Impressive sound from such a small speaker. I have owned the previous gen soundlinks and they have only gotten better with every update. Something about a down firing driver that just seems to fill the room with sound. This thing has been with me since Fathers Day 2017 and so far is the best portable speaker my wife has bought me. I am a big fan of Bose portable speakers, and this model is the best value of the ones I have bought. In fact, I took advantage of sale prices, and ended up with 2. The round design means that they sound good from any angle, so I use the first one in my open-plan kitchen/living room. I use the second one in my office. I have linked them (so I can hear music etc as I go back and forth between kitchen and office. But I find that finicky to do, and although the distance is not great, movement can cause gaps in the sound from the second speaker. So, that hasn't worked too well for my set up. But individually, the battery life, sound, ease of bluetooth connection, are outstanding. I like that this model also has Auxiliary function, for situations where bluetooth isn't ideal.

I recently purchased this Bluetooth speaker, as I have always wanted one, and my birthday is coming up! My previous Bluetooth speaker was the Bose Soundlink Color ii. Bose promises 360 degree audio, with clarity, and balance, no matter what direction you listen to it from. From the moment, I took it out of the package, I could feel the quality! The aluminum Luxe Sliver is shiny like a prized possession! The top and bottom are covered in soft rubber, and the buttons on top have wonderful tactility! Next it was time to see if it sounded as good as it looked! I turned the speaker on, and connected to my Bluetooth, and loaded YouTube Music. From the moment the first sound was heard, to turning the volume all the way up, all I could do was smile! This thing FEELS like it's built like a tank ââ solid and heavy ââ but after tipping over on a table...it's dead. Mind you, this tipping-over scenario is SPECIFICALLY MENTIONED on Bose's website/marketing materials as something this speaker could survive. But it didn't. Powers on fine, did multiple resets, troubleshooting ââ nothing. Bose wants $80 + shipping to fix something they advertise as a feature on an item that is less than 2 years old. I have Bose speakers, headphones, portable CD players from 10+ years ago that work perfectly and sound great, but all 3 items I've bought in the last 3 years are dead. I sense a pattern.
I have always wanted Boze sound. Now I have what they present as their best remote Bluetooth speaker. However, I lack the skills to use it to its capacity. I recently performed a couple of vocals using my new Resolve +II with great success. But Iâve had several problems where I couldnât get the device to connect to my iPhone and I didnât know where to turn. I may need instruction on activating: BluetoothâŚ. Boze connect⌠and iPhone music. By trial and error I get there but it would be very embarrassing in front of an audience. How can you help me???
Iâve had the speaker for a week and used it a ton so far. The sound quality is excellent. Impressive bass, especially considering its size. At max volume, it does get distorted. Thatâs no problem for me as I use it at more comfortable volumes most of the time and sound quality is most important. Even at 2/3 volume it fills my living room and kitchen to the point where itâs hard to talk over.Battery is even better than advertised. First charge lasted 25+ hours even though itâs supposed to be around 13. About 3-4 hours into the second charge and it still says itâs at 100%. The Bluetooth range is also comfortably better than the advertised 10 m. I was able to use it from across the house in the furthest basement room without any skipping.I did have a slight glitch ... MoreIâve had the speaker for a week and used it a ton so far. I was able to use it from across the house in the furthest basement room without any skipping.I did have a slight glitch with sound skipping (unrelated to Bluetooth range), but I looked it up on the Bose website and was able to solve the problem by not having more than 1 device connected to the speaker at once.I also appreciate that it has an AUX input. Thatâs rare with comparable speakers, but I really like being able to plug it into my TV (since its built in speakers are super tinny). The app is also easy to use. I really like being able to connect my phone to the speaker without even touching the speaker.Overall, itâs excellent. The sound quality, app, size, and battery all make it very convenient and effective.
I'm not the type of person that generally listens to music. ( I know weird right lol) I used to always buy cheap speakers in the past and i only used them to listen to music while I cleaned the house. however my roommates are a little loud so I needed some white noise and my cheap speakers just weren't doing it. The bose is so crisp I actually listen to music all the time now. So I've come to the conclusion that my hearing is so good that I could hear the static in cheaper speakers and never knew it. With the bose I am not annoyed by the sound at all and can listen to it louder and enjoy it. I highly recommend this speaker because it is music to my ears! I also love the fact when i turn it on it tells you how much battery is left!
I've never had butter poured directly into my ear, so what follows is pure speculation. To listen to rock and roll tunes as they issue forth from my Luxe Silver Bose Soundlink Revolve II portable Bluetooth Speaker is to have buttery joyfully smooth sounds cascade into my skullcap. So that's the top piece of bread in my review sandwich (WARNING! I have it on overnight to loop sleep sounds and in the morning to play various rock and roll music or news or an audiobook or what have you. At best it'll have enough charge for two of the night/morning cycles before it needs a charge. Listen, I got a no-name speaker for free from a promotional scheme once (probably part of the reason I get ~412 spam calls a day). I left that thing on all the time and it would last nearly a week. That brings me to the bottom bun in this review sandwich - connectivity. I constantly had to manually pair the no-name speaker with my various devices. The Luxe Silver Bose Soundlink Revolve II portable Bluetooth Speaker pairs so fast it borders on precognition. It's as if there's a little fairy inside just raring to unleash the buttery smooth sounds it is receiving.I'm going to toast the bun a little with this extra bit of info. It's made of metal, I'll bet I could use it as a weapon if I had to. To those considering this item, I advise you to go for it - price is reasonable, sound quality is top-notch, and it's very sturdy, just don't stray too far from a power source.
This Bose speaker is my new go-to for portable audio. I am not an audiophile with specially trained ears, but I have used a lot of speakers the last several years and this is by far the best I have used for the size. I compared this speaker to a similar sized one, with a similar intended purpose as an outdoor âpatio & pool sideâ companion. Compared to a speaker I thought sounded pretty good, I found that the Bose speaker has a much richer, warmer sound. The bass in particular was notable not so much because it was booming, but rather it added an excellent fullness to the sound that was noticeably lacking in the speaker I was using for comparison purposes, although I didnât realize what I was missing until I heard the Bose playing the same song. Across a variety of songs from several different genres I found this speaker produced exception sound accuracy for its size, not muddy or distorted at higher volume. While I donât generally listen to my music at max volume, I look at this speaker as intended for an outdoor event/party so I cranked it all the way up as a test. The sound meter app on my phone reached a high of 114 db, and I was impressed by how well the sound propagated throughout a full 360-degree sound field. Put this speaker in the middle of your party and it will cover the whole space pretty evenly. You shouldnât have to worry about battery life as it should exceed pretty much any event. I gave the speaker a full charge right out of the box before doing anything. After connecting it through the smartphone app it ran a lengthy update, after which the power registered 90%. I thought this would be bad as it seemed that the battery life dropped so rapidly, but I guess the update was just power intensive because over the course of the next several days I ran it a total of 22 hours at home and at work. The power still indicated 10% at that point, but I ruined the test by charging the speaker so that it wouldnât run out on me the next day!The build quality of this speaker feels top notch. It simply feels really solid, and there is nothing "plastic-y" about it. The body has a rugged metal casing that doesnât deform at all under pressure, even around the perforated base. The finish appears to be very scratch resistant and shows absolutely no fingerprints even after several days of frequent handling. The bottom has a nice thick rubber pad which provides a slip free, stable base. The top, including the control buttons is a smooth, soft rubber material that like the metal housing, seems to be impervious to fingerprinting. The buttons themselves are satisfyingly âclickyâ and responsive. One nice thing that I hadnât seen in the documentation was the inclusion of a threaded socket in the center of the base. This allows you to attach this speaker to a tripod, which just feels like the perfect way to position this speaker up at a good height to really allow the audio to cover a wide area better than just plopping the speaker on a table. I only had one speaker, so I canât do a two-speaker setup to get stereo sound, but I think this would also be improved by the tripod mounting method. Iâm not really sure if I would call this speaker water proof, so much as âsplash resistantâ. This is because there is no way to seal over the power/USB connection or the Aux in jack. Other speakers that I have that bill themselves as beach and pool type speakers include a rubber cover over the plugs which would not only keep out water, but small particulates like beach sand. I also wouldnât want to get water inside the perforated base because even if the inside components could conceivably survive, I donât see any way to effectively get it out again.Connecting this speaker to both my phone and an inexpensive Bluetooth enabled mp3 player I use at work was extremely simple and didnât require the Connect App. The voice prompts were very clear and think some of the least mechanical/computerized I have heard in speakers or headphones I own. I did download the app on my phone and the app offers a simplified connection method (certainly better than the settings menu on my phone) that scans for the device, and connects with a swipe. I also liked that it allowed control of the music playback basic functions in app. Oddly, while my phone connected both with and without the app while testing, my Samsung tablet staunchly refused to connect at all, no matter what I did, until I downloaded the app and ran the connection from that. While the app was a slicker connection method, I donât really like that it was the only way I could get the speaker to link up with my tablet as that too me makes the connection less flexible.A couple of other little things I came across I thought were worth mentioning. First, while this speaker certainly had a premium look, feel and sound quality I was surprised that Bose didnât include at least a basic carrying bag or something similar for toting this speaker around. It is something that I have found is extremely common even in much, much less expensive speakers, and it just felt oddly cheap to leave out of the box. Also, this speaker doesnât come with a charger, just a USB cable. While most people have chargers laying around It seems like a charger that is optimized for the power consumption of the speaker would have been a nice inclusion. I also realized upon looking at the bottom of the speaker that it has the ability to be set on a charging base, and I think that would have been a nicer touch to put in the box than the USB cable. I have purchased speakers in the past that included such charging bases as part of the purchase of the device. I searched online for the charging base and I guess they are available for over $30, so I guess I will just stick with the cable method for the time being.Because of the combination of these several small items I decided it was a 4, not 5-star speaker. While I really do like this speaker, my expectations are just a little bit higher for this product because of the price point and reputation of the manufacturer. Itâs the best sounding speaker its size that I now own, and I would still recommend it despite the small issues I mentioned above.
As has been my long experience with Bose products, this small but powerful speaker is a high-quality product that puts out sound that exceeds expectations based on its size.Clearly the Soundlink Revolve II is a well-engineered speaker with a few thoughtful features. Connectivity to the Bose app was virtually instantaneous and was confirmed by a voice prompt from the speaker. When connected, it automatically updated speaker software. There is a multi-use button that allows you to select your language and when this is done, there is also a voice confirmation.I cannot say this is a pretty speaker (the âsquished cylinderâ look is not a favorite) but at only 6â tall it can be easily hidden, but audibly delightfully present. It feels very solid and durable. The simplicity I experienced in connectivity is also evident with the minimal controls which consist of 6 buttons on top: On/Off, Volume Up, Volume Down, Bluetooth, Multifunction, and Share which permits the speaker to connect wirelessly to others. Once connected to a phone via Bluetooth, calls can be answered or placed through it.On the bottom, there is a circular rubber ring that holds the speaker solidly in place. And although not mentioned in the minimalist literature provided, there is a female thread that fits a tripod (and other stands, I assume) as well as four small âdotsâ which look like they are intended to fit and connect the Soundlink Revolve II to a product-specific stand. Again, I am speculating as there is no mention of these by Bose.OK, letâs get to the essence: The sound is very good. If this were not a Bose product, Iâd say âsurprisinglyâ but this is the kind of engineering for which the company is known. Even at high volume, the sound was not noticeably distorted and can fill a modestly-sized room. This productâs foci are portability, ease of use, and decent sound. It achieves all three with simplicity and high quality.
