Our previous blender was not able to get the right texture- the machine was not powerful enough to truly get the dough right. I debated long about buying this or the other very popular high end brand, but ultimately went with this as I trusted German engineering and design, and I've owned a couple of very good Braun hand mixers before. I got the full package with the To Go bottle to make smoothies. The blender itself is incredibly powerful (and incredibly loud) and I like the self clean feature. I deducted a star for the noise and I find the lid a bit tight and not easy to take off. What I really dislike though is the sealing ring that comes off from the To Go Bottle. We've also made cookies, pancakes, waffles, coconut milk, mayo and pumpkin butter. I'm excited to use it for chilled avocado soup and guacamole next. A few features make it encouraging to use.First - the 18 customizable food program options takes the guess work out; I don't need to think about how strong or how long or if I should pulse. There's a guide with pictures, and it's been spot on for us. We only used a manual setting once out of curiosity.Second - cleaning is fast and low effort. I rinse, add some water and dish soap, put the cap on, press the clean button, then rinse clean. I pour the water/soap mixture over the lid for added cleaning. We have a faucet with hose and spray feature which makes it quick to rinse out the blender jar while I hold it upside down over the sink.Other favorite features are that the weight is light enough so it doesn't feel likea chore to move around, there is cord storage within the base of the blender, the jar feels very secure on the base and the timer when you use the food program options so it stops blending automatically when done. I don't have to stand next to the blender, set a timer, or intensely watch the mixture inside. It's the small things that sometimes make such a big difference.A few things to consider though. (1) The height of the blender. I like the size and shape, but it barely doesn't fit under our cabinets that hang lower. We have a food prep area that has minimal profile cabinets, so we keep the blender there. (2) Having cord storage is amazing since we leave it on the counter, but you really have to wiggle it into the compartment. (3) Be careful with the fill cap to make sure it's securely on; it took a few tries for me to figure out you needed to twist till you felt a click.Overall, this blender is easy to use, versatile in what it can make and makes it well, low maintenance, and looks good on the counter but also easy to move to/from pantry or cabinet if preferred. We have no hesitation in using it and love the results plus easy cleanup!

With great power, however, comes great volume. This thing is loud. For some this may not be an issue, but I made the mistake of blending the soup after my kids went to bed and it scared my baby awake, and she was a floor above me. The sound is not a dealbreaker, but definitely something to consider with the timing of your blender use. For some this may not be an issue, but I made the mistake of blending the soup after my kids went to bed and it scared my baby awake, and she was a floor above me. The sound is not a dealbreaker, but definitely something to consider with the timing of your blender use. The controls function through a dial, start/stop button, and touch buttons, which work very well and looks great. It’s a very sleek and aesthetically pleasing design. The blender is also quite tall, it barely fits underneath my cabinets. For comparison, it is taller than the stand mixer on my countertop. When it comes to the different program options, for the type of blending I do, I found them to be excessive. I could get by with a few programs and the pulse button and have all of my needs satisfied. While it is nice to have options, I find that I don’t use a majority of the ones offered to me. One of the main things I use my blender for is to make protein shakes, and this blender is far too large for a single serving drink, I would definitely recommend a drink attachment for that type of use. The blender washes well in the dishwasher, and on the whole I’m pleased with it, however it does feel like it may be designed for someone who does more heavy duty blender work than I do.
If you want a powerful blender than could probably deform a fork than this is for you. I have pulverized soups, frozen fruit, fresh fruit and many other things without a problem. I used to have issues with food getting stuck at the too if my old blender or not fully mixing but the automatic time programs make sure to get everything nice and smooth or chunky however you want it. I can throw all my smoothie ingredients in, walk away and come back when it is done and not worry about it. You can select the consistency you want and it comes out perfect every time. It makes sense that it is loud because of how powerful it is but I have to choose my time wisely when I want to use it. One thing I look at when trying a blender is if it will blend fruit seeds like strawberries and raspberries and I don't like seedy smoothies, and this blender does the job, making a very smooth smoothie.The blender is easy to clean. The pitcher is a nice size to easily use a soft bottle brush on, and there is a cleaning setting that you can use so long as you haven't let food dry onto the blender.I am really liking this blender. The only down sides are how big the base is, as it takes significant counter space, and the blender is noisy, but I have found that to be the case with any powerful blender.I would definitely recommend this blender. It has a lot of nice functions and can be used for multiple things.
