The XS is smaller than you think! But that is fine, I wanted a small umbrella I could easily stash in my Chrome Industry bag. The star-like shape is a bit weird and looks like it would not fully cover like a traditional umbrella, but I found that in reality it is does not make a real difference.Truly resists gusts and very strong winds! It's really a well constructed umbrella; mine flipped once inside out with a very, very strong wind, but without any damage to the structure.I bought the camo color, it's not really discreet, but it's perfect as none of my colleagues would 'accidentally' leave with it thinking it's theirs. Also when people are looking for me in a crowd for whatever reason, it's very easy to spot me: "yes I see you, I'm across the street from you, ... MoreThe XS is smaller than you think! I bought a Metro UV umbrella for walking outside in the city during the harsh glaring sunshine of our Australian summer. This umbrella is easy to open & very effective at keeping cooler outside. Way better than wearing a hat. It also works just fine in the rain as well. The curved corners are a great innovation - no need to worry about poking out anyone’s eyes. The only thing I would wish for is a smaller folded size so it can fit in my smallish cross body bag. I rigged up a cross body strap by looping it through the branding tags - however some attachment points at either end would allow greater flexibility in ways it can be carried. The yellow colour is lovely - a white version would also be a light neutral colour for walking in the sun.

It remained taught but flexed just enough when harsh winds where thrown against itThe extending and collapsing mechanism of the umbrella is good. I don't have to deal with bare metal or weak latches that deform after some use.The way they've done the stitching: If they hadn't done it they way they did, it would have surely gone the way of your typical supermarket umbrella.Design:I find the umbrella aesthetically pleasing and it's durability outstanding. The size for this fold up isn't really a problem for me due to the sleeve. That and I just chuck the thing in my backpack anyway so space isn't really a problem. The Blunt branding is pretty much everywhere but from across the street I doubt others will notice it and it isn't obnoxious.Issues, Problems, Flaws:The handle on the umbrella wobbles. This is unacceptable for an umbrella of this price. How is this still a problem in modern umbrellas at this price point? This isn't for tall people. The sizing of the canopy may be technically correct but do take notice of the pictures. The umbrella curves in around the points. I'd rather much have a full sized umbrella compared to this. However, that doesn't discount always having a durable small umbrella on hand for emergencies. You require conscious effort to ensure the umbrella collapsing lock actually engages. Sometimes it does and others it doesn't. You need to pay attention to it and forcefully push it into place until you hear the not single but subtler double click. This is annoying. I double click it, take my hand off it and then it explodes into me and more importantly the people around me on the bus.You need to fold the umbrella properly each and every time you try to put it into the sleeve. I believe the compression zipper thing on the sleeve could be much better. Particularly in cases when you kinda just need to chuck it in there cause you will be taking it out later to dry anyway. In conclusion:3/5 Various Pros and ConsAm I going to toss this out? No. For the sole reason that I don't want to have to buy other umbrellas again and again. This was also quite the investment. This sure has it's flaws but it being relegated to emergency duty at the bottom of the backpack is fine for me. It does it's job. The canopy system is fantastic and I'll definitely be looking into getting a bigger full sized one to put in the car or something. If the handle didn't wobble, I would have easily overlooked the other annoyances like the closing and sleeve. If you're built smaller and are ok with the little annoyances then this might be right up your alley.

This is a really stylish umbrella. However, due to the inverted scalloped edges, the actual dimensions are 100cm at the widest and 80cm at the narrowest.Fine if you are a tiny person or the rain only falls vertically,I gifted mine to a tiny person.I dont recommend this one.
Always love a Blunt. Sadly lost mine but picked up this little beauty half price! Online click and collect was super easy. Very efficient response and ready in a matter of hours. Very friendly and engaging staff at Newmarket when I picked it up.
We have owned about six of these Blunt Metros. They're the best umbrellas around. The green is lovely and perfect for work. If you take care with these umbrellas, they'll last forever. My tip is to guide it when it's opening up so it's gentle on the fabric and the metal parts. Excellent product. Thanks.

I do like this umbrella, but wouldn’t pay the full price. I bought it on sale. You’re paying mainly for the design (there’s nothing else like it and it is pretty innovative) and it definitely is a bit more durable than a regular umbrella, but nothing mind-blowing like you’d expect. The Velcro strap that wraps around the umbrella to keep it closed is pretty terrible and barely sticksI think 100kph wind durability is a laugh - I had one big gust of wind turn this umbrella inside out, but given the round edges, there aren’t any spikes that stick out which is nice.As far as compact umbrellas go, this is the least compact, but it’s by no means large as I can keep it in my bottle holder on my bag just fine.I really quite like this umbrella and it’s design and ... MoreI do like this umbrella, but wouldn’t pay the full price. Was choosing between Blunt and Davek umbrella and decided to go with Blunt based on many positive reviews. Nevertheless, when I got my Blunt Metro umbrella I was quite disappointed with the following:- The umbrella arrived without any protecting packaging - just in it's original box just with the sticky tape used to prevent the box opening;- The mechanism of the umbrella seems to be very weak - when you press the auto open button it does not open completely sometimes and in this case you need to assist with hand to lock the mechanism;- Manual closing - I think for the premium umbrella it should be auto closing;- Opening button on the handle is hard to find and you have to take a close look to locate it.I see just two positives:- Light weight;- Unusual ... MoreWas choosing between Blunt and Davek umbrella and decided to go with Blunt based on many positive reviews. Will gift my Blunt umbrella to someone and go for the alternative.
I am a multiple Blunt umbrella owner, a metro being my latest purchase. On first impression one might think that the size is a little too small for chaps. However, if travelling it packs away easily, therefore, eliminating any fear of loss or damage in transit. Furthermore it is large enough to provide sufficient protection from the rain, etc.Laugh all you like, but, in the midday heat of a strong sunny day it offers more UV protection than a hat and keeps one’s head cooler too.
