Amazing sound, when wired.

First off, the sound and base is truly remarkable and loud. It feels like a theater and you can feel the base in music, movies, and games. (Which is what I use this for). Its very sharp looking and very awesome! My complaint, as with many others, is the "popping" issue. Its dropping its "wireless" connection to the soundbar (bose 900). For the price of this product, this should be fixed and not even an issue. However the sound, once you use the wired method, is true to the superior sound quality bose is known for. If you dont mind spending the money and a little extra for the wired connection, its worth every penny. If you want a true wireless set up, which isn't a huge ordeal, then you may look for alternatives.

The amber ' Standby ' LED is on the back of the unit where you cannot see it without having to lean right over the back of the unit and tip it slightly up, locating the LED in a slightly more visable location would have been helpful. volume adjustment of this Bass modual only possible through using smart phone app, but the app is simple to use and very effective so as long as you have a smartphone all ok.

For a premium product, I have to say I'm disappointed by this system and until that issue is fix

Excellent powerful subwoofer
31 December 2022

This is an excellent subwoofer and the frequency response is great. It goes all the way down to 25 Hz with no problem. You can hear 20 Hz but it is the beginning about the human ear can hear so it’s not seem as loud, but can you can certainly feel it and the room rattles. The 900 sound bar and the 700 subwoofer make an excellent home theater system and well shape the house. I have the bass set at about 2/3 and it is plenty strong. When watching movies or TV shows with the volume up, it will shake the house. It does the same on Music. There are many songs in the 70s and 80s that I did not realize that had low frequency bass that dipped down very low. When watching movies, and the volume is turned up, it gets provides movie theater quality sound with the Dolby Atmos ... MoreThis is an excellent subwoofer and the frequency response is great. Extremely Disappointed!

I would not buy again. I am a Bose customer for over 30 years. Years ago I started with the acoustimass 5 speakers, and the 901 Black Lacquer speaker, and continued with Bose purchases ever since. That being said, my purchase of the Soundbar 900 with Bass Module 700 is a giant disappointment. The soundbar goes offline a couple times each day. I have to unplug it from the wall socket to reset it. not an easy task since my outlet is recessed behind my wall mounted tv. The bigger disappointment is the bass module. The module makes a popping sound as if the speaker is busted. The thing that attracted me most to this combo was for the wireless bass module connection aesthetics. I have purchased the Bose 500 (two of them) and 900 sound bars, 500 & 700 subwoofers and 500 & 700 surrounds. The sound quality is superb. Exquisite even. Now the downsides. These don’t play well with TVs. I couldn’t get the TV remotes to turn the volume up on the Bose soundbar. With EARC you can have devices communicate things like volume and on/off signals to all devices. Bose is EARC “compatible” Not at all. I purchased 3 different brand high quality TVs just to get these sound bars to work. Really. I literally went through three brand new TVs so I could keep the Bose products. I connected directly to the TVs with a few different quality HDMI cables. I even had geek squad out and they were baffled.I use an Apple TV and I couldn’t get that remote to work with the Bose stuff either. I had to use the infrared on my Apple Remote to finally get the soundbar to work. Ya like 60 year old technology. So because the soundbar is under the TV and on a high TV entertainment unit I have to have direct line of sight between the remote and soundbar. This means my arm must go way up in the air to change the volume every time. It’s even more fun laying on the couch. The TV and Apple Remote are set up for Bluetooth. Beautiful. No more aiming at the tv. Till Bose. It sucks.Same thing for my Bose 500 in the bedroom on a smaller tv. HDMI won’t even work with the sound bar for sound. I have to use another old technology. Optical cable. It works but just barely.Oh yes and on both systems the updates are horrible. They get stuck all the time updating. Days stuck on the update. Meanwhile I can’t use any app features like dialogue mode. Then I have to play a game to get them unstuck. This usually results in having to reconnect the subwoofer and surrounds which is a huge pain. Oh and sometime it deletes the IQ feature which takes a bunch of time to set up too. I can spend an hour resetting things up because of updates. One last thing about their proprietary products. These can not be used with any other products. I went to use my 500 subwoofer in my office for my computer and it doesn’t use a normal input. So I put it back in the bedroom. It made me realize that someday when the soundbar dies I will be unable to make use of the sub and surround speakers. To have a soundbar go out and have the rest of the working speakers be unable to work is a waste of money.Buy Sonos instead. I’m going to switch to them on my next purchase. The sound quality of Bose isn’t worth the nightmare.

I love the glass tops of both and with the 700 sub’s and either surround speaker types, the 700 or 900 is stunning in sound quality.I have played a bunch of movies with Atmos and both sound just about identical, that’s how good the 700 is even without Atmos.I highly recommend Bose to all, you do get what you pay for.

Bought this togethet with the Bose Soundbar 900. At first impression, this was the beat soubding combo ever! But within 20 min, a popping/crackling sound startef to happen. I thought it was a faulty subwoofer, but to much surprise, the internet is plagued with this same issue. Bose says its interferance with other wireless devices, and to remdedy this I should hard wire it. I did use a wire to see if this was the case and yes it so was. Sounded perfect and amazing. However, why in earth would something so expensive not work properly??? I didn’t want it hard wired. I wanted the speaker in the corner of my family room and running a long hardwire to it is just not a good look. Didn’t go with Sonos ARC cause that Bar is too long for where my soundbar goes!

Wifi interference wait for 900 woofer
25 May 2022

The sound is really good when its working. There's a known issue with wifi interference thats not widely mentioned in common reviews. Once you purchase one and look up the issue because its happening, you'll see plenty of comments about it. At first, i thought the speaker popped, but the weird noise is due to wifi interference. So if your router is anywhere between the soundbar and woofer, you're going to have issues here and there. For the money you pay, you shouldnt experiece this. Unfortunately i purchased my soundbar first and now im stuck with the pair. If i could do it all over, i would get the sonos. Maybe wait for the 900 woofer.

WoW! what a difference!
7 January 2022

I bought the Bose Bass Module 700 Wireless Subwoofer to compliment my Bose 900 soundbar which I've had for a few weeks now. I was impressed with the soundbar as a standalone item as it made dialogue clearer and massively enhanced the sound I was getting from the TV speakers. (Samsung QE50QN95) and through my old Samsung soundbar.Today I added this bass module and it has taken the sound quality and effects through the roof. It really is amazing! Deep rich bass that fills the room. To test the set-up properly, I played two films "Top Gun" and "The Greatest Showman" and played the Dire Straits "Money for nothing" album through it. At not even half volume I felt like I was in the middle of the battlezones, the jets flashing by overhead and all around it really was the best immersive sound I've heard in a long while. The explosions, gun sounds, music were all fantastic. Then in the greatest showman, dialogue was crystal clear, the music had depth and again felt like I was standing in the middle of the circus ring! Likewise the CD had a sound and richness that I had not experienced before. The unit itself is heavy, beautifully built and is a very smart piece of furniture in its own right. It matches the colour and style of the 900 soundbar and was simple to install using the Bose music app on my phone. It certainly doesn't look out of place in the open, although I suspect it will be positioned somewhere less visual in time.I have no regrets in purcahsing this item and if anything, wish I'd bought it sooner. Great value on the John Lewis site too.
