My husband and I purchased the oven air fryer as a joint Christmas present to each other. I wanted a smaller oven to sit on the counter top to bake and roast food. I bought the second from the top model because I didn’t need all its features. We took the air fryer oven with us on a Thanksgiving weekend RV trip. We prepared a scaled down Thanksgiving meal with a turkey breast and some of the usual side dishes.What would normally take 1 1/2 hours in a standard oven only took an hour in the Breville air fryer oven on the roast setting. The turkey breast cooked perfectly with some crispy skin and juicy tender meat.Using the air fryer oven for the turkey breast freed up the RV oven and stove top for all the side dishes. Everything was timed perfectly and completed at the same time, ready to eat.We have since used the air fryer oven at home to prepare a freshly made pizza. I bought this highly rated Smart oven on Nov 23, 2022, the day before Thanksgiving. I tried a couple of programs. The biggest concerns is the start bottom is not responsive. There several times, when I had everything ready in the owen, I selected the desired program, set the temperature and time, pressed the “Start” bottom, the oven didn’t turn on. I had to choose other cooking device or switch to other program. I am going to call the tech support to see whether I have to exchange or return. Another minor point, I got finger cuts when I clean the plate before use on the first day. Be sure to wear protective gloves when you wipe clean the accessory plate with sharp cutting edges. A disappointing cheap accessory for this high end smart oven. Thank you for your attention.

I spoke to the salesperson and told him I didn't want the Pro size because it was too big but wanted to know if I got the smaller size whether I can fit a drip pan underneath the air fryer basket to catch any oil or crumbs that came off the food during air frying. Fast forward two weeks and finally decided to try the air fryer to cook crab cakes and realized that there is absolutely no room to fit a drip pan underneath the air fryer basket (in other words, the salesperson completely lied to me). Worse is you can't use the basket for items "that drip while cooking" (see photo of the air basket fryer) but even french fries might drip a little while being reheated. Needless to say, it was a complete waste of money to 'upgrade' my Breville oven because the air fryer feature is so limiting.

Yes, you'll have a chemical smell due to off gassing (the release of harmful chemicals from new products), but that's not abnormal for a lot of household items (new mattresses, rugs, clothing, furniture, electronics, etc.). It's why the user manual says to run it empty the first time.The machine is relatively quiet when in use (especially compared to my last one) and I've not had any type of noise when it's plugged in and not in use. The heat output isn't as much as my other machine either. Most of the machine is relatively easy to wipe out, but the housing/covering for the heating element on top is extremely hard to get at. What I think are heat tints formed after the first use and trying to clean it was a major pain in the butt. Overall though, it works really well and it looks great on my counter.

When we were at Myer, we asked if we could check if that new oven did not have the pitch, but they said no, we had to buy it first. And that is what we did, we bought a second Smart Oven and as soon as we got home, we turn it on and the high pitch and high frequency sound was there. Then we knew that that is a problem that the Smart Ovens have.In conclusion, we are still happy with the oven and its performance. So we decided to return the new oven to Myer and keep the one from Amazon. However, is quite annoying the high frequency sound (even for our doggies). Every time that we use it, we have to turn it on and off as soon as it has finished.I hope you read my review and check this failure. I received this as a gift for my bday but only got around to setting is up recently. I got the sea salt (white) color and it looks amazing on my white countertops. But when plug it in, and when it is done with a cycle, the alert beep is SO LOUD and it is at a frequency that at this volume actually hurts my ears. And I can't find anywhere that you can turn down the volume, apparenlty that is only a feature in the Pro model which is $50 more, and would have been worth it had I known, although the pro does not come in any color but steel. Come on Breville! It is a small change to let people adjust the volume on the beeper and from my internet searches this seems to be an ongoing complaint!
