I was advised to wear Brooks Glycerine GTS 19, which was designed for flatties. I have been wearing it since that day at the store and I have had no pain at all since then. Thanks to my grand daughter, to Road Runner Sports, and to Brooks. Praise the Lord.

Brooks Glycerin 19 are my favourite BLEND of stability & cushioning. I have both the GTS pronation support as well as this neutral version and I find both to guide my foot better than all my other shoes. I also own the Brooks Aurora that have slightly more squish & projection, but less stability, and so even for road running I find myself veering back to the Glycerin because of the way it supports the most natural heel-strike to toe-off foot motion. As a musculoskeletal health professional i would recommend the Glycerine to anyone. Especially people who understand that protecting your joints from wear isn't just about adding layers of foam, it's also about complementing ideal gait. I've never had even a hint of a blister from the Glycerin. Even the laces are squishy and well done. The only complaint I have is that Brooks don't make kids shoes anymore.

I walk a minimum of 30 miles per week with my wife, and have done so consistently for the last two years. I have also been dealing with strong case of plantar fasciitis during most of that time. Every Sunday, after our 10-15 mile walk, I come home with significant pain on the bottom of my foot, which never really dissipates. After about 18 months of nagging pain, I decided to try the Brooks Glycerin GTS 19 based on a recommendation from a friend. Wow, what a difference!! My pain is gone!! For nearly two years I have dealt with that pain, figured it was just part of the process with the amount of mileage we cover. I was wrong. This was my 10th pair of glycerins and I bought it bc I absolutely love the shoe. I have always worn a size 8 and so naturally I ordered the same size in the 19. However, the new features have altered the shoe fit and when it arrived it was so tight I checked the size to make sure it was actually an 8. I thought maybe it was the extra cushion they added and that I just needed to break it in a bit. However, after 3 weeks I have stopped wearing them bc they hurt my feet so bad. They are tight on the sides and squeeze my feet as well as my toes are almost at the top of the shoe and so my toes hurt. I canned and asked if they had similar complaints and she had no information. I asked if with the new features they had a new sizing guide or recommendation like going up ... MoreThis was my 10th pair of glycerins and I bought it bc I absolutely love the shoe. I asked if with the new features they had a new sizing guide or recommendation like going up half a size, but she had no information again. This was pretty disappointing as I've been a loyal brooks customer for nearly a decade and was unhappy with the shoe and the customer service in this experience. I am going to return these and get a half size larger to see if that helps. Other than the fit, the shoe was comfortable with all the cushion and looks good, but hoping the larger size will once again get me the shoes I love.
Moved to this shoe from the Glycerin 18. Chalk and cheese better than the 18. Far softer and better on transition. The 18's didn't feel soft at all and felt like a dead shoe. Really comfortable, however my 18's were half a size too big, so I went half a size smaller on the 19's. Unfortunately the 19's are now half a size too small. This combined with the smaller toe box size has resulted in a burning/rubbing sensation on the balls of my feet after about 4-5km. So whilst I quite like the shoe, be careful on sizing.Overall note: really wish Brooks would bring more modern colours to the glycerin shoe line, there is normally only one modern choice of colour.
I purchased Glycerin 19s in 2022 after years of experience with Brooks Transcend and to a lesser extent Brooks Adrenalins. my reason for switching to Glycerin was that I could no longer easily access Transcends in my 12.5 size or at all. Using older Transcends and a new pair of Adrenalins, I read about the qualities of Glycerins and decided to give them a try. I bought online in an acceptable colour, got my size and am absolutely happy with them. I am an advanced aged runner of up to 10k; I have tried many shoes across the range from New Balance, Aspics and Hoka but in recent years have stuck with Brooks. I wouldn't be running at 83 if I had not had superb foot protection and cushioning. The Glycerins have a cushioning effect under the ball of the foot better than I ... MoreI purchased Glycerin 19s in 2022 after years of experience with Brooks Transcend and to a lesser extent Brooks Adrenalins. my reason for switching to Glycerin was that I could no longer easily access Transcends in my 12.5 size or at all. No ill effects; I ran another 10 k yesterday and pulled up without any adverse effect. All Brooks shoes that I have had wear well but for extra caution and hopefully for my own running longevity, I tend to refresh mine after about 6 months.I am unlikely to feel a need to switch from Glycerin; for me, there is a qualitative improvement above what I have been used to.
I'm currently training for my first marathon, I bought these shoes for my long run days. Overall, these shoes have been great, the cushion is really good so I don't feel much impact from the sidewalks and roads I'm running on. They feel a lot lighter then what I'm used to from shoes with this much cushion built into them. I've ran 39 miles in them so far, and it took about 15 miles to finally get them broken in and comfortable on my feet. One flaw I recently found on my last run, however, is with the heel counter/lining of the shoe, the material is very thick and when I have the shoe on, it feels like 2 tabs rubbing on my Achilles tendon region and after about 2 miles in it started to hurt a little. When I finished my latest run (7 miles total run) I noticed I was ... MoreI'm currently training for my first marathon, I bought these shoes for my long run days. When I finished my latest run (7 miles total run) I noticed I was blistering on the tendon from all the chafing being caused by the inside heel portion of the shoe. I attached a picture of the heel to show the thickness and also some darker spots from a little blood from the chafing. I have been debating whether or not to return them but the performance overall is great and I love the comfort running on the hard pavement from these shoes but I'm hoping eventually with more wear of the heel portion it may stop rubbing on my heel, I will update if that changes.
I love this shoe! I am in my mid 50's, slightly overweight and have lived with hip issues my entire life. Currently I'm walking on a new hip with another on the way, so when it comes to shoes, quality and support are very important to me. My hip issues tend to cause me to supinate as I do not have proper rotation and extension, however the Glycerin GTS gives me the support I need and to me is like wearing a pair of slippers; lightweight, all comfy and cosy without being too squishy. People sometimes say that after they wear the shoe for a while they start to roll towards the outside at the fore foot, what I find when I get to that point is the shoes are in need of replacement, they have done their job, still look great, but support system has reached it's limit. ... MoreI love this shoe! What I do not love is that it has taken forever for the Glycerin GTS 20 to fiiinnnaaalllyyy become available. What I dislike even more is how this shoe, (glycerin GTS 19) which was hopelessly out of stock, suddenly became available again when the new model rolled out! Really bad business guys. I will try the 20 before long but since I love this shoe, know how it fits and what to expect, why not take advantage of the great sale price. I depend on quality shoes to keep me upright and moving forward, this shoe has the fit and finish perfect for me... unfortunately availability and information on any of the Glycerin shoes were sketchy to non-existent even dealing directly with Brooks.
These are the most comfortable running shoes I have ever owned. I have a lot of issues with blisters on my arches and these are the only shoes that I can comfortably run 10km+ in without any issues. They hold my foot nice and firm and honestly feel like they are moulded to the contours of my feet. This is my second pair of the 19s and I will probably stockpile a few more. I run several times a week between 4-10km and I’ve got nearly a year out of the first pair (they are still serviceable after a year but aesthetically they are looking a bit tired, so I’ll just keep them for hiking). Definitely recommend these shoes for anyone who is relatively flat footed and experiences arch blisters.
I really like these shoes, actually I love them, I've had Glycerin 16/17/18 and now 19. The Glycerin 18's were a dud in my opinion, they were dead shoes, didn't absorb much and terrible on transition. The 19's are so much better. Far softer and better through transition. Honestly I didn't know what transition was until I got the 19's.That being said, I had size 10.5 Glycerin 18's which were half a size too big, So bought size 10 Glycerin 19's. Now they are 0.5 too small and i'm getting hot spots on the balls of my feet as they are too small. So get them fitted or ensure you get the right size.Overall a great shoe once you get the sizing right.
