Bridgestone Battlax-t31 70W TL Road Rear Tire Silver 160 / 60 / R18

Very balanced for daily use and in curves. Not too pointed profile that makes the bike react smoothly and without stress. In the rain, you have to be a little more cautious than with the Michelin Road 5 (so far the best I've tried in the rain) - they grip less and depend more on the temperature. Otherwise, very good value for money if you're not looking for the top of the line.

Bang for the buck

These are a definite improvement over the last generation of sport touring tires in the battlax line. Brand new took them to a track, while they are not really meant to be thrashed around they held up surprisingly well, especially since I didn’t have tire warmers on them. My front end didn’t wash out in the rain, not breaks lock up. I can’t really speak about treadlife since they went to the track so I am sure I have shortened it significantly. But if your in the market for a good tire that won’t break the bank this is it, want longer life they make a GT version, want more grip? The hypersport battlax has it.-m-2015 YAMAHA FZ-07--

Bridgestone Battlax T31-GT on BMW R1150R

I jujst mounted this tire on the rear and have only put a hundred miles on it in dry conditions, so I can't say anything about wet grip or treadwear yet. But I've had two precursors to this tire, the BT-023, on the rear before this this one and got ~8000 miles on the one I used in Florida, and almost 13,000 miles on the one I just replaced which was used mostly in Mississippi, which leads me to believe that treadwear is very dependent on ambient temperature and road surface (e.g. FL roads are often concrete aggregate while MS roads are more asphalt and chip seal). We'll have to wait to see how long this T31 lasts. I like the quick turn in, but that may be just be due to the rounder profile of the new tire vs. the squared off profile of the old one. Good value sport touring tires

I'm an extremely experienced, confident and aggressive rider. Easily a 1% rider. Much trackday experience. Knee down cornering is normal. I accelerate strongly right through corners at full lean. These tires are working for me. They're not a full sport Q3+ sticky tire to be sure. But they also don't wear out every 1800 miles either. I'm always looking for good price/performance value! One thing to note with these is the very stuff sidewalls. The forks had to be raised in the triple clamps (6mm) to get the bike to turn the way I'm used to with softer sidewalk tires such as Angel GT, M7RR too. I was happy with the BT023s too. Getting about 5K miles from 023 rears. I was getting 6500 miles from Angel GT rears. Also happy with those but Pirelli charges a lot! I'm overall happy. Quick warm up. Good traction in the dry. Also in the wet but I've ridden them much less in rain. In monsoon they were confidence inspiring. I'm running 33-34psi front and 36psi rear. No chicken strips on these. Guys on Sport Q3+ etc tires are following me and not keeping up. Fwiw. These can be made to slide if you're aggressive enough. You'd have to be getting pretty stupid frankly to do so. And I would know! But they're predictable when they slip. They even handle tar strips pretty well. In the rain I can get some slip on the tar strips, but it's not omg I'm crashing stuff. You can feel the tires working and searching for grip. I'll keep using these.

I like this tire

So far so good. I've had this tire for about 1K miles with no complaints. Good grip, excellent cornering. I can't comment on traction on wet pavement as it doesn't rain much in Southern California. Only suggestion for FJR owners is that the recommended pressure by the manufacturer of 36PSI Front is too low for a heavy bike like the FJR. My previous tire, Battlax T31 cupped with only 4K miles with plenty of tread left. From day one I kept the recommended pressure of 36PSI. This time I'm going with 40PSI F & 42 R. As far as tread life i think it's too soon to rate but overall seems like it will last. Well my previous tire was a Battlax T31 Non GT, at 4K miles my guess is that it had another 4K Miles of life left.

Pro'ly more than you needed to know.

My 2020 FJR came stock with the Battalax T23's and they stuck to the road in rain. Bridgestone developed the T32's for improved water removal. The T32 GT's were designed for the bigger sport touring bikes like the FJR according to an engineer that I spoke with at Bridgestone. I bought this GT front tire after the regular T32 front tire showed signs of cupping after only 2k miles. The regular T32 rear tire has demonstrated great wear so far with about 2500 miles on it, but will upgrade to the GT in the next couple months. I expect to get 6-8k miles or more out of the GT's compared to the 7k miles that I got out of the T23's. Hope this helps! Safe travels!

Stiff sidewalls saved my butt!!!

I bought this to replace a T30 Battleax. On that tire, I was doing about 75MPH on the PA turnpike, when I heard a loud POP. I thought I just hit a rock, and the pop was the the rock shooting out from under the tire. I instinctively starting slowing down, feeling the rear end slightly fishtailing. When I pulled off to the shoulder, the tire was flat. The beads were broken, not a chance of riding any further.The sidewalls of that tire, being so stiff, is the reason I remained upright, and continued to a safe stop. The rim never touched the ground, it continued rolling on the stiff rubber sidewalls.When I finally got the tire off the rim (the next day) I found a 2” long x 1/2” wide x 1/4” thick piece of steel Inside the tire, and of course the gash in the tire ... MoreI bought this to replace a T30 Battleax. Tire Replacement

The T32GT front tire was a replacement from a defective that was previously sent. It came very promptly. I give these tires a 4 Star because riding in the mountains, there aren't any tires that will give me great mileage. These tires do work well on my ST1300.

The T31...Wow!What a beautiful tire for a beautiful bike (Z900)!She handles beautifully at 100-110 mph cruising through the Ozarks. Felt like this tire was made for this bike! She really compliments all the qualities of the Z900!The Z900 wasn't meant to be ridden with your knees dragging around every corner, there's nothing to say that she couldn't, nor slamming on the brakes to set up for the next corner. She's meant to be ridden from the 5-7000 rpm range with the occasional 9000 rpm burst when needed, cruising from 80-110 mph, through one corner then accelerating to the next with the occasional downshifting and engine braking doing most of the slowing and then all over again. high quality tire for cheap

Have a 15 BMW r1200r -- with 12K miles. This is my third set on this bike, but I've had dozens of sets of tires over the years. On this one, I enjoyed the PR4's, but thought the Metz Roadtec 01's I tried were really horrible - scalloped fast and never delivered confidence to me. Was going to go back to Michelins, but saw these fully $120 cheaper for a set and figured I'd try 'em. I've only got 200 miles on them, but i loved them the instant I put them on. The R bike has a tendency to 'flop' into a turn at low speed, and this tire stops that, yet it is the most neutral turn in of any tire I can remember. I was instantly at the edges of these tires without any drama, great feel and confidence.
