I've tested it with other non bose indoor speakers (B&W 800 series) and the sound quality is pretty good for the money (I purchased it at an introductory offer which is lower than MSRP). The only niggle I have with this amp is, if you are using it indoors and you have a very quiet room, you will hear it's fan kicking in to cool the unit down. When it does it's outdoor duties, it's wall mounted in the garage so fan noise does not bother me. Too early to make any statements about reliability, but I will update this review if there are any issues furthe down the road :)

I bought this a couple of weeks ago. Connected it to my monitor audio speakers.I use it with spotify exclusively and as a spotify speaker. That way I don't get phone notifications etc. coming through.I've got it connected to wifi, so it doesn't matter where I am it keeps playing.It pumps! It was my daughters 18th last night, we wouldn't have been able to cope with it any louder but it had more to give. Zero distortion, guitars were crisp, base was good.

System 900 smart soundbar is well designed and sounds good. However, not able to get much volume out of my rear surround speakers. Not being able to sync speaks in other locations together when watching TV would have been a deal breaker had I known in advance. Hopefully engineers are working to resolve this problem and will be able to do do with a software update. Also issues with getting 900 smart bar to work with TV e-arc and arc.

I bought this two weeks ago and set up was easy, primary function is to play vinyl via analogue input from a turntable with built in pre-amp and it does that job perfectly. The only issue is regarding the Bose Music app as that lets the overall experience down as unlike the old soundtouch app you cannot stream your own content from a NAS you have to use a 3rd party app and Bluetooth. Additionally the Bose Music app (in the UK) is quite limited in the services you can add. So in summary excellent piece of kit with great sound perfect for analogue input but Bose Music app reduces it down to 4 star.
I like thag this amp supports so many sources and allows you to power 2 sets of speakers. It’s very compact which makes it easy to find a spot for it in tight setups. It is actively which which is both good and bad. Good in that I dont worry about it getting too warm in a slightly enclosed setup. It seems to almost always keep the fan running on low, even when idling which emits a very faint fan noise all the time. Once its running the fan picks up a little but your music will easily overpower its hum. I do wish they had built in the ability to do A/B speaker switching. As it’s designed it’s all speakers or none.
I am absolutely thrilled with this amp. I am finally utilizing my very good passive speakers throughout the house. I read a review where the (valid) complaint was the inability to control which speaker pairs are active but have solved that a couple of ways. One, it is so easy to remove and replace the terminal blocks that I can quickly “turn on a set of speakers”. Two, I connected one terminal block to a switch box with 4 sets on speakers and can control which speaker is on. I would not expect all 4 to work at the same time but this gives me plenty of flexibility as to where to hear my music throughout the house - including a set in the backyard. I have also been happy to be able to use my Bose Solo 5 that is connected to a tv. The setup was super easy. I love this amp!
This unit provides a neat solution for people who want to install a whole home audio system.I installed outdoor speakers in a patio cover and ran the speaker wire indoors, connected them to this amplifier and have enjoyed music outdoors using my phone.This is a great unit and awesome solution for people in similar situations where they want to add speakers in rooms/outdoors and control it all on their mobile device.
Let me begin by saying this amp has a wonderful lively tone, and as my, also new, speakers get comfortable, it gets richer by the day. No issues with power, tone what-so-ever. Connectivity is also excellent, spotify connect works flawlessly for me. wifi also. i have not had to mess around with anything on the app/interface side of things. very simple. very reliable. My one gripe is that the sub output is ONLY FOR BOSE modular bass sub woofers. ARGH!! really?!? This was nearly enough for me to return it. I can't describe how much i hate this "walled garden" approach to equipment. So needless to say my setup with this amp is subless. i will not acquiesce. Luckily the speakers i purchased are remarkable and i can get away with no sub.
I need to return this amp. It has no remote, and no buttons or controls - I did know that going in... But I expected the mobile apps to work properly too. Paying a premium for Bose, I assumed they had the software figured out. They do not. The apps on Android and iPhone are horrendous - so slow, and so badly glitching. Sharing speakers for multiple users in the house is broken. And speaker grouping works great for music, but totally useless with video due to sync delays. Their advertised use case of "movie night" is not possible. I build software for a living (I'm no technophobe) - this app is BAD. Also, the amp can only play a specific kind of optical audio signal, which some TVs can't produce (stereo PCM up to 96 khz). Vey straightforward set up and was up and running in about 15 minutes. The ability to cast from phone, use Bluetooth, and integration with Alexa/Google make it very versatile.Can hang it or rack-mount it so it is up and put of the way, but it does have a nice look to it so it's not completely necessary to "hide" it.All-around great amp and has taken everything I've thrown at it. Would recommend.
