This was to replace the same toaster in a different colour that I'd had for nearly 10 years and was still working. It's a fantastic toaster, reliable and easy to use and a great design. It also has a pop-up grill bit that works really well for teacakes or crumpets etc. eSpares offer made it excellent value.
This is the third toaster I purchased after my old one broke. The first one almost caught on fire and the second one broke after 2 weeks! My expectations were low. This toaster toasts well and quickly, and has a retractable warming rack, which is a nice feature. The rubber exterior stays cool to the touch. I wish it had a bagel setting and a pop-up retrieval system.
Purchased because it appeared to be of decent quality not exactly cheap, and it worked for approximately 2 weeks. Afterwords it started to burn one side of the toast every time I had to set it to 1.5 to not burn the toast but then nothing got toasted entirely. I messaged the company about the issue, and they can't do anything about it. They will be happy to send me a 50% coupon to purchase another.
Yes, the red color is nice, but does not make up for the fact that the toaster did not work well. One side of the bread would toast well but the other side barely at all. And the best part was the bread being ejected out of the toaster when it was finished! Had to be returned.
Poor Design....crumb holder has holes on the side panels at the bottom, so as soon as you move toaster across the counter the crumbs go dropping out all over your counter, you have to clean your counter every time you use the toaster. Stopped working. Had matching Bodum coffee maker which didn't work either...Bodum replaced once.....difficult company to work with especially for the price of coffee maker.
I liked the look of the toaster, but thought the price seemed pretty high. After reading the reviews, and seeing the high star rating, I figured that it was worth the price and made a purchase.Very disappointed to say that after around 5 uses, the push down lever will not stay down, and 2 of the heating coils won't light up when the lever is held down.Since the other reviews seem positive, maybe mine is a dud... But since my purchase was based off reviews I felt compelled to leave one, since my experience with this toaster has been negative.I will also say that even if the toaster did work, the quality is not worth the price in my opinion, the plastic give it a cheap feel.
We had one of these toasters for years and it had been reliable and always toasted evenly. It finally died so we ordered a new one from MightyApe. I don't know if the factory producing them changed but unfortunately the mechanism is not the same. It rattles, it sticks when you try to set it, you think it's on and it isn't. We have returned it for a refund.
