I've used several different juicers in a lab setting (I'm a food scientist). A lot of reviews on here are complaining about this juicer having too much waste / froth. That's typical of centrifugal juicers, and this juicer is a bit of a hybrid centrifugal juicer. The way the blade structure and mesh works on this you get a bit of the best of both worlds. The blade on here will generate less friction than a lot of standard juicers and definitely less than a blender, but it still does not have the same juicing properties as a masticating grinder (aka slow juicer or cold press juicer). Those juicers are ideal if you want the least amount of waste, no foam, etc. They use a physical augur (like a corkscrew) to crush the product to create the juice. The thing to keep in mind is those tend to be bulkier, much slower, more expensive, and you can't just put a ton of stuff in at once like you can with this juicer. So far I think this is a nice in-between, and I definitely like it more than some of the traditional centrifugal juicers I've used. It's super easy to clean too just rinsing 3 parts in a sink which I like. If you are having trouble juicing stuff like hardy leafy greens like kale I'd suggest you cut them and mix them with a small amount of water or other juice when you add them to the mixer.I do think they could be a bit better with naming this device though. The "Cold" in the name implies that it acts like a normal cold press juicer when it really is more of a hybrid centrifugal juicer. I think it's slightly misleading to people that have 0 experience with juicers and is probably why there are a bunch of negative reviews.I'm taking one star off because of the misleading name, but otherwise it's a good juicer. However do not buy it if you are specifically looking for a "Cold press" or "Masticating" juicer.

I yielded 50 0z of such an amazing juice. If I had juiced everything I most likely would have gone over 70 oz. The pulp wasnt wet. I got some foam, but thats usually because of the apple. I strained it and did not affect the overall output. Easy to clean via rinsing. The only part i needed soap was the blade. NOT GOOD for light leafy greens such as spinach. For that you need an grinder juice (Masticating). The Kale gave a good 8Oz of DARK GREEN goodness thick enough to hold the other 42 0z of the rest. Our juicer functionally is top-notch, no complaints. However there is one small cosmetic flaw that we found: in the plastic filter bowl surround (which is also referred to as the juice collector) there is an edge within the bowl that is not polished. It feels rough to the touch as though it is broken or cracked, which is not the case, it's just unfinished. Anyway this discolored after a few uses and the discoloration cannot be removed. We called to complain about this, and were told that since the juicer is still functional, this is not covered under the warranty. After expressing our serious disappointment with this, the agent we spoke to agreed to replace the part as a goodwill gesture. If not for this I would definitely give this juicer a full 5 stars.

Not a good product

We have replaced our old juicer with this one. Unfortunate this one is doesn't perform to our expectations. Juice separation for the pulp is poor and inefficient. I would say it has 40% juice extraction. When pulp is produced and gets in container its still wet and dripping juice. In fact you can find whole slices of fruits and vegies in it. In most usage attempts it leaks from the top and makes mess. Pulp gets stuck in the separation bowl and clogs the entire unit - irrelevant of low and high speeds settings and different fruits or vegies used. When juice is extracted and in jug it has a massive foam on top and if you ever think of juicing apples it already oxidases them making juice nice and brown which is not desired. Now some pros - unit has a sleek design and ... MoreWe have replaced our old juicer with this one. Unfortunate this one is doesn't perform to our expectations. Powerful juicer, easy to clean
15 October 2022

I gave my smaller version of the Breville Juice Fountain to a friend of mine battling cancer, so I purchased this one to replace it. Bottom line, it juices everything perfectly and is pretty easy to clean as it all comes apart. I would highly recommend it. If you are deciding between this one and the slightly smaller sized Breville juicer, base it on the size of the pitcher (i.e. how much volume of juice you plan to make each time). This one has a slightly more powerful motor, but I didn't notice the difference in juicing ability -- they are both excellent. Also, I have had the masticating juicers and my experience is that they are a *royal pain* to clean. I opted to exchange ease of cleaning for the relatively small difference in the amount of nutrients lost.

Review of Breville BJE430SIL Cold Fountain Juicer.
28 February 2023

The Breville Juice Fountain is a Centrifugal type Juicer. I love it and give it 5 stars. I am still learning about Juicers. The centrifugal is a high speed unit and can juice quickly, when done a half hour cleanup. I have not got a masticating Juicer yet, I want one. They are slower to use and crunch fruit and veggies via worm drive and leave pulp very dry while the Breville leaves pulp a tad wetter. Honestly, I made the choice of the Breville juicer, i love it, it is fast, cleanup is fairly quick. Unit is loud on high speed, but very quick. Do your research first, then choose fast or slow. The slow ones carry 10 - 15 year warranties. Happy Juicing!

BEWARE! DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINEI purchased this on 05/07/22 and on 9/21/22 it stopped working. Within the past week it started to leak everywhere during operation. It also has stopped juicing the whole vegetable I put in. I have even started to cut the pieces smaller just to make sure it wasn’t jamming and that did not solve the issue. Now when I turn it on it just revs really high, the red light flashes and it turns off. Cannot get through to Breville warranty their website says they close at 5pm PCT so I called at 3:50p and said they are closed, every time I call it says they are closed. Unable to find a resolution for such an expensive machine. Complete and utter garbage.

My son wont ever go hungry now even when he is home alone and neither will I need to worry about him eating out of some packet during his hunger pangs! The next amazing feature was the powerful engine, which made juice extraction even from celery leaves so easy and possible. I generally threw the leaves away as juicing them was not worth the effort...but with Breville I dont even have to worry about de-leaving the clelery sticks neither do I have to spend time in chopping them or any other fruit... just wash, pop in, turn the knob, collect the juice and drink... yea, that easy! This is definitely one of my favourite kitchen accessory! Adding goodness, removing inconveniences-mess-guilt! Breville- you rockstar, I cannot get enough of you!

Wastes juice
8 September 2022

I've had this juicer for about two years, didn't use it that often, noticed the pulp is very wet after juicing but didn't think much of it since this is my first juicer. Now that I am pregnant and having issues with heartburn, I brought it out again to make celery juice to help alleviate my symptoms. The juicer still leaves much of the juice in the pulp and it's such a waste. From a bag of celeries (about two stalks) I am able to get maybe 16 oz and a bucket full of wet pulp. I tried to put the pulp back into the juicer in efforts to retrieve more juice but it's just a mess. I didn't realize this was an issue until I saw other juicers that yielded more juice and dry pulp. I decided to read reviews, and it's a common problem with this juicer. Still disappointed. I also had issues with the pulp clogging the clear part and not going into the bin like it should.
