I bought this drill bit for use in a cordless machine to drill brick at the top of a wall. Unfortunately for me, my machine's selector collar decided to jam at the crucial moment, preventing me from selecting 'hammer action'. But I pressed on, albeit more slowly, eventually completing the necessary holes.My concern had been a perceived risk of loosening the top course of brick with the vibrations of hammer action, but in the event, the problem with my cordless drill turned out to be a blessing in disguise!Solid, predictable reliability from Bosch!

10mm bit purchased to use with Ryobi One+ drill in hammer mode to drill holes in an 18th century single storey building chimney and mount a wind vane. Bit worked very well under hammer action and hole was true to size ready for mounting bolts. A good value bit that did the job well and will be a valuable and good value addition to my tool box.

Drill bit is exactly straight unlike other brands where the tip is braised off centre. This means a hole drilled of the exact size required. I drill engineering bricks, concrete and old Victorian bricks and with ease. I find them to last around 200 holes without issue.
I needed a slim but decent length drill for some work on my own bathroom.The tiles I had installed were that tough I had to use diamond drills to start a pilot hole.once that was done this drill was excellent and had enough shank to get the correct depth.I bought 3 as I thought one or more would burn out on the tiles even after cooling them.wasn't the case used one drill for 14 holes. great drill.
After trying and failing (and sweating) to drill into a concrete lintel above a window with a masonry bit, I ordered 2 of these bits from Screwfix and collected them the same morning. These Bosch straight shank concrete drill bits, 6mm x 100mm, completed the job in minutes - no sweating or swearing - a joy to use, and I only used one of them. A good product, I have already recommended them to my son.
Bought this to drill into a concrete fence post. Two other masonry bits had failed, but this little chap was excellent. Would strongly recommend
Other reviews SAY it drill through with ease and no problem at all. NOT the case as it only went as far as standard drill bits go. The end is burnt and I am no closer to the hole being any deeper. Only advantage is the length. Would not recommend
OK this is not a ‘Which’ quality review but it is probably better than many of the individual comments that are posted.Wife wanted to make ten three tier cake stands so I had 30 plates from an old dinner service to drill holes in.I purchased three 6mm masonry drills to compare performance, Bosch, Erbauer and DeWalt and started drilling. I drilled all holes with water lubrication but no hammer action.The Erbauer was half the price of the other two and significantly inferior in performance.The Bosch was slightly better at drilling than the DeWalt but the DeWalt had a little dimple that made it easier to start without skidding and also had a triangular shaft which would help prevent slipping if used with hammer action.So in summary you gets what you pays for!
After trying unsuccessfully to drill into a concrete lintel above a window with a masonry bit I purchased this one and a 6mm one. Absolutely amazing difference, job done in seconds. As I said in the heading, unbelievably good. The only disappointment is I couldn't give it more than 5 stars!
