Delicious and satisfying

I am eating these beans more regularly because I always enjoy them so much and they are so economical. They also agree with my tummy and never give me flatulence like the leading brand. I tried Branston's low sugar and low salt version but they were nowhere as tasty and satisfying as this original version. They are great value and one tin does me 2 meals. I have also incorporated them into rice and rice risotto. Very tasty.

Good but packaging needs improvement!

After noticing that the well known brand has been gradually losing flavour over the years, we now buy this brand which is far better in terms of the softness of the beans and the flavour quality of the sauce. For my husband and son, this is their preferred brand now, but for me the M&S one just pips this as it has more sauce, which I prefer, and is also very tasty. However if you like lots of beans and not too much sauce then this is the best. Note that the single cans have ring pulls and this multipack does not, plus the multipack comes wrapped in plastic, annoyingly, (the cardboard now used by the leading brand is one of their better points). Hence I have marked the single can 5 stars but this one 4 stars. For this reason I only buy the multipack if single cans ... MoreAfter noticing that the well known brand has been gradually losing flavour over the years, we now buy this brand which is far better in terms of the softness of the beans and the flavour quality of the sauce. Been buying Branson beans for 10+ years, always recommending it over all others as the best beans. A rich tangy thick sauce and good beans.Well no more, it's over. With the recent rebrand; they have changed the recipe, the sauce is now extremely watery and bland - making a small selection of beans floating in a giant pool of water with a hint of tomato.Ignore all historical reviews; they are based on a previous recipe when the beans deserved five stars.Shame on branston for ruining the beans after over a decade of being the best. Might as well buy Heinz now (never thought I'd say that) or super market own brand.

Telling it like it T.I.S.

To paraphase a famous line... Bean Meanz... BEANZ!!! Let's be honest, the product is, and always has been the same. Haricot beans cooked and added to a mixture of liquid and spices (corporate secrecy a must), so the result usually ends up as a food stuff that can be either (love one, hate all the rest), or (no real preference, any will suffice).I belong to the latter group so the only real deal breaker (in these dark days) is ultimately the cost, so that being said my only reason for buying the brand of the product in question is they were cheaper than the oppositon (and we all know who they are!!!).If, in the near future the pricing were to change then so would my buying habits.

The BEST branded Baked beans
16 August 2024

Delicious, savoury beans, better than Heinz & slightly less sweet. Baked for longer for a slightly softer bean. Very balanced savoury taste, similar to Heinze, but slightly less sweet & ultimately nicer! I've tried them all & these are the very best you can buy. Look out for regular bargains on these...

The way Baked Beans used to taste!
12 October 2024

Many well known makes of baked beans don't seem to me to have the flavour of how I remember them as a child. I discovered Branston Baked Beans and they have such flavour whereas other makes seem so bland. There is a great tomatoey taste and I have also used them in other recipes, in casseroles or in pasta dishes. I also like the fact that Branston make them in small tins as well as large, especially for people on their own. Certainly they are my first choice when buying Baked Beans.

When did they change the recipee
12 May 2022

These beans, even though not their low salt version, have gone low salt. They have sodium reduced sea salt, and salt. They have total salt per 100 grams of 0.6 grams. An old tin I found had 0.9 grams per 100 grams and no sodium reduced sea salt. I don't know if it is just the reduced salt or a change in other flavourings but we find these bland. The beans have a nice consistency, not too pasty soft. Adding salt after or whilst heating doesn't taste the same as cooking the salt in in the first place, and we end up eating more salt than we would had they left them alone. Salt isn't a problem for us as we don't live off of ready prepared meals so I would rather they did a properly salted version. Even adding salt, paprika, black pepper couldn't bring these up to the ... MoreThese beans, even though not their low salt version, have gone low salt. They have sodium reduced sea salt, and salt. Where have the ring pulls gone?
13 April 2024

I have been buying the multi pack of these beans for ages and when I went to get a can out today I discovered that there are no longer any ring pulls! Like a lot of other people I don't own a can opener and don't feel inclined to buy one. We changed to Branston beans as they are nicer than the others but now I'll either have to buy individual tins or another brand. I'm not sure whether a food bank would welcome this multipack either due to the difficulty in opening them. Very disappointed.

contents of can only weigh 350 grams
13 January 2024

The contents (beans and juice) only weigh 350grams ,410 grams with the tin . These beans are delicious better than Heinz .we have bought them for many years as I am not a a fan of Heinz beans . I find it very unfair and misleading that the contents only weigh 350 grams. I was just a little curious because when I opened the tin the beans were not to the top of the can. I am annoyed that you do not get the full 410 grams of beans.

great flavour but poor quality tins
8 February 2024

Very tasty beans have only bought these for years but sadly since they introduced the ring pull opener they have to be opened by a tin opener from the bottom. Ring pull pulls off every time. Have complained to the company but no active response from them. Have tried other makes but have had to go back reluctantly to these Branston beans for the flavour. Cannot see why the company have trouble making ring pull cans when so many other companys manage perfectly
