Absolutely elevated our waffle game. I’ve wanted one of these for years but always put off the purchase. The waffles are delicious and so easy to remove. No spillage on the bench as the little well catches excess if you overfill. Halved one of the recipes in the book and got 4 perfect waffles that cooked very quickly. Was very easy to clean. There is a safety latch you can choose to use if you have little hands in the kitchen. No complaints. If you’ve wanted a Belgian Waffle Maker this is the one for you!

When I was looking to replace my hand me down waffle maker I wanted one that was easy to clean and was avoiding the big square one because of that. I eyed this one at the store and decided to get it. The designs looks like it might be head but it actually very light. It sits well on the counter top and makes it easy to pour the waffle mix in. This does not make them as thick as my cheap one so I assume less mix and make sure to scoop out the over flower waffle mix around the trim and put it back in the mix. I don’t like very crispy waffles so putting it at level 4 works very well for me when making banana waffles. Once thing to note that the crispinesses of waffles also depends on the mix. Even with my other waffle maker my nana recipe never came out crispy. Even with my other waffle maker my nana recipe never came out crispy. When trying a more traditional waffle recipe I have been able to get more of a crisp. Also if you want them thicker I don’t always use the hook lock on the breville waffle maker. I like this becuase it gives you a more full waffle which I am a fan off and you might not get crips everywhere. The heating at 8 does turn the waffle brown and almost burnt. As far as cleaning so far the waffle are easy to scoop out with a fork and not leave a fishy mess. I also use coconut oil to help them slip out. So far this is working out well for us. It is a larger foot print for waffle makers this size but I feel it’s solid and pretty easy to control. Like anything with control level you still have to gage what heat seating works for you. Waffle at level four took about two minutes but were still slightly brown and fluffy with a small amount of crisp. At level 8 was very brown and not tasty to me. Again this varies on the recipe and ingredients in your mix and mine typical consist of fruits, or whole wheat etc. I hope this helps as I am still very happy with this waffle maker.

I’ve had this waffle maker for over three years and all of a sudden the coating starts to peel. I wipe my unit off with hot soapy water and store it back in the box. I take great care of my appliances. Sad thing is that this is manufacture defect. Breville says I’m out of warranty and they won’t replace the unit, but I can purchase another one. Why on earth would I want to spend another decent amount of money for a high end product that only last only four years. I have plenty of Breville small appliances, however I’m not happy with this outcome.

I decided to splurge on a waffle maker and this one is great. Easy to use and so got consistent results first time. I like to make a stack of them and put them in the freezer - make them on setting 3 and then reheat in the toaster to prevent over-cooking. Yum! Couple of suggestions - start out by cooking waffles at setting 4. That seems to give the perfect balance of fluffy and crispy. Make your batter a little on the thick side and use measuring scoop for consistent results. Also, apply a light spritz or cooking oil between each waffle (particularly to the center of the griddle irons), to ensure that your waffles separate easily from the cooking surface. There seem to be a lot of complaints out there about the non-stick surface of waffle makers so just bear in mind ... MoreI decided to splurge on a waffle maker and this one is great. There seem to be a lot of complaints out there about the non-stick surface of waffle makers so just bear in mind that nothing is ever 100% nonstick! If you want to halve the oil in your batter, substitute in 1 well-mashed bananas. Very tasty and it keeps your waffles from tasting dry (same tip applies to cakes FYI). I also want to mention the fast service and convenient shipping offered by Founders - I’ll definitely be buying from this company in the future.
I picked this up when we wanted to start making waffles and wish I had purchased more than one!Product is study and well built. Have used it for years with no issues. We do use oil on ours as it makes the waffles much easier to get out.Love the cooking control - we usually set ours at either a 4 or 5 and the waffles come out perfect every time!Easy to clean, even when using oil.The spillover feature is AMAZING. No more messy waffle making since it catches any overfill. We've found 1/8 - 1/4 c in each square, depending on batter, is perfect for great waffles with no spillage.
We purchased this waffle maker about 3 years ago after our 15+ year-old waffle maker started losing its nonstick coating--this one was purchased in a W-S store on impulse and wasn't $150--more like $50. The Breville maker we purchased recently almost immediately began to stick, creating quite the mess when it came time to scrape (yes, scrape) the stuck waffle out of all the crevices. We started leaving notes on the maker to remind ourselves to spray the surfaces with cooking spray before using. Needless to say we will not be buying another Breville. On a positive note, the overflow feature is nice.
My husband and I stopped making waffles years ago because we got tired of all the mess of the drips down the sides. Recently I wanted to start making waffles again and thought I wanted a top-fill waffle maker, but my husband did some research and found the Breville No Mess Waffle maker online and we decided to try it instead. It is the best decision we have made in a long time. We had read the reviews before buying, and some people claimed that they could not get their waffles crispy enough - I have no idea what they are talking about. We like ours at level 5 (out of 7 to choose from), and they are nice and crispy. The tops do seem to get a little more crispy than the bottoms, but if you put it to 6 or 7, the bottoms are plenty crispy too. We used the Classic Waffles recipe that came with it and they tasted fabulous ! We do put a little more of the batter into the waffle maker than the recipe calls for just to make sure it goes all the way to the edges. We do not want any gaps - want complete waffles. The moat works beautifully, catching all the overflow. It is also warm enough that the overflow cooks too so it really is easy to clean - no batter left on it. It all lifts out when you remove the waffle. If you don't like the 'skirt' on your waffles created by the bit that fell into the moat, you can simply cut it away and you will have perfect waffles. I highly recommend this product.
We've had this in our winter home for two years now. Starting with the first batch through I don't know how many today, the waffles always stick. I see from the reviews this is a common issue. Also not terribly pleased with the temperature control. I have to turn the temp down further on every new pour as the temperature seems to keep going up. We've made thousands of waffles on our ancient West Bend at home The temperature is constant and the waffles don't stick.I do like the drip rail, the cord storage and tip up storage mode. but the basics are not there.
I really wanted to love this waffle iron! I am a dietitian and food blogger and was hoping that this would be 'the waffle maker' to recommend. Unfortunately, the waffles are impossible to get out. It takes me a good 10 minutes to poke and prod small pieces out and then it's just a big mess. I kept thinking I was doing something wrong and by the time I gave up, it was past the 90 days from when I purchased it from the store. I'm so bummed!
Our no-mess waffle maker has already paid for itself! The kids love these home made waffles more than the store bought waffles that have cost us a small fortune and they have way less sugar. The classic recipe is just as quick and easy to make as pancakes and there are plenty of leftovers to freeze and reheat in the toaster for a quick brekky on busy mornings. The waffle maker is fool proof to use and there really is no mess. We wish we had discovered this gem months ago when our children first discovered waffles! We are very happy with our purchase and highly recommend it to others.
