Worst sound bar ever.If you don't have wifi you cannot register the product and if you cannot register the product you cannot use the app on phone to set base, tone etc.You will also not be able to have the subwoofer pair with the sound bar without registering the sound bar with bose. This is truly the most user unfriendly device ever manufactured Bose should be ashamed to have this on the market. Even with a wifi connection I could not register this device and returned it.Also when you buy the product they don’t inform you that you need wifi to be able to use this product to it’s full functionality and when you return this product due to this defect they still want to charge you 10% for opening the packaging.Worst sound bar and poor retailer

Simply put, this subwoofer does not connect to the Bose TV Speaker (Soundbar) even though there are explicit instructions that the systems can be connected with a 3.5mm cable.I tried two brand new Bass Module 500 and both had no sound come out of them. I am sure if I had one of the newer soundbars, the wireless option would work with subwoofer. But it was really disappointing that all the instructions said it was compatible. The instructions were a joke: Step 1 power it up, Step 2 connect the cables. But there is no sound, so now what? Support from Bose was also a joke, their website didn't have any other information to diagnose this further.Lastly, the connector for the 3.5mm port was very loose on the first Bass 500 I tried. I got a solid click when I connected the 3.5mm cable into the back of the Bose TV speaker. But regardless it didn't make a difference, we still get no bass. And yes, we followed the instructions step by step, we also tested the 3.5mm and it was working fine on other devices.I am at a lost as to why it won't work, so this baby is going back!

Bose has nailed it once again!!! This little sub-woofer produces absolutely clean bass and adds to spaciousness of the overall surround sound effect. I would highly recommend buying this product. Worth every Penney. I run my Bose Soundbar 900 on two Sub-woofers (matching 500’s) to distribute the bass evenly. The overall result has been beyond amazing. Family, friends and anybody who hear it have their jaws dropped - seriously (mine included :-) ) every single time I play it - both Movies and just good ol songs

So I recently got a Bose soundbar 600(amazing atmos) and that soundbar doesn’t come with a subwoofer unfortunately. So I decided to see what this nice little sun would add to the overall great sound. And I have to say, that this little subwoofer that is actually quite light was amazing for its size. Great low frequency response deep and clean bass all the way around. I originally got this as an open box for a more reasonable price. And at first the bass wasn’t accurate and sounded off like something might have been wrong. But I know that you sometimes have to “burn in” certain speakers and subwoofers as well. This is normal. I purchased this sub as a package deal with the sound bar. Loved it for about 10 mins. It had this weird popping to it and found out it was a weak BT connection. I had to reset/dis connect & re-connect. Then it worked great for the rest of the evening. Next evening it happened again and I couldn't fix it. So I tried optical cable wiring and still the sub had very weak signal. It WAS NOT behind any furniture and WAS NOT obstructed by any walls. It was always with 10-12 ft of the sound bar. Tried trouble shooting the issue and found out that this is an engineering problem with this particular 500 sub. Such a sad day to find out Bose is no longer delivering solid products but, selling inferior products off of their name alone.
I used to work at Best Buy and the general sentiment among my peers was to pick Sonos over Bose products. I still decided to go with Bose because I had a stronger employee discount with them. My thought process was I hardly watch TV and it wouldn’t really matter with my use case. I brought the soundbar with the base module 500 as a birthday gift for myself. The soundbar gave me initial problems but it’s fine as of now. However the base module seemingly starting to fail on me. Currently I’m experiencing “popping” and cut offs randomly while watching/listening to something. It seems to be fine at extremely low volumes (such as watching something before bed) but when you set it at daytime volumes, the base module begins to act up. It seems to be fine at extremely low volumes (such as watching something before bed) but when you set it at daytime volumes, the base module begins to act up. I have never set the volume to a point where it would stress out the speakers as I live in an apartment and my neighbors would complain. Extremely disappointed at this product as it only has been 5 MONTHS . I’m currently looking at manufacture warranties, but they’re online support is TERRIBLE. I am prompted to input my serial number and get greeted with an array of reasons why Bose can’t service my product. 1. I’m in the “wrong country”, 2. “Product is newly launched” 3 “your product requires special care - frames”. Are you kidding me?!? Not only can it not pinpoint the best course of action but it provides me irrelevant reasons why it can’t help me. 1, I know for a fact I’m in the right country/region for warranty claims. 2. The product has been out for at least 3 years. 3. Special care - frames?? How can you confuse these with sunglasses?!? Finally, the cherry on top is that customers service is closed during the time of this review. I’m glad I essentially got this deal as a buy one, get one free with my discount. If you’re going to pay full price for both items, I’d stay away from their products and go with Sonos.
I purchased the Bose 300 soundbar and 500 sub in April 2021. Within days the soundbar and sub would just stop working with Spotify. On researching Bose forums I discovered issues with Bose and Spotify dating back to 2019 on the larger 700 model. Bose has never addressed them and released the 300 with the same issues.Bose also claims that the soundbar works with Google Assistant. Not in NZ it doesn't. At best it was flakey when used via a google mini. After 37 days and 90 resets of the soundbar and sub, I returned Bose to NL. I paid the extra for Sonos and have never regretted it.The sub itself was great - well sized for my room and it certainly made the soundbar a lot better. This is a great little sub for the price.I have an office space that I use as a secondary entertainment location in the house, mostly for news, background music, and short-term TV viewing, so I wasn't looking for earth shaking or a bank-breaking acoustic system (for this particular space). That said, I was seeking a sub that has a reputation for quality, as well as easy connectivity, at a reasonable price. If those are your parameters, then you're in luck. I would go out on a limb and say that it would likely be great for apartments, condos, and smaller rooms. The sub connects through the bose app and has good versatility for customizing the sound you want. For such a small box, it generates full, deep, punchy bass. I can turn it up and don't hear any distortion and it doesn't seem like the sub is struggling either. Again, put that in the context of a physically small sub. This sub will be plenty for most rooms less than 15'x15' especially if you strategically place it in a corner of the room. The only reason I am giving this review a 4-star rating instead of a 5-star rating is because I struggled to get the sub (Bluetooth) connected to the soundbar and TV. It should be easier and more consistent.
Bose continually captivates me with the sound that they produce from their products. When hooking up any new home theater system, the first thing we do is put on Jurassic park (where the T-Rex escapes its enclosure) to determine whether dinosaurs still walk the earth. I must say that this Bose subwoofer coupled with a Bose sound bar 500 does not disappoint! The ground trembles, glasses shake & furniture rattles and…the T-Rex still inspires fear and awe! With every step the base only seems to drop lower and lower & ultimately, we are satisfied that dinosaurs still walk the earth. You can’t go wrong with his Bose sound woofer and any one of the sound bars. And, if any complaint I have, it’s that they are a little bit more expensive than I’d like…notwithstanding it’s a ... thought they'd sound a little more robust sounding, but they are rear channel speakers. folks that complain they click, that's just them processing the sound - they're not meant to be right by your ear. put them 4 or more feet away as they're intended to be placed and they're fine. a little expensive, but I've had no issue with connectivity, appreciate the long cord enabling you to drop the wire behind the wall for wall or corner mounting (that's the wireless look) and think they do a good job. they don't beat a real 5.1 wired system, but with the bose 600 and 500 bass module, it sounds dang'd good.
