Bosch Pkp 18 E Silicone Gun Silver

Product description Glue gun PKP 18 E (1 glue stick) Constant Electronic Mechanical power supply Quick to use Advantages The PKP 18 E from Bosch is a robust glue gun for do-it-yourselfers. It guarantees clean work and stable glue joints. An electronically controlled heating element ensures fast heating up, so the tool is ready for use quickly. In addition, it guarantees a constant working temperature of approx. 200 degrees Celsius. The mechanical feed allows both precise dosing and targeted and fast application of the adhesive. The integrated anti-drip edge reduces unwanted dripping to a minimum and an extra-long nozzle enables glue joints even in hard-to-reach places. The fold-out drop-down handle provides plenty of stability. The glue gun is suitable for a wide range of materials. It glues wood, leather, cardboard, paper, textiles, cork, stone as well as glass and metal with ease. The mechanical feed allows precise dosing and even application of glue for different applications. Fusing cartridges with a diameter of 11 mm and a length of 45-200 mm can be inserted into the glue gun. This makes it suitable for both smaller glue jobs with low glue consumption and extensive glue joints with high material consumption.

Good quality product. Never used a hot glue system before, the application nozzle in the gun made the task undertaken easy. Overall 5 stars for design and practical to use tool.

Yes, it was a good product while it lasted, but it did not last too long - even under light use.The gun lost temperature control; overheated, glue started to drop from nozzle; squeezing trigger glue extruded backwards towards the handle!!; glue looked as if it had started boiling. Dangerous!Stripping the gun down I found the fault lay in the PTC heater. The element had fractured in several places and there was no bond between the electrodes and the PTC element. So, potentially a good product - let down by a poor quality heating element.I recommend that you don't by this product until Bosch get the quality control sorted out on the PTC heater unit.

I have used this model for several years now and have had absolutely no problems with the gun.My one and only gripe is that occasionally I have damaged the nozzle. When trying to buy a spare nozzle the prices I have found are utterly ridiculous. Ranging from£19 to £22. I therefore end up buyin a completely new gun for around £20.What an utter and complete waste of materials. How I. Any sense is this helping the environment? The nozzle itself can’t cost more than a couple of pounds ( if that) to manufacture and is easily removed and replace by hand. This has to take stupidity to a who,e new level.

Great product

This glue gun is great. After using a 7mm gun for some time we wanted to move to an 11mm to increase our output. After looking at a number of options we chose this one for the known quality of Bosch tools and have not been disappointed. The trigger mechanism is really smooth and the long percission nozzle applies the glue exactly where it is needed. There is also virtually no glue drip once the trigger is released which keeps everywhere clean. Well recommended.

Ideal gun
6 September 2016

I saw this being use for carnival costumes. I needed an upgrade. Its well built and the cable is a chunky size. What the extra power does is to keep the glue flowing after the first squeeze, rather than wait to reheat. That's important if you're working fast or on a large area. The stick feed is good - no slip. One feature that is easily overlooked is the long nozzle - good for getting into tight spaces. It also makes it more accurate than a cone.It has only one fault. The plastic body gets hot. the handle is ok but the body is too hot to hold - even after a couple of minutes switched off. Not a big issue, but it might slow down you packing away....and yes it drips - a little. They all do. That's what scrap card if for.

It does exactly what it should
11 December 2020

I dislike reviews that say "it does what it says on the tin". Just not very original.Firstly there's no tin so that's a good start. But the end of it is that this glue gun works quickly and faultlessly which is what all products we part with our cash for, should do.So ..... it does exactly what it should, it does it well time and time again.Simples! (not so original eh?)

Pricey for lack of features
11 March 2022

Bosch is a well known brand that has been around for year the other Bosch products with engines and moving parts have always been quite good,. in comparison to the other models on the market with led lights better stands and offering different tip sizes and more glue sticks included this is just basic as it does not come with these features, only good points is it is a 200 w and heats up reason fast and has a comfortable grip and is light weight.

Slightly disappointing
8 November 2023

Power cable is longer than many glue guns (very useful). It is not detachable. Part of the hype was that it was non-drip, but there is little evidence of that. Only one glue stick included in the box. No visual indication of power (could be a problem). The wire stand is not adequate which means that the gun is not stable when sitting on the bench. The cable exit means that it needs to be positioned onthe very edge of the bench. The long nozzle i good for accessibility. At 200w it is one of the higher powered guns, but it still takes 7 minutes to warm up from cold. As glue guns go, its OK but nothing special.

Very good Hot Glue Gun
5 January 2023

I am very pleased with this hot glue gun. The pin point nozzle on the end allows for an accurate dispersal of the glue, and saves using excess amounts. All round a great purchase.

good thing

Been using the Titan glue gun for some years, and while it works its sort of flimsy and creeks. It stopped working so i looked on line and discovered Screwfix had this one for less than on the net! And its a good tool, even has a cleanable nozzle. Feels solid, good fit to the hand and great to use.
