I love the noise cancellation on this headphones, much better quality and actual noise cancellation than the cheaper (about $100-150) models. I bought this one after trying a friend's Quiet Comfort 2 and knowing this was the upgrade with the rechargeable battery. However, it fall short on comfort. After about 2 hours, the top part of my ears feel tender and uncomfortable. After that I have to turn them upside down to take it off the tops of my ears. I would go for an around ear design, or the ear bud design from Bose. I went for the latter.

I love these head phones. I can’t wear in ear headphones because they hurt me to bad. I have tried several over the ear headphones and was never that happy with them. My friend talked me into the Bose brand and I really like these. They sound fantastic and I can wear them for hours without them hurting my ears. I like the noise cancelling aspect. I can really tune out everything except what I am listening to. I enjoy watching movies on my laptop with these headphones. Really sounds fantastic. The padding around the ears make it so comfortable and I have even fallen asleep with these on.

I know that these particular QC3's might be older and out of date however that did not bother me when ordering them up. I have owned a set for many years and as my wife and I were in for very long flights recently I wanted to source a set for her. So in a sense I was buying a known product and whilst these were 2nd hand in no way was I disappointed with them. They were in very fine condition so thank you for supplying exactly what I was looking for. The sound quality is superb and most comfortable to wear for extended periods. Battery life was certainly around fifteen hours and once connected to a power source quickly regained full charge for our next leg of flight.

Good Sound Quality But.....
7 March 2018

When I ordered these the listing had a lack of photographs so it was difficult to tell how big they were. These headphones are much smaller than I expected but work very well. I ordered these as a gift to my wife and I was a little disappointed. I will say they are lightweight and comfortable but do have a cheapish feel to them. The size really is my biggest issue as they remind me of 80s walkman headphones. The noise canceling technology and rechargeable battery are the saving grace. The noise canceling works great and the sound quality is excellent as should be expected from a company such as Bose. The battery lasts a long time and everything fits nicely in the included case that comes with it. I got these on sale for less than 100.00 and would have returned them ... MoreWhen I ordered these the listing had a lack of photographs so it was difficult to tell how big they were. Lightweight, good audio and Noise cancelling
4 August 2021

I was surprised at the quality of these headphones. Especially as they are on ear, the quality (for me) is better than the over ear headphones. Getting used to charging the battery can be a nuisance, however the over ear headphones are pretty much the same. The surprise is that the noise cancelling works so well and makes these a pleasure to use. I also have a pair of Q25's, which I use for handsfree calls on my mobile, using Bluetooth, for music I use the QC3 as I find the quality to be better

So Far So Good
9 May 2018

Finally decided to buy a decent pair of Bose noise cancelling headphones after yet another flight with two hours of screaming babies. Arrived smartly packed in own case with new clean headband and ear pads as advertised. I like this model as it has its own rechargeable lithium battery in a neat little clip in section of the headphones which is so light you'd never notice when wearing them. The mains charger has a US plug but included a US to UK adapter small enough to fit in the case. The also included Reytid Bluetooth adapter took a little working out. Finding the instructions online there's supposed to be lights to tell you when it's on or off, when it's charging or in Bluetooth pairing mode. In practice however, on this one anyway, these were almost imperceptible ... MoreFinally decided to buy a decent pair of Bose noise cancelling headphones after yet another flight with two hours of screaming babies. Finding the instructions online there's supposed to be lights to tell you when it's on or off, when it's charging or in Bluetooth pairing mode. In practice however, on this one anyway, these were almost imperceptible and I could only tell the state of the unit when plugged into the headphones with both units switched on, when you could hear its voice prompts. A standard USB to micro puzzled me for a while but eventually found it was for charging this unit although no indication could be seen of when it's fully charged. Once charged it worked perfectly except sadly it would not connect to my old iPod Touch as Apple told me the technology on the version 4.2 iPod was too old but connected to my iPhone 5s perfectly. Altogether very satisfied with the headphones and am looking forward to some peace and noise cancelling quiet on my next flight, despite the inevitable child kicking the back of my seat out of boredom!

The best- get a set or ten while you can!!
28 February 2018

Bose no longer makes these. I have tried all of their newest noise canceling headphones and earphones, and not one of them comes remotely close to these in sound quality, fidelity, or durability. Im so sad that Bose abdicated its position as the very best in accessible high-end sound equipment. Their stuff is now just overpriced for very shoddy products. Back when, if you purchased through Bose, the company allowed you to make monthly payments over 6 months or a year for their products. They dont do that anymore, and Im guessing its because they know full well that whatever you buy from them is not going to last that long. If you can get your hands on a pair of these oldies but goodies, DO SO. Leave everything else that Bose is making right now alone.

The headphones were misrepresented as new but were used
17 September 2018

These headphones had obvious signs of prior use. They were a gift for my wife and she was very disappointed when she noticed the signs of wear on the ear pieces that touch the ears. I noticed both the plastic nor the box had been opened. The wires were rewrapped. There is no way these were new. I would have paid the price for these nonreturnable headphones as I was buying what were represented as new. And the signs of wear are very obvious. And so I will purchase replaceable earpieces and hope the rechargeable battery holds up for the long run as I have no idea how many times these were previously charged. I could have bought used headphones for half of this price!!!! Very, very angry and disappointed.

Very good but -- Bose QC25 is quieter and more comfortable
9 July 2015

I bought a pair used, here on eBay for a very favorable price. They work well, no denying that. I've used them on 8 hour flights and was very glad to have them. But let's compare them to the top-of-the-line Bose QuietComfort 25. I've tried the QC25's; a friend has a pair. The QC25's have an earcup that completely surrounds your ear, not an on-the-ear design like these QC3's. I wear glasses, and at least for me I found the QC25's to be much more comfortable. Much more. Emphasis on 'much'. Subjectively I would say that the QC25's cancel noise better. That may have more to do with the earcup design than anything else just because the around-the-ear design seals out a lot of noise, so the electronics don't have as much to do. That may have more to do with the earcup design than anything else just because the around-the-ear design seals out a lot of noise, so the electronics don't have as much to do. The QC25's also lower the localized contact pressure on your head, which is why they're SO MUCH more comfortable. Less important differences: The QC25 uses a single AA battery for power; the QC3 uses a custom rechargeable battery pack. So the QC3 requires you to carry a special recharger, and eventually you'll have to spend for replacement batteries. I give an up-vote to the QC25 here because they use common, cheap batteries. If you want to use rechargeable AA batteries, that's your call and even those are a cheap commodity item. Battery life per charge (or per new AA battery for the QC25) is a non-issue. The batteries last a long time. My QC3's ran for two 8-hour flights on one charge on one battery with no problem. One last point: playing music into the headphones. You can only hear your music with the QC3 when the electronics are switched on. The QC25 will give you your music whether the electronics are on or off. That's an advantage for the QC25 as well. The QC3 was the best-in-class when it was new, and it's still very good. I got mine for one fifth the price of a new pair of QuietComfort 25, so I'm very happy with my purchase. But I'm aware that the QuietComfort 3 design has been eclipsed with the new and definitely better Bose design. If you can afford the price difference, I recommend going with the QC25's. You really can't go wrong. I'm happy with my purchase of a used pair of QC3's, but only because I got them at a very favorable price, thanks to eBay! At the price most of the QC3's are selling for, you should consider paying up for the QC25's. I'm giving a 4 our of 5 star review based on intrinsic quality, but yet I'm clicking "No, I would not recommend this product to a friend.'. Maybe you'll agree with my reasoning.

What a bargain! The sound quality of these headphones is fantastic. In fair used condition in terms of the case and the vinyl bits (as you would expect) - but absolutely doesnt detract from the quality of the sound. All complete, no bits missing. Thank you so much I shall enjoy these!
