Excellent product again from Bowflex like the M6 Max trainer , my favorite.very impressed! Putting it together is little tedious for me, called in another friend and was actually easier than I expected. The parts are all well made and instructed/directed. The instructions were easy to follow. Took about couple of hours and 20 mins. Tried it out to see how it felt and the resistance rods really do make a difference. I love the resistance the whole time you do reps. You really feel the burn in your muscles! I'm a female who works out a lot and I think this bowflex is great for just about anyone since you have so many options for the resistance and different exercises. I highly recommend this for wellness seekers

The rating that I gave is related to the inability to increase the amount of resistance by adding more resistant rods. I was not aware that the PR1000 could not be upgraded until I tried to order the heavier rods and found out that this machine is not compatible or capable of upgrades. Aside from that, I would recommend this machine to beginners.

This is a really great machine for toning and weight loss. It is not suitable for body building, as you cannot upgrade the weights beyond a combined weight of 210 lb.- easy to assemble by 1 person- I am 6’2ā€ and fit in it comfortably, although the leg press resistance begins earlier than for shorter people- the rowing function is not a replacement for a rowing machine, as the posture and movements are different- it is very important to read the instructions on how to correctly complete the exercises, since they differ slightly from the standard machines in the gym (originally, I felt the machine was faulty until I read the manual more attentively)- I found the manual to be insufficient so I use the manual for the Bowflex Blaze instead (PR1000 can do 58 of the ...Ā MoreThis is a really great machine for toning and weight loss. Instead of 1-2 sets at 12 reps, I do 3 sets of 20 reps at a lighter weight and don’t feel like I am spending all of my gym time resetting the cables. I also custom-built my workout using the Blaze manual to cover all muscle groups once and to follow a process of minimal change between sets- it is very easy to change weights and positions and the machine is very quiet (no clanking weights at the end of each rep)I do not foresee going above 210 lb but if I did I would go with the Blaze. I am very happy with my workout and strongly recommend this product!

With over 30 different exercises possible, it's like having an entire gym in the comfort of my home.Assembly was surprisingly straightforward, thanks to clear instructions and well-labeled parts. I was able to put it together on my own without any major issues. The build quality is excellent, and it feels sturdy and durable. I appreciate that Bowflex uses high-quality materials that can withstand regular use.One of the standout features for me is the Power Rod resistance system. It provides a smooth and consistent resistance throughout the entire range of motion, making my workouts more effective and less jarring on my joints compared to traditional weights. Plus, the resistance can be easily adjusted to suit my fitness level, allowing for gradual progression.Another bonus is the compact footprint of the PR1000. It doesn't take up much space in my home, which is a huge plus for those with limited workout space. When I'm done with my workout, I can fold it up and tuck it away, making it even more convenient.Overall, the Bowflex PR1000 Home Gym has become an essential part of my fitness routine. It's versatile, easy to assemble, durable, and space-efficient. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced fitness enthusiast, I highly recommend the PR1000 for anyone looking to achieve their fitness goals in the comfort of their own home. It's a fantastic investment in your health and well-being.

Good entry-level home gym
11 February 2022

I started using the PR1000 two weeks ago.Positives: nice entry-level home gym with lots of different exercise options. For starters it comes with a description of 6 different training goals (general fitness, strength, etc). And most important (for me), it's immediately usable, no time-consuming trip to the Gym.Negatives (if you want to see it like that): Because it's an all-in-one machine, you're constantly rewiring (from upper pull to lower pull).I still rate it with 5 stars since it does for me, what I had expected.Advanced professionals might look for higher-level machines that also allow for bigger weight resistance (the PR1000 goes up to 105 pounds on one side).

Great machine
12 August 2022

The Bowflex PR1000, is fabulous and simple yet a very effective workout machine. Even though it has now been updated by other Bowflex machines this still is challenging and alot of fun. There are some great videos on Youtube showing you what to do. Using the PR1000 is never a task always look forward to the next workout. Customer service was also excellent, helpful and professional. Machine was sent within a week and arrives quickly.

Just What I Needed (for now).
7 July 2021

I am 57 years old, obese with chronic health conditions. I purchased this piece to mainly strengthen muscles that were not used due to osteoarthritis pain, not to mention being quarantined upon the couch watching TV and eating Little Debbie snacks for over a year. I wanted gain my mobility back and I knew I had to start slow, strengthening my muscles. I can’t do much walking but this helps build energy so I can do more a little bit at a time. This piece replaces 5-pieces of gym equipment and does not require a lot room. The weight limit is 350 but I can tell you I’m well over that and thus far, no problems. It’s sturdy and the quality is good. It took a minute for me to be able to get on/off but since using this, my leg muscles have strengthened and is now easier to ...Ā MoreI am 57 years old, obese with chronic health conditions. I was able to purchase this for $499 before the price hike to $700; and I paid $89 for assembly. This was a good investment for my health. I’ll probably upgrade and sell this one once I gain my strength and mobility back.

Love my Bowflex
23 April 2021

So, I’m a 50+ female who is ā€˜starting all over again’ with fitness. I wanted something multifunctional that would work all the muscle groups. This fit the bill. It was fairly easy to assemble with 2 people, although when I took out the seat it had a tear in it that was not apparent from the packaging - somewhat disappointing. Aside from that, all parts were there, and in good condition. However, the instruction book was not very helpful with getting started. I went online and found some great YouTube videos that really helped. Would recommend this item. Be aware that the PR1000 does not support upgrading the power rods. That’s fine for me, but you might want to choose another model if you anticipate wanting more weight. Overall I’m very happy with the purchase.

Okay for general/occasional use

My background: Recreational lifter for past 7 years, 3-4x/week, goals - athleticism (speed, endurance, some muscular/strength gains, flexibility, maintenance of low body fat %)Parts: heavy duty, most parts felt durable, rods were a bit bent when received, I was missing handles and plate support for the rodsDuring use: As some buyers say - rods true weight are LESS than advertised. Used a pulley scale and the 50 lb rod and 75% bend was about 30 lb's. It felt stable while exercising. Only 2 positions for bench - flat/45 incline. The upper bar moves a bit, so had to add extra washers than manual mentioned to keep it solid. Leg press with the belt felt EXTREMELY light. Good thing Walmart was nice enough to help me out instead and give me a partial refund for missing parts, and I was able to purchase new 3rd party handles.Overall, good enough to do my resistance training workouts while away from the gym. Don't think this would hold up over time due to decrease weight feel of the rods. Definitely a great back up once gyms open up again. Great for people starting out, or who don't use "heavier" resistance.

You wont be happy with it
7 January 2022

It really doesn't do the job you want it to do. It doesn't feel satisfying. It's worse if you are taller as well...like even at 5'8" it starts going down hill drastically. If you are hesitant don't bother - since you cannot return it if you don't like it!There are maybe 3-4 exercises we thought worked well...that's it.We all know exercise equipment can sit around unused at times, even if you like it - well this one will definitely sit around because you wont like it. We tried it because we have a Bowflex treadmill we really like...but weights over rods are the way to go.
