Turns out the unit is so convenient we are using it most days for lunch loasties. Looks OK but more importantly stores vertically which minimises space requirements. Cooks quickly and evenly, an led lights to tell when sandwich is ready. Very easy to clean with a quick wipe. Anti stick coating works well and seems solid. A good buy.

Our family has had a Breville jaffle-maker for 22 years - this is our second, but not because the first one broke. It's been packed away in the box of its replacement because it's no longer as quick to heat up, and doesn't retain heat well. But it's still in the box because if this new one breaks ("they don't make them like they used to"), we still have it as a backup! Our 3 children grew up with this, and when my daughter moved over to Melbourne for university, we bought her one for her apartment. Easy to use, non-stick coating is durable (use butter on the outside of jaffles to add non-stickiness), easy to clean, compact to store. What's not to like!

Do not buy this rubbish. I've had 3 of them and the bread stuck to each of them only after a handful of uses. Breville kindly gave me a replacement and that did the same thing. The third one was unusable. Always on the left hand side on the upper part. The cheap plastic clip on the handle also broke on one of them.Do yourself a favour and buy the Original 74. It has a different non-stick coating and a much more solid unit and the bread does not stick at all. Well worth the extra money.

I grew up with these and from memory they were the best. So I bought it when I had kids and the first one seemed ok, but started sticking. I replace it with a new one 18 months ago and this one started sticking within 3 goes. I'm disappointed especially given the non stick coating does not work especially on the cutting edges. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend the product anymore
This product is supposed to have a non-stick coating. It is by far the worst case of missrepresentation. After successfully making the first couple of sandwiches it is now sticking everywhere. The only way to get them off is to scrape them out with a knife, which then damages the coating further exacerbating the problem

First few jaffles cooked ok but we were surprised to see that the bread stuck on the diagonal cutting edge, despite pre-heating the toaster as required and using butter on the bread. I was so happy to find a compact machine. I was disappointed however, with the plastic locking clip cracking after only a couple of months.Upon purchase I thought it odd to use plastic rather than metal, but thought Breville surely would've tested this.Today I read many reviews and the plastic locking clip rates a lot of mentions.Time for Breville to think about changing this. Lucky for me I had the receipt and got a refund at the place of purchase The shop did ask if I wanted a replacement, but I said No as it would probably happen again.For $60 I expect a more durable product.
The only Breville maker Ill use ! Bread always comes out crispy and closes well even if I use my smaller gluten free bread. Quality is great, had my old original breville maker for years before the Teflon finally wore out. Tried the cheaper brands and just threw them straight in the bin. Nothing beats a breville out this machine.
From the first jaffle I have hated this. Impossible to find bread the right size. The middle cut thing has always stuck and when you open it when it says ready, it all falls out from inside. then I have to use a fork to get them out. Which makes the coating worst. The reviews that say easy to clean must be fake because it's not easy to clean.
Easy to use: supermarket sliced bread does not leak when cooking- the size is correct. It is therefore easy to wipe clean. stores neatly on its side. I had to replace my 20 year old one as the cord was dangerous. it is simple and does not take up too much space. Can cook just one sandwich with perfect result.
