This jar brings back warm memories of a nun surprising me with a bowl of fresh mirabelles from the monastery garden, because she remembered how much I loved them. This is my favorite Bonne Maman jam.

Was on a tour in 2018 conducted by the National World War-II Museum, staying in a small hotel in Bayeux. Each morning we had pastries and jams. I especially liked the butter, from Isigny Ste-Mere Dairy, and the Mirabelles preserves. mostly on crescents, but great on all local breads & rolls. Can you make that butter available in the U.S.? I would order that too !
I use Japanese soy sauce, garlic, rice vinegar or similar, and dollops of this yellow plum jam to make my bespoke, all good ingredients, dipping sauce for spring rolls.
In a popular cook's magazine, this was rated second (just behind apricot) of 25 Bonne Mamam jams. I was initially reluctant to try it as I thought plums tasted like what I find in the national grocery chain. This jam was a revelation! Sweet, flavorful, and, like all their others (12?) I have tried, uniquely itself.
This is a very nice preserve jammed with luscious Mirabelles. Mirabelle plums are grown throughout Europe, but they're very difficult to find, even as a preserve here in the U.S.I am thrilled to have found this stuff and Bonne Maman does these little amber beauties proud. Nicely balanced; sweet and acidic with plenty of halved Mirabelles throughout. .
One of my favorite things to eat when I visit my family in France (Loreaine area) is to enjoy the Mirabelle jam from their garden. I have always been sad not to be able to find it in the United States. I was thrilled to discover Mon Panier. Their Bonne Maman jam is delicious & brings back happy memories. It may not be exactly like the homemade version I am used to, but it is excellent. Highly recommend.
I was looking forward to try this mirabelle jam, so special! Unfortunately, although the pack seemed ok from the outside, the glass jars arrived shattered! The bottoms of all or most of them had broken, there was jam and pieces of glass everywhere! Someone must have dropped the case or the whole pallet (other reviewers had a similar complaint). So sad because I really wanted this jam. I could not rescue anything, of course (glass fragments in chunky jam, the stuff of nightmares!). Had to return whatever I could put back in the pack, inside plastic bags and a note of caution to the person opening the package. I wanted to throw it away but Walmart returns process does not allow for that.
