days in a row, once to go to a baseball game in 90 degree heat and the other to go swimming in. I reapplied after a few hours just because I’m a cautious parent, but honestly I think he would have been fine! Not to mention, the aesthetic appeal was a plus, because my son loves animals and he thought the “blue lizard” was pretty cool.

This sunscreen is absolutely wild. I will give it props on not being greasy or smelly. HOWEVER…this stuff is an absolute mess. After I applied it, I started noticing and white yet iridescent trail wherever I went. My purse, my phone, my glasses, the seats of my car, my steering wheel-even the outside of my car! I used this in June it’s now August and I still can’t get it off the interior and exterior of my car. Would not recommend this product.

I have a pale complexion that burns. I was in direct sun for 7 hours in high UV index, floating on a tube in a lake. Applied once at noon, again at 3:00. No hint of a burn. I applied very generously. Thick formula but rubs in well with some work. Highly water resistant, to the point where it's kind of hard to scrub off in the shower after lake day. Great ingredients, didn't burn my eyes.

If you want to find a good sunblock, ask a naturist. This is the BEST sunblock you will find. Other brands that are chemical-based burn my eyes no matter how careful I am. Blue Lizard does not affect my eyes at all. Mineral sunblock is the way to go! It may cost more than other brands, but a little goes a long way. It spreads smoothly, and blends in rather quickly. Also, I do not need to re-apply as often as I did with other brands. I have been out in full sun for 4 hours, and only re-applied at that point out of caution. It doesn't get stripped off (pun intended) in the pool. It does wash off easily with soap. I sunburn very easily, and Blue Lizard has kept me safe all over. Used this on my whole family for a very sunny day at a theme park. Not only were there no sunburns (we're all very pale blondes and burn super easy) but I could actually feel a difference in temperature on my skin where the sunscreen was and wasn't (cooler where the sunscreen was). It's heavy on your skin but I don't think anything that isn't really works in my experience. The cap turning purple in the sun is cool and a good reminder to use it. A little goes a fairly long way, too. You definitely have to rub it in and I think it does leave me looking a bit paler but it's worth it not to be burned imo.
I was hesitant to get an SPF 50 zinc oxide sunscreen, thinking it would be a goopy mess and leave me ghost white, but no! This sunscreen is actually amazing. Granted it is a thick white lotion when you first put it on, but as soon as you massage it in a little the whiteness disappears. It only leaves my skin maybe a teensy bit lighter than my normal skin tone, but nothing too noticeable- I can still go out in public looking normal. I use this both on my face and body, but if you're looking for more of an everyday face sunscreen to wear under makeup, I am not sure how you would feel about this. I can def put makeup on over it if I go out to eat after the pool, but I primarily use this as a pool sunscreen, and for that it's fantastic. No smell, either.
Bought this for my 3-4YO. Used it consecutively on some of the hottest days at the beach. She never once burned. However, she got very very tan. So did my 18m old who we used it on recently because we were all out of his ThinkBaby mineral sunscreen. It wasn’t even that hot of a day here in NY and he had distinct tan lines. So, this leads me to believe it is not enough protection. I will be using ThinkBaby brand moving forward on both my children. If you are concerned about the white cast it leaves which I’ve tried many brands for me and my littles…pretty much all the mineral sunscreens are going to have that. Who cares as long as it protects your skin and there’s little to no harmful chemicals. Yes it is annoying rubbing it in but sure beats your children having ... MoreBought this for my 3-4YO. SO greasy…and has a terrible white cast. once you start blending it looks like a blue/purple color. If your deciding wether to get it….then don’t. The good reviews on here are misleading. I couldn’t find the sunscreen I wanted so i settled with this. I heard good things because it’s gentle on sensitive skin but i’m returning it and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
We love Blue Lizard Products! Firstly, this sunscreen WORKS! This blends in easy and stays on. No bad scent. Most importantly, it prevents sunburn really well. It’s also been good our kids with sensitive skin. We will continue to buy this product. It’s definitely worth it!
i bought this for daily use all over the body and it was expensive, but i was under the impression that if it was australian it was probably good. i have since learned that it’s not even sold in australia, which is very deceptive imo. i’m returning it immediately. it leaves a horrible white cast, and i am lightest-shade-of-foundation pale, i cant imagine how bad it would be on deeper skin tones. i could maybe look past it if it wasn’t terrible to wear. it rubbed off onto my clothes, my furniture, my shoes, the seats of my car, everything i touched. it felt like i was wearing white paint that hadn’t dried. it was also incredibly greasy. after wearing it for about 4-5 hours i had to take a shower just to wash it off because i was so uncomfortable. and you have to ... Morei bought this for daily use all over the body and it was expensive, but i was under the impression that if it was australian it was probably good. i have since learned that it’s not even sold in australia, which is very deceptive imo. i’m returning it immediately. it leaves a horrible white cast, and i am lightest-shade-of-foundation pale, i cant imagine how bad it would be on deeper skin tones. i could maybe look past it if it wasn’t terrible to wear. it rubbed off onto my clothes, my furniture, my shoes, the seats of my car, everything i touched. it felt like i was wearing white paint that hadn’t dried. it was also incredibly greasy. after wearing it for about 4-5 hours i had to take a shower just to wash it off because i was so uncomfortable. and you have to really scrub or use an oil cleanser to really remove it - which makes me wonder how it managed to get all over everything i own. this stuff is terrible. i don’t know what a better option might be, but this it not it.
