I have extremely fair skin (sometimes foundations the most fair shade in a neutral undertone are too dark for me!). I am also very cautious about sunscreen application because of skin cancer and aging, so I have no natural tan at all.I have been through brand after brand and formula type after formula type through the years. I've always liked Bondi Sands. And I've gotten better at foam application now--I can do my whole body in 5 minutes, plus a little help for my back. The Light/Medium is perfect.I started applying it early April this year. Since then, I've been asked by many friends, acquaintances that I see regularly, etc. what I am wearing because it looks so natural. I do think that skin preparation and taking care of your skin after application makes a huge difference in the finished product and extending the life of the tan, like any other tanning product.I absolutely recommend this one because it doesn't dry too fast, but it doesn't stay wet and sticky for a more than a few minutes, which I love. I haven't had problems with transfer that stains, plus Bondi Sands makes a gradual lotion that helps extend the tan.My only caveat is that my legs tend to hold the tan better than my upper body, no matter how much I moisturize my upper body, so I end up doing my upper body two nights in a row, usually, or redoing it more often. However, that likely varies person to person.

I've tried so many self tanners and this one is my absolute favorite! To get the best results, use when you have a day chillin at home. I recommend applying with a mitt and then putting on something loose (like a long tank), to let it process 6-8 hrs before showering off. Be careful not to sit on anything light colored. It goes on a deep olive tone but that initial color rinses off. It's the most natural tan and the ultra dark is amazing. The only downside is the waiting time to rinse off. Definitely do not sleep with it on before rinsing, it will stain your sheets. Will never use anything else!

I bought this after using the so sue me ultra dark which is now discontinued due to the formula changes. I read the reviews which seemed pretty positive so I bought it. Back of the bottle says exfoliate, do not moisturise and apply with a mit. I usually moisturise before my tan but did what the bottle said. Was like dry muck going on my skin. Could not get it to rub in evenly and was not dark enough for my personal taste. After washing it was basically all gone off my skin and so patchy and streaky. Next time, did the same but did two pumps into the mit for a darker tan. before washing, looked like muck and dirt on my skin. After washing it was basically all gone again except for a few rotten patches that looked like dirt. Assumed it was going on so patchy and dirty due to my dry skin. It spread much better thanks to the moisturiser but again it looks like actual muck from the garden. It’s honestly one of the most horrible tans I’ve ever tried. Doesn’t layer on your skin nicely so you can’t make it look darker. Doesn’t wash evenly. Does fade evenly. Streak free is what I seen on these reviews and don’t understand how anyone is getting that type of application. I’m so disappointed as I need a replacement for so sue me ultra dark tan.

So the color is great, not orange at all. However, it's so sticky and does not dry easy. It's easier to work around in the summer, I just put on a bikini and go outside and it dries a little faster. It's so annoying because it transfers on everything when you sleep. Who wants stained sheets? It's 2022 not 1990, fix the formula. Other self tanners don't stain, so obviously it can be fixed. The color is nice though, but you need to leave it overnight or for 6 hours unless you actually are somehow able to reapply again after two hours and somehow touch absolutely nothing for a couple hours after that because the second coat will stain any and everything you touch. So overall, I will probably not use again as it's too high maintenance. But if given free I would absolutely use.FYI for value: St. Moritz tanner is like $10 and doesn't stain and dries easier. So I will def go back to that. Loving tan gives the most realistic tan but it's expensive. And Lamakiage is the absolute worst tanner I've ever used. This one from Bondi sands I would rate somewhere in the middle.
I've tried a few fake tans and always go back to this one. I think it works differently on each person but for me, I find it works best after I've showered and exfoliated, I'll lightly moisturise my body in areas that get dry easily (my ankles, shins, knees and elbows). After about an hour I rub the tan on and once rubbed in I pat down. I usually add a second layer to my top half as it doesn't hold as well and I think is prone to washing off first as its the direct area that's hit by water in the shower. Starts to fade after the 4th day but find that it isn't streaky until maybe 6/7 days but by then i exfoliate it off anyway. I also will only wash in lukewarm water for the first wash, find that it lasts longer this way.
I RARELY leave comments for cosmetics unless they really impress me and this did. I’ve used Jergen’s before, but that gradually changes color over time and you have to keep applying and applying to get it to look good. From the first application of Bondi Sands you get a nice even color and it stays on! I will reapply every 2-3 days just to maintain. Other self tanners turn that weird orange color, but this looks very natural. Just make sure you blend it in everywhere or you’ll see where you missed. It will rub off on clothes and sheets, but it comes out with detergent and Oxi.
The foam was easy to apply and left my skin with a decent, natural-looking tan that lasted for a few days. Although it didn't provide an ultra-dark tan as the name suggests, it still gave a noticeable color that was suitable for my skin tone. One thing I appreciated about this self-tanner was that it did not have a strong odor and was not sticky after application. It also did not leave any streaks or patches on my skin, which is always a plus.Overall, I would recommend the Bondi Sands Aero Self Tanning Foam Ultra Dark to those who are looking for a more subtle self-tanner or those who are new to self-tanning. While it may not be the most intense self-tanner out there, it is still a good product that can help achieve a natural-looking tan.
I am a pale girly with dark hair and features. I got the color dark, and just upon application it gives a GREAT color. Definitely noticeable upon application, however looks like you just got a good tan from laying out. Color builds up as you let it sit on your skin. I just showered in the morning after sleeping with it overnight, and LOVE the results. Not streaky. Smooth easy application. Does NOT dry the second you put it on your skin. Allows you time to work it in. Color blends beautifully
I'll say first, I dont get the hype of st tropez because I've used it and did not like it; i don't get dark enough, it didn't last. It wasn't worth the price tag.So i started doing research on self tanners, came across bondi and decided to go for it. It's good! It's better than st tropez. People in comments are saying it washes off, but it's a wash off tan.... You apply, let it sit for however long you like (i did mine overnight), then rinse in the shower till water is clear with warm water, pat dry. My tan is still going strong days later and looks great!! I haven't loved my postpartum self but man, i look so much better with this tan I've been loving my body more. I also don't look orange and my elbows and knees look good and are well blended. This product also ... MoreI'll say first, I dont get the hype of st tropez because I've used it and did not like it; i don't get dark enough, it didn't last. This product also appears to be cheaper than many other options and works well so that's a nice plus.I only took off a star because when i woke up that self tanner smell was so strong, but i also left it on for over 6 hours, so it makes sense. And i did use it on my face and it did break me out some. Again, makes sense tho since it's not a face product. Also I'm pretty fair skinned. The dark says to use with olive toned skin but I got the dark and am definitely not olive and am very happy that I stepped out and chose dark.
I don't fake tan much but it's been a long winter and I was tired of looking so pale. I got this product during the 21 days of beauty when it was on sale. I also bought the Bondi Sands back applicator to help wi the the process. I used the applicator all over; even places I could reach just to ensure I did not have any streaking. I'm sure it's not necessary. I think I may have applied too much to my skin bc I was super sticky, next time I will use less to see if that does the trick. I would buy again but I think next time I will try St. Tropics, I have always wanted to try it but the price point is more than I'm willing to spend.
