We bought this in the last month to match the Kettle we also bought. It just doesn't toast!!Using sourdough grain bread. Set the bread type to grain, set the toasting function to maximum - 6, we end up with hot bread with the faintest to no colour on it. We have to then put it back in and let it run to the 3 mark just to get partial colour toast but then it’s like eating a crisp bread it’s so dried out. Doesn’t matter how thick or thin it is.We thought this toaster could replace our old toaster that has the occasional off day but it still toasts vastly better. Glad we didn’t throw it out because it will be coming out of the cupboard. Very, very disappointed in Breville.

Purchased this toaster to replace a 25 year old Kitchen Aid toaster. While there was nothing wrong with our original toaster, we went with the Breville Toast Select mainly for aesthetics. The Toast Select seems to perform like any other toaster. At this point, I cannot discern any advantage in performance compared to our old toaster. The only difference we have experienced is that it will launch a single piece of toast onto the counter, which is a bit embarrassing from a $200 toaster.

My husband and myself have been looking for a bread toaster for some time. When we saw the Breville toaster, although it was dearer than the others, we liked the colors, the shape, and the quality that was obvious to see. Of course we bought it and when we took out the box we could but not notice how heavy it was, this gave us the confidence about the quality inbuilt into the toaster. We like the different features included, like the lever to choose the type of bread, the light to show the progress of toasting and when is ready. The toaster makes the bread crisps and very enjoyable to eat. Yes we know we made the right choice, and we are looking forward to enjoying it for a long time to come.

I purchased this toaster on the 22/04/23 and tried to return it to Palmerston North Noel Leeming on the 11/05/23.I wanted to return it as the stainless steel between the top toast slots had become very tarnished. Not a very good look for a new appliance.I was informed by a staff member that as there was no fault with the toaster Breville would charge me when it was returned.I was told to take it home and clean it with a good stainless steel cleaner and if they were too expensive for me I could use toothpaste!!NEWS FLASH: For that staff member. Neither the expensive stainless steel cleaner or the toothpaste worked!See the attached before and after photos.
It has been 3 weeks ago that I replaced this one with Breville's smart toaster with 4 slice, which was bought in September 2008. This one has not disappointed me so far. In fact, it is even toasts all kinds of breads, english muffins and bagels better than my old one.I do not understand why some reviewers were not liking this one .There is nothing in this one which is bad. I even tried lightest English muffins and they stayed in the slot without flying on to the floor..It is a bit pricey but all toasters are not made same way. You get what you pay for.You can't compare $20 toaster to this one or even toasters made by WOLF Gourmet.I would definately recommend this .Plus it looks beautiful on my countertop.
Bought this to go with the Art series kettle. Visually, another stunning piece, so huge congratulations to the artist Lucy. I’m just sorry I can’t see all 4 sides at once! Functionality wise, it’s good to not have to remember what toasting level to use for different types of bread by just selecting your favourite toasting level & then adjusting the bread type accordingly. It’s also helps to see what stage the toasting is at with the lighting display countdown. Negative - High lift lever doesn’t quite lift the round types like bagels & English muffins high enough to grab easily.

I bought my toaster 4 months ago, in blue. I like the light telling me how much longer until done, and the wide space for large slices. Nothing else. It toasts on top, not the bottom, and more on one side. For English muffins, the back somehow toasts to, so it becomes hard, not nicely cooked on one side. I would never buy this product again. My last toaster from Walmart worked perfect for over 20 years, and is literally a better toaster.

Someone should have suspected that a sudden loss of cooking on one side could have more than one explanation, particularly given the crumpet setting.Breville should make this feature a selling point which would also help customers avoid making the same mistake. I wonder how many people are aware of this feature and how useful it can be, not only for crumpets but also toasting glazed buns, amongst other possibilities.So thank you again for offering to replace our toaster but if you have the same complaint again, it might be an idea to ask what settings your customer is using….So, would I recommend this toaster – YES most certainly, looks good and works very well – and actually does more than expected
This is seriously what you call "Toast to perfection". We have not owned a toaster in 3 years believe it or not :) But so glad I had come across this model while looking for one. With its quick lift and look feature allows you to play around with timings and settings to understand how things work, after that its "set and forget" until the perfect toast to your liking is ready. Toaster has an elegant look, easy clean options and wide slots allowing different types to be toasted all in the one. Its just great! cant fault it! and even the simple hook feature on the power cord is a great little thing to have and makes it easy to remove of the plug. really cool! Really happy with the purchase! Highly recommend!
