Normally I buy unfortified nutritional yeast to avoid questionable additives. When my favorite brand was not available, I decided to try Bob's Red Mill nooch. Bob's products are consistently high quality, and this product maintains that record. It adds a nice, cheesy flavor to salads, casseroles and other dishes. Another winner from Bob's Red Mill.

I love this type of nutritional yeast. Im 46 and was noticing a few grey hairs. I discovered that when i ate 2-4 tablespoons of nutritional yeast each day on my vegtables, my greys lessened and receded. This yeast is fortified with B vitamins, and they are not methylated. This is an issue for individuals who cant break down that form. So i recently purchased non-fortified nutritional yeast, and I'll see if it has the same hair restorative effects! I havent tried it yet.

Nutritional yeast or Nooch for short helped me transition into a mainly plant-based diet. It has a cheesy and nutty flavor so I sprinkle a lot of it on salads, pasta, scrambled eggs, baked potatoes and as for substitute for cheese and cheese sauces. My teeners don’t mind. They still enjoy their favourite dishes like dauphinoise potatoes when I use nooch instead of cheese.There’s a recipe at the back of the bag , Cashew No-Cheese Sauce. It’s wonderful for pasta, vegetables and “cream” soups. The kids still love my leek & potato soup with nooch and cashew.Nooch is now part of our diet as it is agood source of B vitamins and protein.Other brands don’t differ in taste and price. But I like the fact that Bob’s is an employee- owned company.

I remember reading vegan recipes that call for n. yeast. I cannot imagine adding it to anything other than popcorn. Bob's Red Mill nutritional yeast has a different nutritional profile than other brands, I wonder how they make it and why they differ. I like this the best but it is more expensive. its complex, musky, negates the need for salt, I toss it in with their unsweetened shredded coconut its really great.
