The Panera Bread tomato basil bread had lots of toasting performance problems in my previous purchases and returns but here with the Bit More model, I finally landed on 3 on the slider, rather than the higher numbers of other models where the toasting wasn't sufficient regardless of number! There is a big restaurant quality difference in toasting quality and performance here. I am very pleased and if the toaster fails, I'll get the same model or the upgrade. The performance is worthy of investment.The bottom line is a full American breakfast with Vegan eggs and Vegan Cheese is important to me. The toast is everything and toasting performance cannot be compromised. The experience is enhanced with the bit more function which offers insurance that I will get the toasting right the first time w/o starting a fresh cycle. This investment grade toaster fills the bill!

For some reason, the inner heating elements on both sides will not toast when the toaster is set to normal - NOT BAGEL and NOT FROZEN.When set to Bagel - the inner heating elements heat, while the outter elements do not. I believe this function is correct and it tells me that there is nothing physically wrong with the inner heating elements as they do work when on Bagel setting. Too high a price to pay for a toaster with a lever that doesnāt work. There is a design/operational defect with this toaster. Itās disappointing because itās Breville and you expect better.This is a replacement that was sent to me for the Same design that I ordered earlier and thought it was a glitch with a one off piece. Customer care was understanding and sent me a replacement. But the replacement has the same issue. For $100 this is definitely not worth it. Very disappointed!

It took several emails form me for them to understand what I wanted to know and ultimately in frustration, I gave up, hence my criticism of their customer service in this regard and less than a perfect five star rating.It is far too soon to comment on durability other than to say that, as this is our very first traditional style toaster, we opted for the purchase of an extended warranty because, like refrigerators, dishwashers and stoves, they just donāt make āem like they used to. And we have to assume this may be the case for toasters as well. Having said that, however, we are very pleased with this Breville modelās style, dimensions, features and performance.

This particular model the long slot toaster is so noisy when it pops up, then you can't get the toast out without lifting the handle and then it isn't even high enough to get it out without burning your fingers. Sometimes you have to unplug it and use a knife to get it out, and lastly you put it on a setting and the first set of toast comes out fin but subsequent pieces burn on same setting. Now this same model in the shorter version works fine as we were just staying with friends who have it, although they did say this is their second one as the heating elements burned out. I have had the 2 slice toaster for a month and have used all it's features and have even used it on middle eastern flat bread, pita and sprouted wheat bread as well. Very satisfied. It looks like the inside elements don't turn red but they do work perfectly. It toasts evenly and adjusts easily and accurately. Great design, looks great and I don't have to turn it sideways to get to the controls.Sorry to see thise negative reviews. I for one am very satisfied and I am extremely picky.

Its stainless steel build leads me to believe that it won't break down anytime soon. For my family, a few features were most important.. toast length and width (turkish bread and regular loaf bread), bread type (fruit, crumpets, homemade), quality of toaster (heavy or light), extra buttons (defrost, crumpet, cancel). The toaster has now been used on a regular basis for at least 6 weeks and upon reflection it is THE best toaster i have purchased to this date.. For me i started with the intention of budget, this changed when i started comparing function. Sure if you have money to splash out for brand logo or look, go for it. If however you want a well functioning toaster thats going to give you toast, with ease and individuality that seems like it will work time after time yhan this is my recommendation. 500 stars!!
I had purchased this toaster via Williams Sonoma and was excited to receive this. First toast proved to be disappointing. Uneven toast, all elements not working. After contacting customer support, running through the process, was told that āit toasts, thereās no issuesā. Fine, Iāll hope that the other features will prove to be worth it and I could deal with having to toast one side again to get an even piece of toast. Well, not the case. Seems like every time I use this, which is frequently, is a disappointment.
