I bought a Metro UV umbrella for walking outside in the city during the harsh glaring sunshine of our Australian summer. This umbrella is easy to open & very effective at keeping cooler outside. Way better than wearing a hat. It also works just fine in the rain as well. The curved corners are a great innovation - no need to worry about poking out anyone’s eyes. The only thing I would wish for is a smaller folded size so it can fit in my smallish cross body bag. I rigged up a cross body strap by looping it through the branding tags - however some attachment points at either end would allow greater flexibility in ways it can be carried. The yellow colour is lovely - a white version would also be a light neutral colour for walking in the sun.

I double click it, take my hand off it and then it explodes into me and more importantly the people around me on the bus.You need to fold the umbrella properly each and every time you try to put it into the sleeve. I believe the compression zipper thing on the sleeve could be much better. Particularly in cases when you kinda just need to chuck it in there cause you will be taking it out later to dry anyway.In conclusion:3/5 Various Pros and ConsAm I going to toss this out? No. For the sole reason that I don't want to have to buy other umbrellas again and again. This was also quite the investment. This sure has it's flaws but it being relegated to emergency duty at the bottom of the backpack is fine for me. It does it's job. The canopy system is fantastic and I'll definitely be looking into getting a bigger full sized one to put in the car or something. If the handle didn't wobble, I would have easily overlooked the other annoyances like the closing and sleeve.If you're built smaller and are ok with the little annoyances then this might be right up your alley.

I like the orange colour as it stands out on dark rainy nights. The style is different and eye-catching. I received the umbrella today and tested it out in Vancouver. It was light rain with some wind. No wind warning issued so it wasn't really windy. I tested it against the wind and the shaft locking mechanism is weak. The wind pushed the umbrella down its shaft almost squishing my hand. I tested it with the same direction as the wind and to my surprise the umbrella flipped in low wind despite Blunt saying their umbrellas are inversion resistant and in extreme circumstances the umbrella may invert. I've had umbrellas at half the price and the shafts have never ever collapsed even in the strongest winds.
I’ve had three of different sizes including this model. I waterblasted and scrubbed one after being submerged in Cyclone Gabrielle mud and although a bit discoloured didn’t go rusty. A bit of silicone on the metal and it has another life.

Contiplating about returning it since I found the same umbrella elsewhere for a tad cheaper but it's probably not worth the hassle. I purchased the Hunter Green. It's a nice color. Fabric is of higher quality then the typical umbrella and the "blunt" feature is excellent. The "pole" part is wiggly and a tad flimsy. For the price I paid it should be built better. I started off with the Blunt Classic, which was superb in quality, but it is not travel friendly for me at all (I'm a woman) so I returned it and got the Metro, which IS travel friendly but just not made as well as the Classic at all, AND I paid the same price since the Classic was on sale. However it has been advertised that the Metro was tested in 55mi mi an hr winds (the classic in 75 mi an hr winds) so Im assuming MOST of us won't be walking around in winds that strong. Lol. So for "regular" storms it should be sufficient.

I am a multiple Blunt umbrella owner, a metro being my latest purchase.On first impression one might think that the size is a little too small for chaps. However, if travelling it packs away easily, therefore, eliminating any fear of loss or damage in transit. Furthermore it is large enough to provide sufficient protection from the rain, etc.Laugh all you like, but, in the midday heat of a strong sunny day it offers more UV protection than a hat and keeps one’s head cooler too.
