Let me start with I have worn Brooks for a good 14 years. However 2 years back I stopped wearing them because they dug into the back of my ankle and caused blisters from metal pieces that poked out. I figured it was just a random issue. However, I wanted to find a more comfortable shoe to run a marathon in and I switched brands. After 2 years of using that brand I noticed they lost their comfort quickly. So I figured let me give Brooks another try. Well I am not a fan of how the shoe is fitting me again both ankles formed blisters and the soles are not a comfortable as I would have liked. That said I really like the look of the shoe and the feel of the fabric.

I have been wearing a pair of Ghost 2 for years. It was still going strong, but I figured that pair must be well past its recommended life by now and a new pair of shoes was in order. After a lot of conversation with Brooks representatives via the chat feature on the website, I bought 3 pairs of shoes to compare: Trace 2, Trace 3, and Ghost 15. Both pairs of Trace shoes were beautiful but didn't provide the fit and comfort I was hoping for (reviewed separately and will be returned). The Ghost 15 were comfortable, and I have kept them. They fit almost as well as the Ghost 2. The difference may well be simply that I am so accustomed to the older shoes that nothing would feel entirely right in comparison, but the Ghost 15 is very close and I think in time it will be a ... MoreI have been wearing a pair of Ghost 2 for years. I got the black, which is necessary for some of my activities, so I can't say they are beautiful in the sense that colored shoes are, but they are handsome, and I have received compliments on them. The shoes fit well, even with an orthotic inserted, and are comfortable all day. Importantly, they provide adequate room for my toes, which many shoes do not. I do exercise in them, indoors. Running isn't part of my life (I'm elderly, and running is a thing of the past), but walking certainly is, and these cause no pain. Sometimes when my feet swell, the shoe laces become too tight and bruise the tops of my feet, but that is inevitable in laced shoes that don't stretch. Overall I'm pleased with the Ghost 15.

Being in a profession that has me on my feet all day, these really do provide great comfort and cushioning for long hours on your feet.Last to note is the color scheme. While these are relatively neutral compared to some of the other Brooks patterns, I love the subtle scheme with a pop of pink and blue coloring. This makes the shoe easy to transition from both a professional environment to after work runs with ease.

I have never tried a pair of Brooks before and these Ghost 16 have not failed to impress. From the moment I put them on they seemed to fit perfectly with my foot shape. The toe box is spacious so my toes don't feel squished - which is especially important while running! The only noticeable thing I would change, is the heel to toe drop seems a bit more drastic than some of my other shoes. Brooks are my go-to shoe for the gym, walking, running and my life outside of work. I love that they are supportive, come in a variety of styles, shapes and colors to fit various athletic needs, feet, gaits and styles. The Brooks Ghost 16 are lightweight, come in fun colors, and add a spring to my step. I feel lighter when I walk and run and as a woman with large feet, I love that I can get more traditionally feminine and fun colors in larger sizes.I wear a men's 10.5 or women's 11.5W in most shoes or a men's 10.5 or women's 12 in Brooks. I always focus on how big a pair of shoes makes my already large feet look. I was pleasantly surprised that despite being in a light color, my feet don't look huge in these shoes. Plus there is some pink and purple, colors I rarely get the chance to wear in a sneaker.I have a bunion on my left foot which requires I wear supportive, quality shoes with arch support and a wider toe box. My podiatrist originally recommended Brooks. After visiting a shoe store that helps you select a shoe based on how you walk and your feedback on fit, I ended up in the Brooks Dyad 10 and have been wearing Brooks ever since. The Ghost 16 has a similar fit on me to the Dyad but is more flexible, light and springy. The toe box has ample space for my toes to feel comfortable. The shoe base is the same width but the actual toe box is a few millimeters narrower due to the sole shape. The shoe uppers are soft and breathable (maybe not ideal for winter's cold), the backs are firm yet comfortable.I workout 4 days per week lifting weights followed by a walk and/or run. Due to the season and having young kids, I'm constrained to the treadmill for now. My gait feels easier and my landing feels softer in the Ghost 16. The sound of my feet hitting the treadmill is also much softer which I appreciate in the gym. Both the Ghost and Dyad are neutral support. There is some arch support but it is only right at the inner edge. I need firm arch support to extend further in towards the middle of my foot so I did try adding my non-prescription orthotic inserts to improve my comfort and maintain the support recommended by my podiatrist (she recommends I have an extra insole in any sneaker but stressed that I need to start with a quality sneaker base). They fit will in the shoe well without detracting from the cushioning of the soles. These will be added to my Brooks gym and weekend rotation.
After trying the Brooks Ghost 16 shoes for a bit, there are a lot of things I have come to appreciate about these shoes, but in the end I have just not fallen in love with them. I appreciate that they are lightweight, have a wide toe box and are stylish in color. As someone with wide feet, I like that my toes are not squished together. Upon initial use, the Ghost 16 shoes seemed comfortable but the more I have used them the more I just don’t love them. The main reason is that the padding in the heels makes my ankles roll outward. For someone struggling with pronating and rolling their ankles inward, this might be a great solution for them. Since I do not struggle with that, this extra padding really irrigates my feet. Second to this is that the shoes are very bulky. ... MoreAfter trying the Brooks Ghost 16 shoes for a bit, there are a lot of things I have come to appreciate about these shoes, but in the end I have just not fallen in love with them. Second to this is that the shoes are very bulky. As much as I appreciate the wide toe box, there is a lot of extra sole on these shoes, especially around the toes, that makes them bulkier than seems necessary. While this shoe may not be my go to shoe for a run, I would say it makes a great backup or recovery run shoe and that's what i'll be using it as going forward.
This is my first pair of Brooks. My husband has been a loyal customer ever since his PT recommended them for him and now it’s all he uses for running. I have been using the other popular expensive running shoes, though, thinking that since I have such “normal” feet that I don’t need to worry about things like toe-box or pronation. My foot strike was the next thing I noticed. I literally was hitting the ground so much better with a more forefoot-first approach. These Brooks are my favorite running shoes thus far.Out of curiosity, I wore them to work one day just to see how they would perform in a 13-hour on-your-feet kind of job like nursing. So many of the nurses I work with wear Brooks and now I see why. I like to keep my work and running shoes separate, so I will definitely be buying a second pair for work.

My doctor and podiatrist both wear Ghost daily in their jobs (on their feel all day) and recommend them for proper support and comfort.PROS: Fit like a glove! Very comfortable amount of cushioning with good support. The 12 mm drop in Ghost is also preferable for plantar fasciitis. For the perfect fit, I've always ordered Brooks shoes a full size larger than my dress shoes. Ghost is one of only a handful of brands/models made in a narrow width, which I need. The narrow width keeps my foot snug from sliding, but there is still ample toebox room, so no pinching or rubbing there, even when my feet get hot or swollen. I love the blue (peacoat) color on my Ghost 15, as I wear jeans most of the time and they go great with them. So often, any narrow shoes only come in plain black, so I love when there are good color options. Wish there were more color choices in narrow!CONS: A couple of the changes I've seen with Brooks shoes over the years have been disappointing:(1) is in the vertical interior back part of the heel. Old models of Brooks shoes had sturdier (but still soft and comfortable) fabric, a bit over an inch wide, inserted in the vertical back of the inside heel. That was discontinued and since then, shoes just have the very fine lining fabric throughout the inside. This fine fabric wears out quickly in the heel area from the heel rubbing against it, and I've developed holes through it and the padding underneath in other Ghost models, sometimes within the first 100 miles. It hasn't happened yet with this pair, but I don't have many miles on them yet. Please bring back the sturdier fabric insert in the heel lining!2) the shoelaces. I loved the shoelaces on old models that were round and a bit stretchy. I never had to re-tie them, nor replace them. Though these flat laces on the Ghost 15 are a big improvement over earlier ribbon laces that were slick and untied constantly, they aren't are good as the old rounder laces.OVERALL: I highly recommend Brooks shoes. For me, Ghost and Glycerin models in narrow width, provide the perfect fit and comfort all day! Thank you, Brooks, for making narrow shoes that my feet love!
I'm not a runner I'm a walker and these shoes are wonderful! They were comfortable right out of the box. They have good cushioning and are a delight to walk in. I did have to do a little 'running' to get out of the way of someone while wearing these shoes and I thought 'Hey these are nice running shoes too!' Running/walking either way you are good to go. I've worn Brooks shoes for years and have been very happy with them. I have a pair of the waterproof ones for my rainy day walks. I even use them walking in the snow/ice - I attach my 'spike strips' to them and they work great! I've noticed in the last two years reviews have suggested that you order 1/2 size up - I heeded this advice and was glad I did otherwise I think they would have been a bit too small. I've noticed in the last few years the shoelaces weren't long enough and didn't want to stay tied. I can report the shoelaces on this shoe are long enough, however they still come untied. I make a point to really cinch them down, but they still come untied fairly frequently. I may have to do the double knot routine which solves the problem, but it's a hassle. I hope Brooks in the future will have some blueish teal colored shoes, I always look for that color first. My second choice is a blue color of some sort. I got the 'Pea Coat' navy blue color this time which looks great with jeans. Here's the bottom line - you will be happy with the Ghost 15. Give it a try.
Teen athlete with a history of knee problems, flatter narrow feet, and some over pronation. Getting back into running to train for 5ks or so for fitness for my sport. I had a pair of Ghost 13s from 3 or 4 years ago which I love, but I have been using those for indoor cardio and wanted another pair of Brooks to use for outdoors as I get back into running. To say it concisely, the 16s cannot compare to the 13s. I can see Brooks went for a more modern appearance and it failed. The toe box is also weirdly wider even though B width is standard. Also ordered the "Black" with a bit of grey, its actually more purple than anything.
