The Universal Detect uses Bosh detection technology with auto-calibration to enable the reliable detection of live wire, metal and stud. The Universal Detect features a unique language-based interface that addresses the needs of DIY users by guiding them the detection process and equipped with a 2.4 inch color touch screen, which enables easy navigation and intuitive usage. The Universal Digital Detector display result on the screen, via an acoustic signal and through an illuminated LED ring, which will use a traffic light system to show the detection result. Green means no object was found, yellow means a signal was found, and red indicates a signal could be clearly assigned to an object. DIY enthusiasts can mark the place directly on the wall through a marking hole. More confident drilling the Universal Detect delivers deep scans of up to 10 cm in walls, drywall, ceilings, and floors. It locates metal objects, single-phase live cables, or wooden substructures for safer drilling when hanging pictures or objects and installing lights. This practical detection device requires no manual calibration simply switch it on and start the detection process. For intuitive operation, its helpful animations offer step-by-step instructions. Its LED traffic light system and optional acoustic warning signal indicate the location of a detected object. The easy-to-use Universal Detect features a hole directly in the center of the tool for accurate marking during use.

Works a treat so long as you read the manual properly. I’ve seen numerous reviews where people complain it doesn’t work, but they aren’t following the manual OR their walls are insulated with foil-backed insulation (which gives a constant reading of metal/wire found). It a little on the pricey side but it’s a small price to pay for avoiding a plumbing/electrical repair bill.

The detector did not work. There was something wrong with the touchscreen display and it wouldn’t let you choose if you were detecting wood or a pipe or electrical wire - the screen was just black with a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it. Very disappointed and expected a better product for the money and the brand.

Purchased it to find the electrical lines in my brand new dale alcock home, they put the wires in and plaster over top of them (that alone is the stupidest idea) but any way this machine couldn’t detect anything I got a nasty surprise when I got huge boot from my wall thanks for absolutely nothing except costing me100s in a sparky toAttempt to fix it could of justPurchased a better brand and not had any dramas

Good product not as accurate as i thought it would be.happy with item not happy with the price. When paying so much for a item that only is used for a specific purpose it should work more accurately so you can work quicker but thats not the case with this detector
Agreed with the previous review.Didn't work to detect current within the brick wall
It is very easy to use and detects Wood, Metal and Electric Cables behind the wall. Great for when you move into a new home and want to put lots of things on the walls!! I Love it!! Thanks!!
Thanks great mate. Do not interpret anything based on inputs that your are not aware off. Use this to quantify. Great tool to quantify
Pros: Easy to read indicator
I bought this a few months ago and it has been a let down of a purchase. Useless at detecting studs, doesn't cope with detecting wires or metal either. Wouldn't recommend this, especially for the amount of money it costs
simple on screen help and traffic light indicators and even has a pencil centring holeeverything you need to ensure you have the confidence to do the job
