I have only one minor criticism of what is an otherwise safe ,efficient and stylish kitchen appliance and that is the level indicator. I find I have to lift the kettle up very close to discern the water level as the colour used for the indicator does not stand out. Having said that I like everything else about it, full handle and quick to boil,I would purchase again.And of course,ordered it Saturday night and it arrived Monday morning ( during lockdown!) in time for breakfast. Usual excellent service from Appliances Online.

Searched everywhere for a good kettle. So many to choose from. No we don't need to see the water boiling away or enter it into a magazine competition. All we want is it to look reasonable, be functional and heat water! Found this one and it does the job very well. Well designed overall no flimsy on/off switch, comfortable handle and pours well.

Great kettle. Doesn’t show fingerprints easily as it’s brushed stainless steel. Looks lovely and works well. If really pressed to find any fault it would be that I think perhaps the auto shut off once it has boiled should turn off the kettle a second or so quicker. Not a fault really and I’d still definitely recommend this kettle

I had a kettle looking the same, which was good. Bottoms insite kettles seem to rust I have discovered when the taste of two different kettles started being not very nice. This kettle is easy to fill and use, as long as you do not put it under a cupboard. This kettle boils a little longer, which I like as well. So far so good.
We bought this kettle recently and overall we are very disappointed. It is extremely difficult to see the water level of the kettle. Day or night you cannot see the water level. FullOr empty it makes no difference. I even placed a lamp behind the kettle and still was hopeless. Okay kettle in every other way but we have since been forced to buy another brand. Very frustrating as it is most important to be able to easily see the water level .
Love my new kettle it is quiet & stylish. It boils quickly with the new features. Its compact on my bench & has a flip lid for one handed operation. I just wish it was a little lighter, guess I will need to strengthen my wrist more. Something to consider when buying hence only 4 stars.
After a few years of use, our first Soft Top Clear wouldn't switch off immediately when the water was obviously boiling. We liked the model, so we eventually bought a second in March 2019. Within a year, the same thing was happening. The kettle continues to strongly boil for 5-10 seconds after clearly boiling. Just posting this because - whilst we like the kettle - I'm sure it shouldn't do this. And because Breville doesn't have a feedback option on their website.
Thoughtfull features for us oldies. Clear water window in a place you can see. (Not under the handle. Der) Spout that pours not dribbles. Easy lid opening for filling, press button and it purrs open. Smart stainless steel finish that will grace any kitchen. Quality that you can afford. This is our second Breville Soft Top. Had our previous one for years. Only got rid of it because we had a bad storm and rain poured in through the ceiling into the kettle and we didn't fancy using it after that, so replaced with same one.
Have bought this kettle for years. Recently bought 2 but the quality is not the same. Very loud while boiling. Open close button keeps getting stuck. Won't be buying again.
This kettle has been a disappointment for 2 reasons. I was surprised that it doesnt illuminate whilst heating, but most importantly we have been alarmed by the noise it makes. I have never owned such a loud kettle - 76dB!
