Brita filters are an absolute godsend, especially where i live, where it is hardwater, causing problems of limescale. I drink beveridges and cordials regularly using Brita filters, the water tastes deliciously pure and natural. I've used Brita filter cartridges for over 11 years, and would never be without them.

I've tried using own brand/generic filters but always come back to original Brita because they are better than the alternatives. The water where I live tastes vile so I wouldn't drink it without filtering first and these filters are top notch leaving the water tasting untainted and fresh. There's also a significant reduction in the lime in my kettle and consequently I don't need to descale it as often.Brita filters might cost a bit more but they are definitely worth it and at the moment they're considerably cheaper from John Lewis/Waitrose than they are at the well known online site we all go to to find the lowest price!

About 18 months ago, I invested in a Brita "fridge door" water filter.This was probably the best investment I've made for a long time as it meant no more bottles of mineral water, thereby eliminating my hirthto puchase of countless 2 litre plastic bottles. The water tastes very good, especially true with the hard water that we have. Tea and Coffee taste so much better. I always buy my 6-pack of water filters twice a year from John Lewis although, during Lockdown, I bought 2 boxes of 6 filters as we were drinking a lot more water. I can thoroughly recommend both the filters and the John Lewis buying experience!

Maxtra+ filters by Brita have never let me down, and it's wonderful to be able to recycle them at Robert Dyas shops. It makes a huge difference to the tapwater I consume, especially in tea - the water here is hard enough to affect the flavour!One word of caution to those who are new to Brita products: The countdown timer built into their pitchers and kettles is not based on the amount of usage of the product, it simply counts down four weeks. So, if you don't use your filter much, it won't need replacing every four weeks; but if you use your filter a lot, you may want to replace it sooner than the timer recommends.
I like the fact that the superfine mesh retains coarse particles. It reduces not only limescale build up it also soften water; reduce metals like lead and copper and the micro carbon peals lock away chlorine... to give a pure and fresh taste. It was made in Germany.
If you bought the water filter then you need the cartridges. A six pack is probably the most cost effective. They seem to filter well and stop the kettle scaling up. I got the Brita for filter/expresso coffee making and again decent for that. Bonus points for the fact they can be recycled and it is easy to find places where you can drop them in.
I bought a filter jug when my under-sink water filter desperately needed changing. I knew this because my coffee machine needed descaling almost monthly! I noticed that the filter always needed changing one or two days before the month was up which seemed fair, seeing as the water quality was poor.Once I replaced the under-sink water filter guess what? I still needed to change my Maxtra filter several days before the month was up, which puzzled me because I know how good that under-sink filter is and can taste the difference in the drinking water when it is doing its job.Last month I decided to only use my filter jug daily but sparingly, but it still turned red several days before the month was up. The water filter refills seem to not do what they actually should! One bar short of what should be registered once the filter change takes place, so Im a tad bit disappointed. I am hoping the next change will be accurate, otherwise all refills will be needing replacing before they actually should be changed!
Good product but the filter wears of much faster then its advertised. We have to change it's filter every other week although nobody is at home on the week days. What if a large family uses it regularly through the week? Should they change their filter every week?I think the filter price should be much cheaper considering the frequency of their lasting time.
These i use in my one cup hot water dispenser which takes out the impurities from the water which also in turn prolongs the life of my deviceWater tastes much better as the water is hard in my area, each filter lasts a month but i normally use them for about 2 months then change to a new one just base it on how many uses the filter getsNow and i again i just rinse the filter under the cold water which helps it drain water through it a little quickerVery good product just wish they could be a bit cheaper but i got these at a competitive price on here, you can pay moreOverall good product that works well and makes cold & hot drinks taste much better
