The brita water bottle filters your water, you can fill it up anywhere. It helps me drink so much more water because it's fun and I know it's clean. The filters aren't expensive (neither is the bottle itself) and you only need to replace them like once every 3 months. My favorite part is when I travel. I believe it's carbon based and if you immediately drink from it it'll taste nasty because all of the carbon from the filter with come up. It's harmless, don't worry. Just tastes better like that. Disclaimer this water bottles DOES NOT clean water. It only makes it taste better. Don't add additives to this, you'll ruin the filter's integrity. Just use it as a plain water bottle.

Fantastic bottle... for a few months

This bottle started off great! Finally able to drink clean water on the go and even refill it while out! But lately the top part of the straw has been starting to look pretty bad.There's this off-putting blackness just inside the mouth of the straw that won't go away no matter how many washes and how much scrubbing I do, there's a tear in it about a quarter of the way down, and (this one is admittedly on me) I only just figured out how to separate the top straw piece from the top of the bottle and there was quite a bit of mold.Suffice to say this has put me off drinking from it because even after cleaning everything else, there's still the black spots right at the top. Currently looking at other water bottles since I can't seem to just replace the top straw for ... MoreThis bottle started off great! Good for filtering- bad for insulation

I’m a bit paranoid when it comes to germs and food/drink. So I appreciate this bottle for the filter, since I freak out if the water I’m drinking isn’t 100% clear and clean. I even figured out that you CAN put powder flavoring in here without the flavor getting filtered out! All that being said: if you like your water bottles to be insulated and keep stuff cold, do not buy this. It’s not insulated at all—seconds after putting ice and water in it, I can feel the outside get cold and start forming condensation. Pretty frustrating, since I planned to take this to school where I wouldn’t be able to replace the ice or use a fridge or anything. But fine for when I’m just in my house. So, if you want insulation? No. Don’t. If you don’t mind? Great. Good for germaphobes.

Mixed experiences

Me and my husband bought one each and our experiences were completely different. He loves it. It’s his new favorite bottle and he’s had many before, including insulated ones. He likes his water cold so mainly keeps it in the fridge and/or with ice but it doesn’t bother him at all, it’s really easy to use and clean and I’m pretty sure this is the only filtered water bottle out there. Me on the other hand, I’m not sure why but every time I used it I’d pass both air and water at first, and then just water. This ended up in a lot of air bubbles in my throat and it was a really painful experience to make it go away. I will never use this again. My New BFF

I absolutely LOVE this bottle. When my beloved HydroSpark died, I purchased the teal color and have had it for over a year now. So easy to take with me or keep near me at home. I don’t feel complete if I leave the house without my bottle; it’s now an extension of my body. It saves money and the planet since I no longer purchase plastic water bottle packs. I have dropped it a few times and to my amazement, it didn’t break (I don’t recommend dropping tho…painfully loud and sad). Its easy to clean and I haven’t noticed mold in the straw like other reviews state. I don’t really have any complaints with the product itself though I wish it came in some unique designs, or other fun colors. Maybe some cute water bottle accessories??

Needs a better way to know when change the filter

Since the launch of this bottle was I wasn’t sure about buying this bottle especially with the $30 price point not including the price for the filters which added another cost which was too high for me when you can buy any other bottle for $10 or less. My roommate had one and seemed to like the bottle. I’m in the process of moving and what sold me on finally getting this bottle was the amount of money I was spending on a 40 pack of single use waters from Walmart and having that as another thing to carry with me. I read the reviews which were mixed to say the least but found it worth it when it was on sale. My main issue besides the cost is not knowing if the filter is working or when to change it. Wouldn’t buy again or recommend to others.

I wish I had read the reviews first. They are true. It’s not user friendly. I actually drink less water when using it. It requires a lot of suction which isn’t bad but when you use it at your bedside table at night it is a pain. It needs to stay completely straight up to drink from, so tilting it is a no no and it leaks. It requires a bunch of suction to drink from, so if your nose is stuffed up, you pant for breath due to lack of oxygen because it took a whole minute to create enough suction for one sip. It also says it is insulated but my Walmart brand plastic shaker cup keeps ice longer than this bottle. My water is always warm. I’m not a fan. convenient but...

just got my new water bottle because I drink a lot of fresh spring water from my local spicket that is mountain run off and I often have to use a plastic (bpa) bottle from a previous water from the store. I'm going to need a bottle that I can drink laying down and I thought this was perfect. I love the IDEA of filling my bottle with cold tap water and having fresh, clean water HOWEVER when I drink my water, it gives me a stomach ache! no other reviews mention a stomach ache. I'm 8 months pregnant and have yet to get heartburn (shocking). the only time I DO get heartburn is when I drink from my Brita water bottle! not only is the taste funky but there's something wrong with the filter because why else would it upset my stomach and give me heartburn? I don't recommend.

I only test it out the product using water, so it's not like I'm worried about that. I'm not.
