Shipping was very fast and product arrived in perfect condition. I'm really enjoying my Loopstation. There are many effects that I am still exploring. The basics like reverb and delay are very useful. It's a joy to create music without a DAW. This process has really enhanced my workflow. I love that you can make the loops out of sync, which is nice for certain drone type music. Also really amazing to use this as a MIDI master. So many possibilities that I'm just still discovering.

I am a hobby guitarist/bass player but like to dabble with a midi controller keyboard and drums maybe 15 years experience.Whats shocking to me is I have not had to pull out the manual once and Im not a tech savvy guy in fact quite the opposite. I struggled using computer programs to record but this is plug and play. So much easier than anything i've looped with in the past. I have the Fs6 pedal with 2 switches programmed to rec/play whichever channels I choose and have all my instruments and microphones fed through a mixer and can instantly have a full blown song in no time. 5 channels leave flexibility for changes for verses or choruses or breaks or to quickly undo. I own several loopers and this one is ok except for:The deal killer for me on this is that there is no way of having it ignore midi start stop messages !!If you have it hooked up to a midi clock signal any time you start or stop the clock this will start and stop.I contacted Roland and they don't seem to think this is a problem. I use a rhythm machine or DAW, logic, as my system midi clock, any time these start they send a midi start signal, most gear can filter this out, this can't !So when you start your drum machine the looper starts. This doesn't work for me. I want to start the looper later after the drum machine starts. I really can't believe this simple function was left out and no interest in fixing it. It's great! Still working out all the settings, but I think you could still find something else a year into having it. It's light but feels stable. Installing the driver to my Mac was a bit of a headache, but now it's on there, everything runs smoothly for when I want to record or use it via zoom. It's changed what I can do as a sound designer and performer. Still waiting to test it with Midi!
There is a learning curve, but I found it very intuitive.I’ve been using the Boss RC-300 for more than five years and this is even better.The sound quality is excellent; having five tracks to work with allows so many more possibilities while remaining easy to operate. The LED loop progress indicators let you know how long the loop is (which is a definite upgrade over the RC-300).If you’re looking to go DAWless, this is a great way to do it. Sophisticated effects are made performances ready with a bit of practice.Wish I’d purchased sooner.You get a lot of value for the price.
Boss has created the end game of all loop pedals, although this is more like a table top mixer, feels more like youre a producer in a music studio. Once this is geared up with CTRL pedals this is so easy to use its ridiculous with all instruments. Beat boxers to live looping musicians will love it. What a great product - would highly recommend over RC-505 mk2 as they havent quite got the software worked out like the mk 1.
