Bought the large spinner a couple of years ago which has survived multiple long haul trips. I needed the medium size as that gets the most use as a frequent flyer. Just used it for a long haul trip with 7 flights and itās still in perfect shape as expected. Great quality plus craftsmanship and Iām quite comfortable knowing these are backed with the lifetime guarantee. Iāll be back for the packing cubes!

It arrived yesterday and the latch on the front compartment for my laptop does not close.Iām unfortunately leaving for a Europe trip tomorrow morning and purchased this bag specifically for the trip.I inquired yesterday wondering if I could stop by somewhere to have it checked before I left. Narges and Linda had told me that I need to send a video of the broken bag and send it to the repair centre before it could be replaced.So, currently, I'm on my way to a luggage shop in London to purchase a new carry on with this Ā£499 Briggs and Riley hole in my pocket.Interested to see how this gets sorted when I return in a month. Hoping they don't try and charge me to return it.

I have a couple of other more expensive bags but the size of this B&R is more manageable and I like the spinner wheels. I was also interested in a bag that does not weigh much when empty. My tumi is much heavier.However, while I really like the size, the bag feels very flimsy to me. The zipper is not that easy to use because the two halves of the bag collapse on each other. The wheels are smooth, but the handle has far too much play in it when extended. When I push the bag, the handle will move from side to side 2-3 inches. For the money, this should be a far better made bag. Pros - looks great, zips, wheels and handle are well made and feel high quality. Nice features and premium materials inside.Improvements - The front pocket would benefit a second locking point, it feels flimsy with only the single catch at the top. Feels like it could be forced open from the side. So some additional security in this respect would add some comfort but otherwise very nice case. Personal opinion, I think the stitching through the plastic around the edges looks a bit low-end.
Expensive yes but the build quality is excellent . The design is also spot on. This case glides, it is well balanced and spins so easily. I have also bought a briefcase and when fully loaded there is no topping or jarring. I was amazed at how light it is versus now much it holds. It looks good and it is robustItās making business and leisure journeys so much easier and keeping my aches and mains frongragging and lifting luggage down!

This is a very great looking carry-on case that easily fits in the overhead bin of major airlines. This bag is for business trips that are no more than three days and must be packed very lean. Not recommended for vacations or trips that last more than a weekend. I was able to fit three days worth of clothes, a pair of sandals, and one pair of workout clothes and shoes, and a hygiene bag for business travel. It was at capacity and there wasn't enough room to place my laptop over the main compartment due to the bulge from the main compartment. Still, the carry-on still looked balanced on the outside. Not a big issue for me since I always keep my laptop in a separate carry-on bag. The combo lock instructions that it came with are very easy to set and I never had a lock issue during any of my trips.
Purchased this case (large hardside spinner) because it is lighter than other brands of similar size but shell seems very thin. time will tell if it stands up to airline handling. If it does survive first year will upgrade to five star (Not used yet). like the 70/30 split rather than 50/50. 80/20 may have been better still. The jacket hanger seems a poor idea as the jacket will never be hanging while the case is being wheeled only if being carried by the side handle

A domestic soft side bag simply has more room inside. The Torq looks smaller inside, and it IS smaller. Some comparison points:1. The finish on the Torq is beautiful, and while I have no doubt it is prone to scuffing, my guess is that for a carry-on, most of that will be on the user, not baggage handlers.2. B&R have built their external handle channel smartly into the shell of the Torq, and it works well, while still preserving the "no channels inside your packing area" approach. The Baseline of course has fully externalized handle channels.3. Both cases have robust wheels, though the Torq seems slightly lower profile. Both glide easily over smooth surfaces; neither requires much effort over carpet. The Baseline gives up very little interior space to the wheels, the Torq more so.4. With my TravelPro rollaboard, I was able to slip my briefcase handle over the bag handle. I have never been able to do that with any B&R bag, and these two are no different. The B&R handles are more robust, chunkier, and there is a price to pay for that.5. I find the garment āsuiterā in the Torq ineffective. The integrated fold-up garment bag in the Baseline is a real winner. I can take the garment bag out of my TravelPro and fit it inside the Torq, but I don't think I should have to do that. My big fear is that the wrinkling in the Torq will be more severe, due to the smaller width available for suits. Here is the solution that seems to make sense: ditch the garment bag. A garment bag in a rollaboard borders on superfluous. I have a separate garment bag that I use in the soft-sided luggage I have in my car for structure. But the rollaboard already has the structure, and realistically, garment bags don't actually protect your suits/dresses from wrinkles very much. Another thing I found in test-packing: skip double-breasted suits. They have more fabric and take up more space.Granted, this solution may not work for everyone, but in order to use this bag to carry suits, you're going to have to find a way to make some extra space. Getting rid of the garment bag altogether works for me, and two single-breasted suits can be carefully folded into place in the upper compartment. BTW, I am 6'2", with size 12 dress shoes. That stuff takes up room. [2021 Update: I have become a convert of the ābundlingā method of packing clothing advocated by OneBag.com and others. It makes a big difference in reducing wrinkles.]6. Locking zippers up top are an excellent feature. Nothing like them on the Baseline.7. The outside pocket on the Torq is very clever. I don't think it is flimsy, so much as it is lightweight & flexible. It can indeed hold, and is padded for, a laptop/iPad, and so long as your toiletries are packed appropriately, they will fit there, too. Coincidentally, the toiletry bag from my TravelPro fits well, while the latest I bought from Lewis & Clark is a bit chunky. However, the travel case for my Phillips Sonicare toothbrush fits easily at the bottom of the exterior pocket.8. The luggage tag holder on the Baseline seems better implemented. I like the pull-out-snap-back feature on the Baseline. I wasn't supremely careful at packing, so I suspect I could do a bit better here, or at least make it less of a compression job. I may try some of my Eagle Creek organizer packs to see if they help or not. [2021 Update: No, ditch the excess organizer ācubes/sack.ā Theyāre just more weight.Anyway, I love this bag. It has been with me all over the world. I recommend it unreservedly for anyone who wants a hard shell and is willing to pay the weight penalty of one.
