As a long-term customer I expected much from a Bose. But this little thing surpassed all my expectations. It fits in your palm, but it still has this full Bose sound quality like its larger brethren. I have used it to cover an open space living room of ca. 1000 sq ft without any problem. No rattle in the full bass, clear high tones, nothing at miss. The battery lasts a full day. This is just awesome. A friend with a JBL twice the weight and size could not nearly match this little wonder in a side-by-side comparison. We made another side-by-side comparison with a large hardwired amazon echo and the little Bose won that, too. The only thing that Bose possibly could improve is the silicone belt strap. It would be nice if it would double as a vertical stand, because the ... MoreAs a long-term customer I expected much from a Bose. But this little thing surpassed all my expectations. I have had this speaker for at least 8 years, and it has never failed me. I’ve taken it to the beach, the gym, the shower, etc. Seriously, you name it. It has withstood so many different climate conditions and looks brand new. The battery life is also really impressive. I use it at least 8 hours a week, and I only need to charge it every week and a half or so. The sound quality is good for such a tiny device. I do wish it could get a little louder and had a stronger bass, but it way outperforms others in its size category.

Even almost three years later, and without any upgrades or new generations of the same product, the Bose Soundlink Flex remains the best portable speaker in all categories, period. It's durable, extremely portable, has great connectivity, good app integration, satisfactory battery life and most importantly, it sounds amazing. I've used many portable speakers over the years, both from Bose's top competitors, JBL and Ultimate Ears. What makes this speaker's sound quality stand out from the rest is its sound signature. While other companies focus on making crisp, extremely defined highs and deep, rattling bass, Bose keeps it simple by balancing it all into one warm, pleasant sound signature. This is the only speaker I have ever used that hasn't given me what I call "listening fatigue". Other sound signatures from JBL and UE, while they still sound great, almost overemphasize the extremes of the sound spectrum to where they become tiring to listen to after a few hours of play. They almost have a slight hollow, droning sound, compared to the Bose, which sounds full and hearty. The Bose Soundlink Flex is the only portable speaker of its size that I feel like doesn't drown itself out in it's own noise. Every note is delivered perfectly and doesn't interfere with other parts of the music. What makes this even more impressive is the size of this speaker. Other larger portable speakers, while louder, still do not sound as good as this little Bose. The best place to use this speaker is indoors in a small to medium sized space, preferably next to a wall, where it shines by delivering clear notes, warm mids and punchy bass. As for the outdoors, it still performs well, but will be underwhelming in terms of how loud it gets and how well you can identify the bass. However, expecting it to perform just as well outside and in large spaces would be unfair, as that is not what this speaker is made for. As for the use that it was intended, it is the perfect speaker and will continue to be a worthy purchase now and in the years to come.

This is a small but powerful portable bluetooth speaker. The wireless streaming delivers a powerful, rich, and clear room- filling sound with deeper bass. It last up to 7-8 hours from the rechargeable battery. I can connect it to my phone, tablet and other bluetooth enabled devices to get the boss quality sound. It’s small, so is very convenient to carry it everywhere, indoor or outdoor. I have this speaker for over 7 years and it still works great!
I recently purchased the Bose Soundlink Flex portable speaker and couldn’t be happier with it. The sound quality is great for a speaker this size. I love the portability of it and take it everywhere. The battery life is impressive and lasts for hours. Rugged and waterproof, it’s a good choice for accompanying with almost all outdoor activities. It’s been dropped, fallen in a pool and it still performs like new. Bluetooth connectivity is quick and hassle free. I, also like the teal color. I’d definitely recommend for anyone looking for a reliable outdoor (or indoor) speaker.
Bose is unmatched with portable devices. Easy to use. Impressive. Sound quality, durability, build quality, and innovation with each new generation of product are best-in-class. Battery life with Bluetooth and wireless connectivity options are supreme. Comfort with wearable products are top-tier, and ease-of-use with all consumer audio devices are easily #1. Product and technical support (and all customer service) are established as the absolute friendliest and most helpful in the audio industry. Whatever the issue, they’ll fix it and make it right. You really can’t go wrong as a customer of theirs.
This speaker has been amazing! I use it at work to play music for my patients. It's connectivity is top notch. I can walk far away and it still plays. The battery is wonderful. I can play it all day for my 16 hour shift at reasonable volume. If you increase the volume the battery will drain faster but still lasts a very long time. I highly recommend it.
I like it but I don't like it. At medium volume it does a decent job. Its enjoyable. It folds bass at high volume and distorts everything with a hiss at low volume. Its just mediocre outside of its sweet spot and since I mainly use it at very low volume I'm disappointed with it. Its decent for having background music going at the right volume. It can be used while charging and has a 3.5 jack. Two good features. I'm just disappointed because Bose is supposed to be the king of sound and this sounds terrible at low volume. I'm wondering if something is wrong with mine.
I purchased this to augment one of those nostalgic phono players, so mine is always plugged in but my battery light starts blinking after one album, so either mine is defective or the battery life on this isn't as awesome as I was expecting after seeing the reviews. As far as the sound quality, it has the classic rich, full sound of Bose and it is about a billion times better than the classic internal speakers that come with these all in one units but it isn't a party speaker and the bass is consistent with a pool side, personal speaker.Since mine is augmenting the less impressive speakers in my unit, I'm getting full stereo. The Bose fills in the tinny emptiness that the cheaper speakers have and, quite frankly, my little nostalgic player sounds like its hooked ... The Bose fills in the tinny emptiness that the cheaper speakers have and, quite frankly, my little nostalgic player sounds like its hooked up to my main sound system. Lots of depth, gets loud enough to inhibit conversation in the same room and no blur or crackle. The only give away is that the bass is a little weak. This speaker has a single input port so you can hardwire it. It's just the 3.5 mm jack but that's why I chose this unit, it will directly hook up to units that don't have a bluetooth out capability. It's super compact, so it hides away well if you are using it like I am and don't like the look of shelves or walls filled with speakers.Overall, I'm really happy with it. The directions are really awful. If you are using the line in, you have to switch the mode and the mode button is between the power button and the - (volume down) button. You just click it quickly and it will light up. Once you choose that mode, if you turn it off in that mode, when you turn it back on, it's still in that mode. You are better off using your gut to figure it out than using the really crummy instructions.Overall, good speaker, compact, delivers a reasonable volume with Bose depth. I have no regrets but, even in Bose world, you get what you pay for. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars in this price range is because the battery life doesn't impress me.
I gave this to my wife for Christmas. She actually wanted another small bluetooth speaker like the one she already had (different brand), so she could have one in the kitchen and keep one in the camper. I chose to surprise her with the Bose, and am really glad I did. She loves it. I've noticed it seems to fill the room with more sound, and more bass, at a lower overall volume than her other speaker. Needless to say, we now have a really bright speaker as part of our kitchen decor and the older one will be in the camper (likely only for use at times when she forgets to grab the Bose out of the kitchen before we leave). Can't speak for long-term, but I expect that's not going to be an issue with Bose based on prior experiences.
