Excellent flour to be used as part of blend

This is as always with Bob's a high quality flour/starch. Because it's unprocessed it's high quality and retains a pleasant taste, but also doesn't clump. Definitely good for gut health but we used it as part of a flour blend and found it worked perfectly. The packaging is resealable and compact, and the composition was exactly as expected and lasted a really long time. Recommended!

Excellent!

i am gluten free so i bake & cook for myself to accommodate my diet. starches are a common ingredient in gluten free cooking, and i have many baking recipes that call for large quantities of potato starch. well potato starch was impossible to find in stores, even online search did not bring up many options. Bob's is the biggest pack, and on iherb the best price hands down. Bob's is also a quality brand i use alot and trust. it is great for thickening stews & gravies too, dissolves very easy and no taste and nice smooth texture.

Excellent! Great quality and value, highly recommend!

Recommended by Functional Medicine Doctor Chris Kresser this is the best quality and best value potato starch I've found. It is great for adding resistant starch to your diet to repopulate your microbiome with beneficial bacteria after antibiotic use and also helps regulate blood sugar. This is also an amazing starch for gluten free baking.A popular pudding recipe can be easily made by mixing the starch with almond milk and fruit, nuts, flax seeds, chia seeds and maple syrup.Highly recommended.

Great brand of potato starch, but it’s NOT a resistant starch!
23 June 2023

If you’re seeking a good brand of potato starch to add as a food ingredient to your recipes, then you can’t go wrong with Bob’s Red Mill. However, if you’re seeking the benefits of a resistant starch, this ain’t it. According to a staff member at Bob’s Red Mill, this brand of Potato Starch is NOT a resistant starch. On the Bob’s Redmill Q&A page, “Diane C” asks the question, “Is this potato starch also resistant starch?” Staff member Serena S responded by saying, “Our Potato Starch is not resistant starch. The process of removing the starch component from the potato eliminates any resistant starch benefits.” Her answer is dated Dec 18, 2017. “Diane C” asks the staff member if she is sure about her answer. And again, the same staff member reassured her statement that Bob’s Red Mill Potato Starch is NOT a resistant starch.

Great for thickening mixes!
1 March 2023

I love using this instead of tapioca starch! It's very versatile. I often use it to bake bread or in gluten-free flour mixes. The packaging is okay, but I'd prefer a better resealable bag. I often have to double-bag it to prevent spills. It also works well in potato pancakes, naturally!

It does the job
5 February 2023

Finely milled, dissolves well, no fillers. We use it to thicken sauces. There is no odd additional taste or smell. Happy with the neutral flavor. Lasts forever, we are a year in and still have lots left in the packaging. We love supporting quality employee-owned businesses. It is supposed to be gluten free with resistant starch.

Potentially beneficial to health
14 January 2022

There is information to show resistant starch can be beneficial to health, specifically concerning the gut microbiome. It does seem to be helping, its early days but have noticed small improvements like reduced sinus issues which is promising. Taking in cold water with food seems to work best, seen less positive benefit when taking on empty stomach. possibly due to reduced transit time in the gut. Will slowly increase the dose to avoid the unwanted side effects of bloating.

Prebiotic starch that cost only penny!
21 January 2022

I still choose this brand. It is clean and guaranteed gluten free and non gmo. There are so many potato starch selling on market today and some of them are from Genetically modified crops which is detrimental to your health. If you are to buy choose the cleanest one. choose Bob's. Quality is sure ball.It is also good for any diet your in, keto, paleo and etc..Great packaging, resealable, very convinient.!1 pack serves you longer. It is effective in thickening sauces, makes a suitable gluten-free addition to baking recipes, and can act as a suitable coating for foods during frying. Potato starch also offers several possible health benefits, including improved colon health and improved insulin sensitivity.
