I bought the 3 in 1 combiwave hoping it would replace a knackered microwave and air fryer and supplement the oven for smaller jobs. Good news, it's a great microwave and pretty good oven, unfortunately I really struggle to get the air fryer results I am used to (and the air fryer we used to have was not an expensive model) . When using the air fry feature, I find the items needs way longer than in a normal air fryer at a much higher temp setting and even then the results is often more a light bake than a crispy fry. You also have to preheat the air fry so if you cook something and it needs a bit longer, you have to extend the time before the bell goes otherwise it will make you preheat which I think is just microwave? The unit looks great and I do like the soft ... MoreI bought the 3 in 1 combiwave hoping it would replace a knackered microwave and air fryer and supplement the oven for smaller jobs. I wish I'd bought the 2 in 1 version and then just bought an air fryer...which I will probably end up having to buy. Sorry Breville, i really wanted this to work!

The staff are great however the product is not. Concept is great but is obviously not yet doing as they hope. If meal is not quite cooked on convection oven despite following the limited instructions you cannot just Pop the food back in for 5 minutes longer. The combo has to go through another PREHEAT cycle. Same applies to air fryer. The recipe book has to be downloaded and the recipes are sparse and hard to relate your own recipes to. It didn’t cook as well as suggestedIt’s not possible to extend cooking times without preheat cycle!. Airfryer plate must be preheated and getting food off and on problematic. Advertising suggests it’s easier to use than it actually is.

To give more insightful review I would have to have used it for more than a year. That said after short time, I have been using it, it seems to be very useful and I would venture to say that it is fun and easy to use. Microwaveing is even as the other reviews said. Other function are good but it will not replace any of your other dedicated appliances like oven or grill. Though it comes close. I used the combination cooking function and it is pretty good. Made sweet potato fries several times now, all good. Pan insert holding up well. If it came with two it would be even better, so I can cook another dish without delay of cooling then cleaning the single pan. I had a Breville microwave before and it gave out a month after warranty ended so I hope this one keeps on working. I like it. Cleaning - Well the very back and top is a tad hard and needs extra care to clean but then my full size oven looks like ww2 trenches after explosion. Will see after couple of years use. The knobs look good but plastic feels cheap, so I hope they last the distance. So far no issues.

From a Bachelor

I view this item as an expensive household gadget, particularly for a simple bachelor, who thought the extra features would future proof the kitchen, and expand upon culinary skills. The brushed SS is rather tin-ish in look and feel, and the plastic display panel couples the diminished cheap appeal. Not even protected with sticker, the panel was found to be marred from handling during time of manufacture. Quietness, apparently is one of the company's prides, yet, I am plagued with some sort of grating, and churning noise, which I am sure should have been detected in "quality control".Offered menus, presets, and the like, are viewed as token graphics, and although ideal as a marketing ploy, they essentially hold as much validity as a doll house recipe book.I ... MoreI view this item as an expensive household gadget, particularly for a simple bachelor, who thought the extra features would future proof the kitchen, and expand upon culinary skills. I would like to see a soup cooking menu - what wasn't there one? I would like that annoying grating noise to have been detected at "quality control". Why is it me that is always slugged with the lemon? After cooked period, I would like the light to remain on, and remain on, till cool down is completed. Who decided to turn off the light? With all its faults, I intend to possess this device, and use as many of the features possibly so, for many years yet to come. I envisage at least 10 years, or more, and just hope Breville's inbuilt obsolescence, is reflective of the quality they profess the device to be.

Good, but not Great
22 July 2022

I have used the Fast-Combi to cook frozen sausages and frozen chicken breasts so far. It took a couple of tries, but once I figured out how much time to cook these for I was very happy with the outcome. I used the Airfry to cook chicken wings and french fries. I had to play with the amount of time. I can say the chicken wings turned out amazingly, but I was disappointed with the french fries. The only reason I am giving only 4 stars instead of 5 is there is no real 'recipe' book that gives cook times for the most basic foods for each function. The recipe book that Breville has online is not very helpful. Great Brand/Customer Service
3 November 2022

I am a brand loyalist. I love Breville for the aesthetics, quality, and variety of products. I plan on rounding out my kitchen appliances entirely with Breville eventually. That being said, there can be flaws. I originally purchased this microwave from Best Buy and after a few months the soft close feature quite working. I called Breville customer service and after answering questions, I was able to exchange it for a new one from the company. I was shocked. This showed that it is a company that stands by their products, which makes me love the stuff even more. I only use the microwave feature. It works. It’s a beautiful appliance to have on a countertop…I have not seen a better looking microwave.

Fantastically convenient to have so many options available literally at your fingertips. I no longer use my stove/oven at all! It would be a great product to use in granny flats, holiday homes and caravans where you might not want/be able to install a stove/oven. However, I've found that the 'Grill' function is a bit half-hearted. I've often had to grill things much longer than suggested. Whereas the 'Microwave' function is a bit over-enthusiastic. Even cooking for just a minute and a half leaves the dish too hot to handle with bare hands. Unfortunately, the design of the door leaves a bit to be desired as well it only opens to 90 which sometimes doesn't allow for adequate room to remove the dish with too hands. The door clips are also quite sharp, I've scratched ... MoreFantastically convenient to have so many options available literally at your fingertips. I no longer use my stove/oven at all! Recreating Nanna’s House and her Breville Oven…Feeling Complete
12 January 2023

At my grandparents’ house they had the Breville oven on their kitchen bench. I loved that oven and it was such an incredible part of cooking. My Nanna loved it too. Years later I bought their house from my father who inherited it when they passed away. I immediately bought the modern version of it as the Smart Oven Air Fryer which looks so similar to that old model and put it in the same spot as that older Breville…and downstairs where our kids now hang out we recently got the Breville Combi Wave 3 in 1. They can get the same great memories. Food, Breville, House. It was an automatic choice. It now feels complete.

The joy of cooking in the Breville 3 in 1
11 January 2023

I love this thing. Since buying last year I’ve cooked so many wonderful dishes using various cook modes and from the built in food menu. A whole chook or shoulder of lamb, easy as. Frozen nuggets or fish, combi mode for pies, they all turned out deliciously hot inside with crispy outsides. Simply using the dials to adjust the power and time is so fast, easy and effective. The designers have left nothing out of this great 3 in one microwave. Soft close door, stainless steel inside and out, even the quiet mode for a midnight snack. I love this 3 in 1, and cant wait to try something new tonight.
